Troublesome incidents like sudden water inflows increase the risk of collapse accidents in tunnel excavation. In this study, a data-driven underground water prediction method is proposed based on trend features extracted from apparent resistivity. A novel framework is developed for extracting trend features from the contour lines of apparent resistivity. These trend features are subsequently integrated with numerical features from the resistivity matrix for classification. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by apparent resistivity data from real tunnel engineering. The result indicates that the classification accuracy of the proposed method outperforms the method without feature extraction. © 2023 IEEE.

Constant current (CC) based power distribution is widely used in the submarine power supply grid for its robustness against cable impedance and short circuit faults. An input-series-output-parallel (ISOP) modularized CC-to-CV converter is be used to provide constant voltage (CV) for the submarine instruments. In this paper, an imbalance control with stratified voltage is proposed for the modularized CC-to-CV converter by switching modules to adjust the power. The power of each power module is decided by the output voltage realizing auto and seamless module switching. Specially, only one module is regulated to adjust the power, other modules are out of control working either in full power or in standby, improving the efficiency for light power conditions. The modeling and analysis of the modularized CC-to-CV converter is also presented, as well as the proposed the control method. Finally, a prototype is built to verify the proposed method. © 2023 The Korean Institute of Power Electronics.

Nowadays, mobile robots play an important role in a variety of service scenarios. They need to plan and track trajectories to accomplish tasks such as delivery or guided tours. In such tasks, there are two remaining challenges: on one hand, the time and memory consumption of present path planners are still significant;on the other hand, service robots, which have a higher center of gravity, demand greater moving stability than that of current trajectory planners provide. To address these two challenges. Firstly, we propose a safety boundary first A∗ which fully utilizes environmental obstacle information to create a safety boundary and searches in it to quickly find an initial path. Secondly, we formulate the trajectory optimization problem as a nonlinear optimization problem, where the smoothness, safety, feasibility, and moving stability of the robot are taken into account. Furthermore, to constrain the robot's lateral acceleration, we design a time allocation algorithm based on non-uniform B-spline, enhancing the quality of the resulting trajectory. Simulations and real-world experiments demonstrate that our algorithms significantly improve path search efficiency, enhance moving stability, reduce the difficulty of tracking, and improve the quality of task completion. © 2024 IEEE.

In this article, we pay attention to event-based model predictive control (MPC) for load frequency control of multi-area power system. Considering the practical issues, the inputs are subject to hard constraints. A novel dynamic event-triggered mechanism (DETM) which contains an additive internal dynamic variable and an adjusting variable is designed to reduce data transmission burden. The MPC problem is expressed as a 'min-max' optimisation problem. By considering the effects of load disturbances and the DETM, we give the design approach for the controller which integrates H2 and H8 performance indexes through an auxiliary optimization problem. A simulation example is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

This paper presents an improved stability criterion and controller design scheme condition for a networked control system under denial of service (DoS) attack. Firstly, the DoS attack interval is divided into attack interval and no attack interval, therefore, a switching-like event-triggered control can be established to reduce the waste of network resources and improve network efficiency. Then, the studied system is transformed into a time-delay system, and an improved stability criterion and controller design method are established by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF). Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a simulation example. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

The electro-hydraulic load simulator which can simulate the load executed on the aircraft actuator in the process of flight is an important ground test equipment. The uncertainties of the system including the disturbances caused by the motion of actuator make it challenging to achieve high performance. This study develops an adaptive iterative learning controller for the torque control of electro-hydraulic load simulator utilizing the backstepping method. On the basis of adaptive backstepping control, this controller incorporates iterative learning law to learn unknown nonlinear functions. By utilizing the repetitive characteristic of the test equipment, the iterative learning law sacrifices learning time to achieve enhanced control performance. To handle unknown disturbances, filter error, and learning error, a robust term described by dynamic equations is constructed. The calculation of the derivative of the virtual control law is simplified with a first-order command filter. Simulations with three different controllers are obtained to illustrate the learning ability of the proposed controller. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

Additively manufactured bimetallic structures combine the advantages of dissimilar materials and can achieve localized properties through a customized composition ***,additively manufactured parts may still lack the dimensional accuracy and surface integrity essential for precision mechanical assemblies that the post-machining process can ***,this study aims to systematically investigate the microstructure and machinability of 316L/CuSn10 bimetallic structures fabricated using laser powder bed *** results show that the fusion zone of the bimetallic structure had refined grains of microscale size owing to the mixture of the primary elements of the bimetals,which resulted in the highest microhardness of 3.4 *** difference in microstructure and microhardness between the single-material and fusion zones also causes significant differences in the cutting response during the ultraprecision *** 316L stainless steel side exhibited the highest cutting force and more severe material accumulation in the *** cutting force drops when cutting through the fusion zone,with an observable fracture in the chips and separation of dissimilar materials on the machined grooves,indicating that the heterogeneous properties of additively manufactured 316L/CuSn10 bimetallic structures pose challenges to the improvement of surface *** simulation results also showed that stress accumulation occurred in the tool path through the fusion zone owing to the higher yield strength and hardness of stainless steel,indicating that lower cutting speeds and depths of cut are favorable for reducing cutting force and improving surface *** study provides deep insight into the microstructure evolution mechanism and a theoretical basis for improving the surface quality of additively manufactured bimetallic structures using an ultraprecision machining process.

A new Gaussian approximate (GA) filter for nonlinear systems with one-step randomly delayed measurement and correlated noise is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a general framework of Gaussian filter is designed under Gaussian assumption on the conditional density. Then, the implementation of Gaussian filter is transformed into the approximation of the Gaussian weighted integral in the proposed frame. Secondly, a new cubature Kalman filtering(CKF)algorithm is developed on the basis of the spherical-radial cubature rule. The efficiency and superiority of the proposed method are illustrated in the numerical examples. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

At present, most research on the coverage of multi-agent systems is based on Euclidean distance. This does not consider the existence of obstacles and has great limitations in the application. In this paper, a kind of coverage control problem based on high-order geodesic Voronoi partition is practically investigated. It allows multiple agents to monitor an area with obstacles to achieve the monitoring of the overall environment. As a result, the geodesic distance is introduced as a metric form. Based on the geodesic distance, point-by-point scanning on the layer is taken to achieve high-order Voronoi diagram division. The coverage algorithm can be implemented in a distributed manner through the exchange of location information with each other, and the Lloyd algorithm is added to realize the movement of the sensor toward the optimal position. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.
