The vehicle scheduling in the logistics system of the steel park is a critical factor determining the scheduling efficiency and logistics throughput. The limited space resources at the entrance of the steel park make vehicles shall be arranged in reasonable batches to guarantee the scheduling consistency. To achieve the purpose, the paper first formulates the model of vehicle batching. Then, the algorithm CCVB (constrained clustering of vehicle batching) is proposed to solve the problem from a clustering perspective. Comparative experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed mechanism can sufficiently improve the scheduling efficiency of steel logistics under limited time and space resources. © 2022 IEEE.

Electronic medical records and doctor-patient conversations contain a wealth of useful information, such as disease symptoms, drug names, and cure cycles. Traditional deep learning approaches utilize bidirectional recurrent neural networks to encode text, which cannot effectively capture long-distance dependencies in text. In order to identify medical entity types in various texts more accurately, a named entity recognition approach based on RoBERTa-WWM-IDCNN-CRF is proposed. This approach introduces the RoBERTa-WWM pre-trained model, in order to improve the overall understanding of long Chinese texts for the first time. The model generates semantic representations containing prior knowledge. Then, the generated semantic representations are feed to the IDCNN to extract sentence level characteristics. Finally, the global optimal solution is obtained and the results of the named entity are produced through the CRF. The experiment indicates that the improvement of $F_{1}$ score, accuracy, and recall of RoBERTa-WWM-IDCNN-CRF model are 7.94%, 4.52% and 10.02% comparing with the classical BiLSTM-CRF model.

Over the past decade, the continuous surge in cloud computing demand has intensified data center workloads, leading to significant carbon emissions and driving the need for improving their efficiency and sustainability. This paper focuses on the optimal allocation problem of batch compute loads with temporal and spatial flexibility across a global network of data centers. We propose a bilevel game-theoretic solution approach that captures the inherent hierarchical relationship between supervisory control objectives, such as carbon reduction and peak shaving, and operational objectives, such as priority-aware scheduling. Numerical simulations with real carbon intensity data demonstrate that the proposed approach success-fully reduces carbon emissions while simultaneously ensuring operational reliability and priority-aware scheduling.

This paper explores the impact of the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) presence on distribution grid operations, highlighting the challenges they present to conventional pricing strategies due to their dual role as power consumers and suppliers, coupled with their energy storage capabilities. We propose an advanced real-time pricing model for the electricity market, employing a novel distributed bilevel optimization framework. This framework distinguishes between the distribution system operator (DSO) at the upper level and the EVs at the lower level, each aiming to optimize profit margins. The optimization includes power flow constraints at the upper level to ensure efficient operation within safe system limits, while model predictive control (MPC) is used to optimize lower-level EV responses. Additionally, we provide a rigorous convergence analysis of the proposed bilevel optimization method. Detailed convergence studies and simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm.

Active sensing plays an essential role in searching and tracking a target without initial target state information. This paper studies the active sensing approach for sensor management problems using multiple unmanned aerial vehicles based on the received signal strength measurements of the target. A Bayesian optimisation-based approach is proposed which adopts the Gaussian process method to model the received signal strength in an area over time and then the expected improvement acquisition function is leveraged to decide where to take new measurements considering the uncertainty of the Gaussian process. A unique contribution of this paper consists of the designed spatial-temporal composite kernel function that accounts for the time-varying nature of the signal strength. Numerical results obtained from different measurement noise levels and varying initial Bayesian optimisation settings demonstrate that the proposed approach can efficiently schedule multiple unmanned aerial vehicles to locate the target within a minimum number of initial data. Particularly, it achieves at most $57 \%$ lower tracking error and $46 \%$ lower lost-track probability as compared to the benchmark approach.

