This paper opens up an issue regarding to power system investment planning. In order to obtain a sustainable electricity supply, the power outage should be minimized. Maintenance cost plays as an essential element in investment planning, therefore misdirect investment should be avoided. Since soft computing can solved this problem, this paper offers a review in solving investment planning problem through such approaches. The main objective of this paper is to examine the concept and findings by the researchers in power system investment planning problem. Besides, this paper will highlight the most relevant contributions and limitations that can be improve in the other research. Finally, this paper will be pointed out some trends in power system investment planning problem.

Nowadays, China is steadily advancing the reform of the electricity market. The direct power purchase by large consumers, as an important form of which has the characteristics of large participation of renewable energy and huge trading power, has a very important impact on the stability of the power system. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out an effective risk assessment method on the bilateral user transactions of supply and demand side, and to reasonably control the risk factors that have greater risk. Direct power purchase by large consumers involve both sides of supply and demand and many possible risk factors. We construct the risk assessment index system from five aspects and the corresponding 17 second-level evaluation indexes are established as AHP method to evaluate the risk. In addition, after rating the risk factors, the weights are determined and the consistency is verified. The results show that AHP can balance the subjective and objective factors and determine the relative weight of each evaluation index. It can also calculate the subordination degree of risk index to each level of risk level and achieve the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis so that the result of risk assessment is more scientific and accurate. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the power dispatching automation system, production control security region and management information security region adopt forward and backward isolation devices for physical isolation, with the enhancement of the functional relevance between the security regions and the expansion of the system functions, one-way synchronization of production control security region to management information security region has been unable to meet the requirements of application expansion of supervisory control. In accordance with the principles of safety protection standards, it is urgent to establish a data transmission mechanism that can cross the forward and backward isolation, realize service penetration cross the security region. In this paper, a scheme of integrated service invocation across the security region is proposed, which can be invoked by the service bus that can be transparent and unaware service bus, encapsulate cross domain service protocol, establish virtual access, and complete service invocation. Through the signature verification technology, the service message is tampered in the communication, the communication security of the service invocation is guaranteed, the rights of the service are obtained through the authorization and the security of the service invocation cross the security region. The integrated service invocation technology cross the security region has been applied in Jiangsu Province, Beijing and Hangzhou. It provides a safe and stable support for the construction of the grand operation system, and provides a powerful guarantee for the efficient operation of the power grid.

China is the world’s leading installer of wind turbines. Attention is rapidly rising in China to the potential of offshore wind. We utilize the SWITCH-China power sector capacity expansion model to explore the transformative role that offshore wind can play in China meeting the ambitious but critically needed 1.5 °C climate objective. We explore alternative energy mixes and analyze the resulting economic and CO2 emissions benefits of offshore wind as a major energy source for China. We find that offshore wind not only replaces coal-fired power plants, which dominate the energy mix in Chinese coastal regions, but also reduces the need for ultra-high-voltage (UHV) transmission lines to deliver the renewable energy generated in the West China to the coastal regions in the East. Offshore wind enables the coastal provinces to become a new hub of green electricity supply, with offshore wind could provide 2 % - 28.6 % of coastal generation (between 1% and 13.2% of total generation) by 2030 across cost-effective energy development scenarios. © 2020, The Authors. This article reviews the mainstream angular acceleration measurement techniques. Varieties of direct measurements, including rotational, solid mechanical inertial, fluid mechanical inertial, and microelectromechanical system angular accelerometer, are expanding in the practical applications of measurement and control systems. Recently researchers focus on microelec-tromechanical system and fluid-based sensors in light of increasing requirements for the measurement. In this review, we first investigated developments of angular acceleration measurements. Then we introduced one of the fluid-based sensors, a liquid-circular angular accelerometer, which is a novel angular sensor consisting of a porous transducer and an electrolyte solution chiefly. Eventually, we detailed recent works on this sensor's mechanism and the other aspects, e.g. significant properties of components and major research methodologies, and discussed its trade-off on performance with wide frequency, large dynamic range and high accuracy relatively, to show this sensor could bring advantages compared with other measurement methods.

To achieve the grid-connected operation performances evaluation of photovoltaic power stations, a grid-connected operation performance index system and the comprehensive evaluation method on photovoltaic power station grid-connected performances is presented. The rank sum ratio of each photovoltaic power station to reflect grid-connected performances is calculated by using the rank-sum ratio method. According to the rank sum ratio values, the comprehensive grid-connected performance of each photovoltaic power station is evaluated. The actual monitoring data of photovoltaic power stations are used to calculate performance indexes, and comprehensive evaluation on grid-connected performances of photovoltaic power station is verified. The obtained results show that the comprehensive grid-connected performance of the photovoltaic power station can be correctly evaluated by using the presented evaluation method.

To realize the grid security checking of large consumer direct electric quantity purchasing plan,a monthly security checking method of large consumer direct electric quantity purchasing based on grid partitions is presented in the *** the method,a power grid is divided into security partitions containing a certain number of units and loads,and the monthly electric quantity decomposition and the daily electric quantity decomposition models with the constraints of electric quantity and power in the partition being considered are *** the power flow of the tie line is less than the allowed stability limit value is one of the constraints in the electric quantity trading of different *** partition electric quantity deviation is reflected in the form of slack variables in the constraint conditions,and the minimum slack variable is used as the optimization target to optimize the built *** realize the monthly security checking of the contract electric quantity,the monthly contract electric quantity is decomposed to days considering electric quantity constraints,and the daily electric quantity is decomposed to hours combining the output levels of ***,an example of the IEEE 39 node test case is constructed,and the effectiveness and feasibility of the presented security checking method is verified by setting different direct power purchasing electric quantity of units.

We propose an event-triggered control policy for a discrete-time linear system with unreliable actuators' and sensors' links, captured by Bernoulli packet dropout models. The proposed policy is a threshold-based policy by which transmissions occur if a weighted norm of an error state vector exceeds a threshold. The threshold and the weights of the norm depend on the underlying characteristics of the packet dropout model. Such a policy is shown to guarantee a given performance, defined in terms of a quadratic cost, while reducing transmissions. The proposed event-triggered control policy is experimentally validated in the context of remotely steering an omni-directional ground robot along a predefined trajectory over an unreliable wireless network, while keeping transmissions to a minimum.

Increasing performance demands on industrial motion systems often lead to more expensive hardware components and thus a high bill of materials. Given this trend, it is of interest to find solutions that still can provide good performance, but can be used to reduce the overall bill of materials. In this paper, such a solution is proposed by sharing actuation resources between several actuators and using advanced motion control algorithms for the resulting switched system to meet the performance requirements. Obviously, by the sharing of resources, less hardware components are needed, thereby significantly lowering the bill of materials. We demonstrate this solution on an industrial SCARA robot, where it is proposed to use a single amplifier to serve several actuators, rather than a separate amplifier for each actuator. Based on a switched nonlinear model of the robot, switched PID-type controllers are explored that connect to the industrial control practice. The potential of the proposed approach is shown both in simulations and real experiments on an industrial SCARA robot. © 2017
