Assessing insulation performance is vital for sustainable energy systems, which aim to minimize visual impact while ensuring reliability and resilience against weather-related disruptions. With increasing reliance on renewable energy sources, the importance of insulation performance becomes even more pronounced. Regular evaluations of insulation performance are critical for maintaining the safety, reliability, and resilience of electricity networks. By promptly identifying risks such as insulation degradation, utilities can improve maintenance practices, prioritize repairs, and enhance the integration of renewables, thereby boosting overall infrastructure performance. This paper introduces a straightforward and precise technique for determining the equivalent circuit parameters of insulation systems in high-voltage equipment. The proposed method facilitates the accurate determination of the dielectric loss factor from the equivalent circuit. To validate this approach, test cases were utilized to demonstrate its effectiveness. The results obtained through this method were then compared with those obtained using commercial software. The comparison reveals that the proposed approach results in a lower number of depolarization current branches compared to the commercial software. Also, it provides almost the same relative root mean square error and the lower root mean square relative error of the depolarization current. These findings underscore the appeal and effectiveness of the proposed method for determining the equivalent circuit of the dielectric model.

Motion-cueing algorithm is the movement simulation system that calculates the platform's attitude to produce the feeling of real vehicle movement to the user considering the platform's mechanical restrictions in its calculation and algorithm. This paper presents the design of the kinematics model and motion-cueing algorithm for a 6-DOF motion platform. Firstly, the relationship between each axis coordinate is derived from the motion platform coordinate transformation and kinematics theory. Next, the optimized tracking motion-cueing algorithm is designed to improve the dynamic responses of the 6-DOF control system. Finally, a digital signal processor (DSP), TMS-320F-28377, is used as a control center to carry out the kinematic model and motion-cueing algorithms which combines MATLAB software to analyze the execution results of DSP. Simulation results validate the theoretical analysis to illustrate the practicability and correctness of the proposed method. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper discusses signal transmission in the grounding system. During online partial discharge (PD) measurement for the high voltage (HV) apparatus, various PD pulse currents recharge the dielectric of HV apparatus when a PD occurs. One of the noise typologies that affects PD patterns is called the cross-talk, that is, discharges that appear in the measured point due to coupling from another point. In order to study the cross-talk signal, the two PD measuring circuits which are circuit no.1 and circuit no.2, on the same grounding system in the HV laboratory were performed. The distance between two PD measuring circuits is about 20 meters. The artificial PD models were utilized to generate the PD signal injecting to the test circuit no.1, while the cross-talk signals were investigated in circuit no.2. The HFCT sensors were used to measure the PD signal in circuit 1 and the cross-talk signal in circuit 2. The measurement results found that the cross-talk signal transmission in grounding systems provides a bipolar PRPD pattern, and the pulse waveform shows an oscillation shape. Moreover, onsite PD measurements of the generator steam turbine were studied. It is noticeable that the knowledge about cross-talk phenomena in grounding systems can help the PD verification and location for online PD measurement. © 2022 IEEE.

High percentage of photovoltaic gain connect to the wire line, so that the electricity grid from power distribution of the receiving end of the network into a set of production, storage, distribution of multi-source complex new network, the distribution network security operation and new energy consumption pressure increases. In response to the above, this paper puts forward the distributed ES multi-objective optimization configuration strategy of distribution network adapted to the high penetration rate distributed PV. And through a county power grid practical example to certify that the ES configuration approach proposed can effectively mitigate the impact of a high proportion of PV accessed, and it can reduce the abandonment of light.

Under the background of the increasing proportion of new energy power generation, the mismatch of “source-load” occurs between regions. To effectively improve the utilization rate of peaking resources and increase the amount of “source-load” matching, this paper proposes the optimal scheduling of multiregional peaking resources considering network currents. The strategy takes into account the impact of wind power penetration rate on the demand for peaking resources and connects the regions with different peaking characteristics using contact lines. It evaluates and iterates the peaking resources of each region in each time period and finds the optimal amount of peaking resources and the optimal output of thermal power units in each region. Through simulation, the results show that the proposed strategy effectively improves wind power consumption and system operation economy.

The primary objective of speech enhancement algorithm is to enhance speech perception characteristics that have been damaged by background noise. Ensuring speech quality and intelligibility is essential in speech processing analysis for effective communication. To do this, a new temporal modulation processing speech enhancement approach is developed that reconstructs the temporal envelopes (TEVs) in the time frequency (T-F) domain using a one-dimensional feature learning convolutional neural network and long short-term memory (ID FLCNN-LSTM). This deep learning architecture is used to restore distorted envelopes. This approach is tested by utilising 2,700 words from nine different speech samples combined with babble noise and SSN (speech spectrum shaped random noise) at various SNRs. The proposed algorithm's performance is assessed using the Short time objective intelligibility (STOI) and Perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ) metrics. The suggested model improved STOI and PESQ scores as 0. S2 and 2. S0 respectively. The experimental outcomes predicted for quality and intelligibility scores outperforms TEV algorithm, 1D-CNN, and other existing models in speech enhancement under noisy conditions.