The increased demand for active control of engines has made the study of high-frequency response actuators increasingly important, and actuators based on magnetostrictive materials are promising for a wide range of applications. In this paper, the magnetic field distribution and various thermal losses including Joule heat loss, eddy current loss and hysteresis loss inside the giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA) are analyzed, and the mathematical model of the current-driven GMA operation is derived, where the new J-A model considering the temperature effect is used to describe the hysteresis nonlinearity of the material. This paper simulates the actuator model under the action of multiple physical fields in COMSOL, focusing on the variation of the output displacement of the actuator when the thermal field and thermal expansion are integrated, and provides the theoretical basis for the design of the GMA control algorithm in the future. © 2023 IEEE.

Recently,the emotional robot has basic functions of perceiving and expressing emotions,but it still hard to communicate naturally between humans and *** major reason is that communication atmosphere is seldom considered in Human-robot Interaction(HRI).We propose Multi-modal(i.e.,music background,speech,and semantics) Based Fuzzy Atmosfield(FA),which can not only realize the dynamic adjustment of FA but also dynamically regulate human *** the experiment,a Pepper robot is used and one hundred volunteers are invited for HRI,and soothing piano pieces are used as background *** were filled by the volunteers after the experiments,from which the results show that 90% of the volunteers felt the dynamic changes in the communication atmosphere and 77% of the volunteers felt significant emotional regulation,which demonstrates the effectiveness of our method.

An Effective Hybrid Genetic Algorithm for the Multi-Robot Task Allocation Problem with Limited Span

Multi-robot task allocation is one of the most interesting multi-robot systems that have gained considerable attention due to various real-world applications. In this paper, we focus on a multi-robot task allocation problem where a set of industrial robots, which are installed on a gantry and have a limited working span, have to jointly perform a set of weld lines in large size. We present a mathematical model that captures the objective of minimizing the cycle time, i.e., the time required to complete a given set of weld lines. Due to the inherent difficulty of the problem, we propose an effective hybrid genetic algorithm to solve it. Because the robots are associated with a limited working span, the algorithm integrates a specific region division algorithm to divide the workpieces into a set of regions where the robots can reach all the weld lines in each region. It also incorporates a dedicated route-based crossover to generate promising offspring solutions and an effective neighborhoodbased local search procedure to improve each offspring solution as much as possible. Extensive experimental results on three benchmark instances show that the algorithm significantly outperforms reference methods. Additional experiments on real-world instances are presented to verify the algorithm’s effectiveness in solving the multi-robot task allocation problem with limited span. © 2024, The Authors. This paper presents a novel 5-DoF (degrees of freedom) tilt-rotor quadcopter. Compared to traditional quadcopters, the vehicle offers more DoF by adding two servo-driven mechanisms. The extra DoF allow it to move at a constant pitch angle, thus adapting it to more scenarios, such as slope landings. In addition, the proposed tilt-rotor quadcopter can generate greater torque around the z-axis of the body coordinate system. This gives it an advantage in some scenarios, such as carrying a manipulator to turn valves in the air. In this paper, we first design and model the proposed tilt-rotor quadcopter. Then, we design the controller and control allocation algorithm for the proposed tilt-rotor quadcopter. The control allocation algorithm has clear analytical solutions, which benefits its implementation and deployment. Finally, the structure and control strategy of the tilt-rotor quadcopter are validated by an experiment.

TlBa2Ca2Cu3DyxO8+δ superconductor samples (x = 0–0.075) were prepared by a two-step solid-state reaction technique to investigate the impact of Dy2O3 (dysprosium sesquioxide) addition on the formation and the transport properties of the Tl-1223 phase. The samples were analyzed using X-ray powder diffraction, ac susceptibility, and high-harmonics temperature dependence to study the effects of Dy2O3 on phase formation, superconducting transition temperature Tc, and the intergrain critical current density Jc. XRD results revealed that the prepared samples are nearly single-phases Tl-1223 with a tetragonal structure. Tc is not suppressed as Dy content increased, while Jc increased up to x = 0.025, then decreased with a further increase in x. Our findings show that the presence of dysprosium sesquioxide promotes the high-Tc phase and enhances the transport critical current densities. © I. R. Metskhvarishvili, Melita Menelaou, T. E.
