This paper addresses the task of learning periodic information using deep neural networks to achieve real-time, environment-independent sound source localization. Previous papers showed phase data is the most significant cue in sound source localization tasks and the proposed vM-B DNN was validated to be able to handle such periodic information using on synthesized data. However, they haven't shown its effectiveness and robustness in realistic use cases. This paper introduces a more complex model based on residual networks and adapts vM-B activation function for convolutional layers for use cases that require real-time predictions in dynamically changing environments. © 2024 IEEE.

At the end of 2019, the disease later known as COVID-19 emerged, causing the recent pandemic. The objective of this study was to propose an adaptive mathematical model with the capacity to forecast the health needs of the conntry in the face of the pandemic situation, based on the health needs and the demands for supplies, medicines and other resources identified in the database of the Ministry of Health from the Republic of Panama. In addition, information from the GitHub Repository of the John Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and engineering was considered. A quantitative methodology was used from existing data, based on a mixed approach that incorporated dynamic simulation, machine learning and Six-Sigma design. A monitoring model has been developed focused on reducing health risk due to shortages of medicines and medical supplies in the event of a pandemic or similar situation. This research has laid the foundations for the development of epidemiological models in Panama to facilitate data processing, providing a complementary tool for decision-making based on short-Term predictions, which is expected to achieve a better distribution of health resources in the country in cases of national health emergency. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years,there are numerous studies on chaotic systems with special equilibrium curves having various shapes such as circle,butterfly,heart and *** paper describes a new 3-D chaotic dynamical system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed chaotic system has two quadratic,two cubic and two quartic nonlinear *** is noted that the proposed chaotic system has a hidden attractor since it has an infinite number of equilibrium *** is also established that the proposed chaotic system exhibits multi-stability with two coexisting chaotic attractors for the same parameter values but differential initial states.A detailed bifurcation analysis with respect to variations in the system parameters is portrayed for the new chaotic system with capsule equilibrium *** have shown MATLAB plots to illustrate the capsule equilibrium curve,phase orbits of the new chaotic system,bifurcation diagrams and *** an engineering application,we have proposed a speech cryptosystem with a numerical algorithm,which is based on our novel 3-D chaotic system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed speech cryptosystem follows its security evolution and implementation on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)*** results show that the proposed encryption system utilizes 33%of the FPGA,while the maximum clock frequency is 178.28 MHz.

This study proposes methods that can be used to examine and interpret comments that users have made after watching videos on YouTube on a particular topic. YouTube tutorials are very popular among young people. They have become an important pillar in informal education, thus contributing to the rapid acquisition of skills and knowledge. Under these circumstances, we were interested in analysing the YouTube videos comments, knowing that the platform has a continuous increase in popularity, which is also due to the opportunities of sharing them. Since ChatGPT-themed YouTube videos have seen a significant surge in popularity since 2022, we were interested to analyse some videos that approach the topics of “ChatGPT, AI clone, AI robot and Deep Learning.”

Seismic design of buildings for elastic behavior is a major challenge in civil engineering field. The economic requirements imply that in general the structural elements dissipate earthquake induced energy through plastic deformations. This means that certain level of structural damage must be accepted. The main objective of this paper is the mitigation of seismic structural response, using a fuzzy controller, with the aim to maintain an elastic behavior throughout an entire seismic event. In this regard, a finite element plane frame model was constructed and simulated using the Force Analogy Method together with the State Space formulation. Furthermore, a comparative analysis of the structural response with and without control implementation was carried out. The results illustrate the efficiency of the fuzzy controller. © 2021 IEEE.

Considering the need for mass customization in Industry 4.0, it is necessary to develop non-traditional production methods. Therefore, additive manufacturing can become a key technology for the production of customized products thanks to its ability to create irregular objects or shapes. In addition to enabling new design possibilities, the additive manufacturing method holds promise for increasing social, economic, and environmental sustainability. It also has the potential to reduce energy consumption and lower polymer material consumption. Additive manufacturing contrasts with conventional processes, as it consists in applying materials layer by layer. Conventional manufacturing operations produce polymer waste that is difficult to reintroduce into manufacturing processes. In the higher education system, the introduction of information technologies is part of the modern unit of education. At the present time, when universities commonly use the form of distance and mixed education, this method places the student at the center of the entire educational system and among all other components related to this system. Supporting the development of skills, competencies, critical thinking, communication, and expressing ideas and concepts naturally, in a free form, stimulate the student. The motivation of individuals has a great influence on education and even on learning itself. These information technologies can implicitly greatly enhance motivation and also education through innovative teaching, learning, and assessment technologies. Motivation is increased through interactivity, dynamics, and effects provided by information technology. Virtual reality (VR) is the most interactive of these technologies. The contribution is devoted to the use of virtual reality in the educational process, where the basis of the use of virtual reality is the effort to display spatial models and scenes as faithfully as possible, their manipulation, the creation of the real world, a certain part of it with all its regularities and rules, movement in three-dimensional space and that all in real-time. In doing so, basic procedures from the field of computer graphics are used. © 2022 IEEE.

Droplet-based microfluidics is a device that can process fluids on a micro-scale to be broken down into uniform droplets at a relatively fast rate. The droplet forming process can be done in a T-junction droplet-based microfluidics configuration where a dispersed fluid is injected into a continuous fluid flow to produce dispersed fluid droplets. In general, droplet-based microfluidics research is done using experimental tests which are limited in empirical observation, especially for mass production cases where an optimized design is needed. In this study, a numerical simulation was carried out to replicate the droplet generation in the droplet-based microfluidic device based on three-dimensional (3D) printed resin T-junction geometric scheme. Numerical simulation was carried out in a two-dimensional (2D) simulation using the level-set method (LSM) based on the finite element method (FEM) using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools for two-phase flow. Water is used as the dispersed fluid, and silicone oil 350 cp is used as the continuous fluid streamed into microfluidic channels with a height of 0.5 mm and a flow rate of 2.5 ml/hr. This study provides the influence of physical parameters such as the shear stress, pressure, and velocity profile which are evaluated at an evaluation point which directly affects the formation of droplets due to the interaction between two immiscible fluids. In addition, suggestions for future droplet generation simulations in microfluidics simulations are also obtained.

This paper proposes a method to reduce the energy consumption of an industrial disassembly process implemented on a production line by using an energy-efficient secondary disassembly process. In the case of defective products, the flow directs the simple product with priority to be disassembled in workstation (WS) 7. Therefore, all defective products are redirected to WS7. The disassembly of all simple products in WS7 is problematic for two reasons: the power consumption of WS7 is high compared to the other workstations, additionally there is an increased possibility of bottlenecks in the production line due to the high disassembly time. The proposed solution to reduce the possibility of deadlock and reduce power consumption is to redirect the defective products to the flexible cell (FC). Handling robots located in neighboring stations will participate collaboratively in the disassembly process. The control structure ensures that the two robots 'meet' in the boundary plane of WS3 with WS4 and disassemble each component through collaborative tasks. Collaborative control of disassembly is thought of as a solution to the global 'fluidization' of production, removing the bottleneck, from the overall flow, but also as an ingenious solution to reduce energy consumption. © 2023 IEEE.
