Enhancement of ionic conductivity and fracture toughness by infiltrating porous Li_(0.33)La_(0.56)TiO_(3) pellets

Although solid-state lithium electrolytes have the potential to reduce the safety issues associated with organic liquid electrolytes,disadvantages such as low total conductivity,large interface impedance,and delamination of the interface due to cyclic stress still need to be *** solid-state lithium-ion conductor Li_(0.33)La_(0.56)TiO_(3)(LLTO) was prepared via a hydrothermal route by using CTAB as templates in this *** LLTO with micro-porous channels was obtained and the total conductivity is comparable to the non-porous *** LLTO pellets are infiltrated with the non-porous LLTO precursor solution,and the total conductivities of the infiltrated porous LLTO are all higher than those without *** infiltration,the porous LLTO calcined at 600℃ achieves the highest total conductivity,7.88×10^(-5) S/*** fracture toughness of the infiltrated LLTO is higher than that of the non-porous *** results demonstrate a new way to prepare solid-state lithium-ion conductors with high ionic conductivity and great tolerance to cyclic stress.

Interval analysis for neural networks with application to fault detection

This paper investigates an interval analysis method for neural networks and applies it to fault detection for systems with unknown but bounded measurement noise. First, a novel interval analysis method is presented, which can compute the bounds of the output of a feedforward neural network subject to a bounded input. By applying the proposed interval analysis method to a network trained with fault-free system data, adaptive thresholds for fault detection are computed. Finally, one can acquire fault detection results via a fault detection strategy. The proposed method can achieve tight bounds of the network output and employ simple operations, which leads to accurate fault detection results and a low computational burden.A numerical simulation and an experiment on an AC servo motor are given to illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

This study investigated the formation mechanism of new grains due to twin–twin intersections in a coarse-grained Mg–6Al–3Sn–2Zn alloy during different strain rates of an isothermal *** results of electron backscattered diffraction investigations showed that the activated twins were primarily{1012}tension twins,and 60°<1010>boundaries formed due to twin–twin intersections under different strain *** twin variants with 60°<1010>boundaries transformed into new grains through lattice rotations at a low strain rate(0.01 s^(−1)).At a high strain rate(10 s^(−1)),the regions surrounded by subgrain boundaries through high-density dislocation arrangement and the 60°<1010>boundaries transformed into new grains via dynamic recrystallization.

Copper(Cu)-based materials are known as the most attractive catalysts for electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR),especially the Cu^(+) species(e.g.,Cu_(2)O),which show excellent capability for catalyzing CO_(2) to C_(2+) chemicals because of their unique electronic ***,the active Cu^(+) species are prone to be reduced to metallic Cu under an electroreduction environment,thus resulting in fast deactivation and poor ***,we developed an advanced surface modification strategy to maintain the active Cu^(+) species via assembling a protective layer of metal-organic framework(copper benzenetricarboxylate,CuBTC) on the surface of Cu_(2)O octahedron(Cu_(2)O@CuBTC).It's encouraging to see that the Cu_(2)O@CuBTC heterostructure outperforms the bare Cu_(2)O octahedron in catalyzing CO_(2) to C_(2+) chemicals and dramatically enhances the ratio of C_(2)H_(4)/CH_(4) products.A systematic study reveals that the introduced CuBTC shell plays a critical role in maintaining the active Cu^(+) species in Cu_(2)O@CuBTC heterostructure under reductive *** work offers a practical strategy for improving the catalytic performance of CO_(2)RR over copper oxides and also establishes a route to maintain the state of valence-sensitive catalysts.

An anti-saturation fault-tolerant adaptive torsional vibration control method with fixed-time prescribed performance for the rolling mill main drive system(RMMDS)was investigated,which is affected by control input saturation,actuator faults,sensor measurement errors,and parameter ***,we gave a continuously differentiable saturation function to approximate the control input saturation characteristic of the RMMDS,translating the saturation characteristic into the matched uncertainty and unknown time-varying gain in the ***,an RMMDS mathematical model with unmatched uncertainty and unknown time-varying gain was developed,taking into account the presence of control input saturation,actuator faults,sensor measurement errors,and parameter *** on the established mathematical model,an error transformation model of the roll speed tracking was constructed by the equivalent error transformation *** to the error transformation model,a barrier Lyapunov function and a novel adaptive controller were studied to ensure that the roll speed tracking error always evolves inside a fixed-time asymmetric ***,numerical simulations were performed in Matlab/Simulink to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control method in suppressing the RMMDS torsional vibration.

A Sampling-Based Approach to Urban Motion Planning Games with Stochastic Dynamics

Urban driving is a challenging task that requires autonomous agents to account for the stochastic dynamics and interactions with other vehicles. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that models urban driving as a stochastic generalized Nash equilibrium problem (SGNEP) and solves it using information-theoretic model predictive control (IT-MPC). By exploiting the cooperative nature of urban driving, we transform the SGNEP into a stochastic potential game (SPG), which has desirable convergence guarantees. Furthermore, we provide an algorithm for isolating interacting vehicles and thus factorizing a game into multiple sub-games. Finally, we solve for the open-loop generalized Nash equilibrium of a stochastic game utilizing a sampling-based technique. We solve the problem in a receding-horizon fashion, and apply our framework to various urban scenarios, such as intersections, lane merges, and ramp merges, and show that it can achieve safe and efficient multi-agent navigation. Dimension-controlled synthesis of BiOI for efficient visible light photodegradation of tetracycline: role of pore structure

The transformation of photogenerated charge carriers (PC) in variable dimensional photocatalyst plays a pivotal role in unraveling the generation of reactive species (RS). However, the dimensional structure–activity relationship in photocatalysis remains elusive, with limited insights into its intricacies. Herein, we report a controlled synthesis strategy by using polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP)-assisted precipitation method for BiOI photocatalyst. Due to the steric hindrance of PVP, the 3D microsphere (3D-PVP0.5) and porous structure (3D-PVP1) of BiOI catalysts have been successfully prepared at room temperature. The 3D-PVP1 photocatalyst contains abundant mesopores and larger pores, which significantly shorten the diffusion distance of PC. Also, these PC in porous structure is beneficial for transferring from the inner phase to the surface of materials. Combined with optical property and radicals trapping experiments, the recombination rate of PC in porous structure performs a significant decrease, leading to the generation of more dominated ROS (•O2− and h+). The •O2− played a dominated role (86.98% of contribution rate) in photodegradation of tetracycline (TC) in 3D-PVP1 photocatalytic process. Compared with 2D nanosheet of BiOI (16.7% removal rate of TC), the as-prepared 3D porous structure of BiOI catalyst exhibits unique stable and high removal capacities (90.5%) for TC photodegradation under visible light irradiation. The kobs of 3D-PVP1 photocatalyst increased by 5.1 times than that of 2D nanosheet. To investigate its practical application, the effects of inorganic anions and pH have been systematically studied. This work sheds light on the design of variable dimension BiOI catalyst and provides more insight into the transfer mechanism of PC. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.
