Multi-view stereo network with regional consistency and discrepancy cost volume

The goal of Multi-View Stereo (MVS) is to robustly recover an accurate 3D point cloud from multiple views. In this paper， we propose a novel Multi-View Stereo network with Regional consistency and Discrepancy cost volume， denoted as MVSRD. Firstly， a full-feature interaction transformer is presented， which learns the regional consistency between the reference and source views， improving the robustness of reconstruction. Secondly， a discrepancy cost volume is designed to emphasize pixel-level differences between feature volumes. It facilitates the construction of high-quality cost volume to enhance the accuracy of reconstruction. Extensive experiments on the DTU and Tanks & Temples datasets demonstrate that our MVSRD achieves state-of-the-art performance.

In this paper, a nonsmooth observer considering friction compensation is proposed for the sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) to estimate the rotor position and speed. Friction is one of the main factors affecting the tracking accuracy of the motor at low speed, especially in the back and forth motion of the motor. Firstly, based on the Stribeck friction model, a nonlinear friction model of the motor is established. Secondly, a nonsmooth observer with friction compensation is designed to estimate the position and speed of the rotor, and the lumped disturbance of the system at the same time. Further, the stability analysis of this nonsmooth observer is given. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the simulation results. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

Distributed formation-aggregation control algorithm for a cluster of quadrotors

This paper focuses on the solution to a formation-aggregation problem concerned with a cluster of quadrotors. In particular, all the quadrotors are steered towards a target region while reaching an expected formation configuration. However, only a subset of quadrotors, treated as leaders, have access to the projections onto the target region;and in the meantime, each quadrotor just exchanges information with its neighbors. It is assumed that the quadrotors without the knowledge of the target region, treated as followers, are within the convex hull of the leaders in the expected configuration. A distributed formation-aggregation control algorithm is proposed under the hierarchical framework. To be specific, resorting to an auxiliary dynamic system with a distributed idea, a command force is first synthesized in the position loop for the concerned formation-aggregation objective. Next, an applied thrust and a command attitude are extracted from the synthesized command force. Finally, an applied torque is synthesized in the attitude loop such that the attitude tracking to the command one is realized. In terms of the Lyapunov theory, it is shown that the leaders are capable of guiding the overall quadrotor cluster into the target region in the expected configuration. Simulations are carried out to validate the theoretical results. © 2022 The Franklin Institute

Industrial alarm systems play crucial roles in assessing the production status and ensuring process safety. However, the presence of alarm floods can make alarm systems partially or fully fail, and thus would cause serious consequences. Alarm prediction, as an advanced approach to address alarm floods, offers operators decision supports when an alarm flood occurs. Existing alarm prediction methods requires that the output alarm sequences are of a fixed dimension, making such methods unable to adapt to the changing alarm rate. Accordingly, this paper proposes an alarm prediction model based on Transformer. The proposed model can predict alarm sequences with variational dimensions and can also achieve remarkable accuracy. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by a case study with data from the Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) simulation model. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

Ground penetrating radar (GPR) is extensively employed for subsurface road target detection, offering benefits such as convenience, nondestructive testing, rapid data acquisition, and superior resolution. Despite these advantages, interpreting GPR data often depends on the expertise of professionals, resulting in low detection efficiency and low accuracy. To address these challenges, this study introduces an intelligent detection technique for GPR images, utilizing an enhanced YOLOv5 framework. First, considering the problems of the small amount of GPR image datasets and the unclear characteristics caused by the complex underground media, a Dense-C3 module is built by utilizing the structure of DenseNet to enhance the network's capability for extracting features. Subsequently, a channel and spatial hybrid attention module is introduced into the backbone for feature refinement and improving the efficiency. Finally, the multi-class focal loss function is devised to enhance the precision in cases of imbalanced sample classes. Experimental results show that the proposed model surpasses the original YOLOv5 model and various contemporary advanced models. © 2023 IEEE.

Minimum quantity lubrication(MQL)is a relatively efficient and clean alternative to flooding workpiece *** atomization has the merits of small droplet diameter,high uniformity of droplet size,and strong coating,hence its superiority to pneumatic ***,as the current research hotspot,the influence of jet parameters and electrical parameters on the average diameter of droplets is not ***,by observing the shape of the liquid film at the nozzle outlet,the influence law of air pressure and voltage on liquid film thickness(h)and transverse and longitudinal fluctuations are ***,the mathematical model of charged droplet volume average diameter(VAD)is constructed based on three dimensions of the liquid film,namely its thickness,transverse wavelength(λ_(h)),and longitudinal wavelength(λ_(z)).The model results under different working conditions are obtained by numerical *** of the model results with the experimental VAD of the droplet confirm the error of the mathematical model to be less than 10%.The droplet diameter distribution span value Rosin–Rammler distribution span(R.S)and percentage concentrations of PM10(particle size of less than 10μm)/PM2.5(particle size of less than 2.5μm)under different working conditions are further *** results show that electrostatic atomization not only reduces the diameter distribution span of atomized droplets but also significantly inhibits the formation of PM10 and PM2.5 fine-suspension *** the air pressure is 0.3 MPa,and the voltage is 40 kV,the percentage concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 can be reduced by 80.72%and 92.05%,respectively,compared with that under the pure pneumatic atomization condition at 0.3 MPa.

In recent years, radar based gesture recognition technology has attracted more and more attention. Among different types of radars, frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar has the greatest application potential due to its high range and velocity resolution and low cost. However, insufficient gesture information extraction and interference signals affect the performance of FMCW radar gesture recognition. To address the problems, a gesture recognition method based on multi-dimensional features and deep neural network is proposed in this paper. First, the range-time map (RTM) and velocity-time map (VTM) of the gesture are constructed from the range-Doppler map (RDM) with two-dimensional fast Fourier transform (2D-FFT). Then, the angle-time map (ATM) is constructed with the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm. Subsequently, RTM, VTM and ATM are normalized and adaptively filtered to suppress interference signals, and the three maps are fused to construct the range-velocity-angle-time map (RV ATM) of the gesture. Finally, an improved VGG16 network with self-attention mechanism module is used for feature extraction and recognition. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves an average accuracy of 98.3% for six gestures, and the improved VGG16 network outperforms other traditional convolutional neural networks. © 2023 IEEE.

Currently, the advanced geological prediction for the main tunnel from the parallel tunnel often employs parallel deduction of detection conclusions, which faces issues such as a lack of diverse geological exploration information, a lack of analysis of geological structures and poor accuracy. In this paper, an integrated prediction method for unfavorable geology in main tunnel considering the geological conditions of parallel tunnel is proposed, which consists of three stages. In the first stage, based on the forecast mileage range and tunnel excavation conditions, the process is divided into four specific cases. In the second stage, it deduces the geology of the main tunnel along the orientation of rock strata occurrence or joint to parallel tunnel and selects the results of the rock strata occurrence or joint deduction according to the distance of the deduction. In the last stage, it deduces the geological conditions of parallel tunnel face and the integration of geophysical and drilling information for predictive conclusions based on the four specific cases. The proposed method offers higher prediction accuracy for rock mass integrity and surrounding rock grades compared to parallel deduction method. © 2024 IEEE.
