This paper presents a new template matching algorithm in which the central moments are used as the matching features and the idea of integral image are used to decrease the time for image matching process. The algorithm also combines coarse-fine two-stage searching methods to effectively solve the problem of finding the peak point of the correlation functions accurately and robustly. It is different with traditional methods in which pixels are used as matching features. Experiment results show that the image process procedure can be finished within 40 ms, which is the rate of image signal send from TV camera for real time object tracking. The results has broad applications in the fields of real time moving object tracking, pattern recognition and the machine vision, etc.

The subscription language is an important design decision for distributed event notification services (DENS). In order to minimize resource consumption and enable applications to use rich and complex subscription languages only when they are really needed, we have developed a DENS that separates the concerns of delivering subscriptions and notifications from the subscription specification and event filtering, i.e., the subscription language. To resolve the conflict between subscription language independence in DENS and a strict decoupling of publishers and subscribers through the DENS, we request that for each new subscription language three language specific plug-ins are provided. In this paper, we present the technical details of this solution and describe our proof-of-concept implementation that supports a simple attribute-value based subscription language and a fuzzy concept-based language. The aim of SETH is to give end-users specific advice concerning treatment and monitoring of adult drug poisoning. SETH is developed with an off the shelf expert system shell (KBMS) and runs on a microcomputer. Technical choices were done according to this analysis, financial considerations and portability. Currently, the database contains 1000 French drugs from 75 different toxicological classes. The SETH expert system simulates the expert reasoning, taking into account for each toxicological class delay, signs and dose. Two phases of evaluation were performed. The experimental implementation of Seth began in April 1992 in our Poison control Centre. Since then, 1100 cases inputted by residents were analysed by SETH. The extension of the knowledge base to child poisoning began in March 1993.

The paper proposes an approach to position-force control in the underwater vehicle-manipulator systems. There are two different strategies to realize position-force controlsystems: through a decoupled or coupled controller. The first one is more flexible and is used in the present article as a PID-controllers array. The paper considers the generalized system design methodology applicable to control objects of any kinematic structure. Compensation blocks for manipulator disturbances and calculation of additional end-effector offset to maintain a constant force on the operating point are proposed. The system also utilizes the desired underwater vehicle position calculation based on the relativity of the vehicle position and operating point for a heading set point. The modeling results showed that the system is able to perform qualitatively force operations in a given point of the working space. In addition, the graphs revealed the compensator unit efficiency and confirmed the necessity of the additional offset calculation unit.