This research explains the bandwidth verification and application of the VHF antenna for partial discharge measurement. Three different VHF antennas were used for the experiment. In the research, the measuring bandwidth of such antennas was evaluated using a network analyzer. The antenna properties such as return loss and voltage standing wave ratio were analyzed. Then, the partial discharge in the air was simulated using the surface discharge model. The physical phenomena of PD occur like pulse current transients and electromagnetic waves. The pulse current transients were detected using a coupling capacitor and HFCT sensor, while the electromagnetic wave was detected using a VHF antenna. five test positions of the VHF antenna were designated for partial discharge measurements namely 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 meters away from the partial discharge source. The PRPD pattern, PD magnitude, and waveform obtained from the VHF antenna were compared with coupling capacitors and HFCT sensors and presented in this paper. It is found that the VHF antenna, which has higher return loss and lower voltage standing wave ratio, provides high performance to detect the electromagnetic wave of partial discharge.

Rotating machine is a vital asset of the power plants. For the motors and generators in service, the stator winding insulation is generally operated under thermal, electrical, ambient, and mechanical stresses. The combination of these stresses causes insulation degradation that can lead to early aging or severe damage and, finally, the failure of such machines. The failure of rotating machines may result in immense financial loss and other aspects. Polarization and depolarization current (PDC) measurement has been introduced as one of the time-domain dielectric spectroscopy test techniques applied for insulation condition testing. This paper represents the application of PDC measurement to evaluate the insulation for the stator bars/coil insulation experienced with various kinds of stresses. Moreover, the PDC field test of generators and high voltage motors used in the power plants is introduced. From the experiments, the dielectric parameters obtained from PDC measurements are clearly useful parameters to evaluate the electrical insulation of such rotating machines. © 2021 IEEE.

This study explores the impact of phone usage on train driver performance, a critical aspect influencing the safety of railroad operations. The persistent problem of phone distractions, which severely impair situational awareness and contribute to accidents, necessitates innovative solutions to enhance operational safety. Leveraging advancements in technology, this study introduces a novel approach combining electroencephalogram (EEG)-based analysis with deep learning algorithms to assess the effects of phone usage on the attention states of train drivers. Utilizing a full-type train simulator to replicate real-life scenarios, this study conducts an experimental design involving scenarios with and without phone engagement, aiming to provide a comprehensive assessment of phone usage on performance in critical situations. The deep learning model employed achieved an impressive classification accuracy of approximately 85.6% in distinguishing attention states among 25 participants, with high precision and recall values indicating its efficacy in detecting phone interaction. Moreover, findings reveal that phone usage leads to a 1.4 times increase in response time to situational awareness, significantly affecting driver performance. These findings highlight the significant impact of phone usage on train driver attention and underscore the potential of EEG-based analysis and deep learning in improving railroad safety measures. This study contributes to the growing body of safety literature by focusing on train drivers, offering fresh insights and practical implications for enhancing the safety and efficiency of railroad operations. © 2024, The Authors. Ubiquitin regulatory X(UBX)domain-containing protein 6(UBXN6)is an essential cofactor for the activity of the valosin-containing protein p97,an adenosine triphosphatase associated with diverse cellular ***,its role in cells of the innate immune system remains largely *** this study,we report that UBXN6 is upregulated in humans with sepsis and may serve as a pivotal regulator of inflammatory responses via the activation of ***,the upregulation of UBXN6 in sepsis patients was negatively correlated with inflammatory gene profiles but positively correlated with the expression of Forkhead box O3,an autophagy-driving transcription *** with those of control mice,the macrophages of mice subjected to myeloid cell-specific UBXN6 depletion exhibited exacerbated inflammation,increased mitochondrial oxidative stress,and greater impairment of autophagy and endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation ***6-deficient macrophages also exhibited immunometabolic remodeling,characterized by a shift to aerobic glycolysis and elevated levels of branched-chain amino *** metabolic shifts amplify mammalian target of rapamycin pathway signaling,in turn reducing the nuclear translocation of the transcription factor EB and impairing lysosomal ***,these data reveal that UBXN6 serves as an activator of autophagy and regulates inflammation to maintain immune system suppression during human sepsis.
