In today's world of pandemic era, it is important to develop new ways of e-learning. E-learning is also associated with finding creative innovation as a part of digital learning, which includes a variety of IT tools as multimedia and smart tools. The article is focused on preparing and implementing innovative tools in computer science teaching. Computer science teaching is traditionally based on explicit exact knowledge. It leads to memorizing the steps or searching the ready solutions on websites from the students' side. In the article, we analyse the problems of computer science teaching online and the experience of using a few innovative elements in e-learning courses last year. Based on gained experience we choose appropriate tools for collaboration, interactivity, tools that record the sequence of steps, and tools for creating scenarios, focusing on gamification in teaching. The aim of the article comes from such experience and shows examples of how to implement multimedia and tools in a creative way for algorithmization and programming. We also try to use the interaction with the chatbot, which responds directly to the students' suggestions and helps them with basic terms. The specific results of our analyses and practical use are discussed and supported with figures. © 2024 IEEE.

Any business processes in an enterprise are associated with the need to periodically assess possible risk situations. Today, assessing risks in order to control them is not enough. It is necessary to continuously, cyclically and on an ongoing basis carry out risk management, which has already become an integral part of the management of the organization. However, the complexity of assessing and analyzing events associated with an unfavorable outcome dictates to organizational systems, which include the subject area considered in the work - a cargo port, the need to develop and use tools that allow for a comprehensive assessment of activities from the point of view of possible risks, including the possibility of cognitive evaluation of each of the results obtained. Risks are considered as situations of failure to meet goals, as well as target standards. The developed balanced scorecard (BS) contains a set of goals and indicators that complement them. In addition to this, through multi-level hybrid and scenario LP risk models of a cargo port, logical and probabilistic connections between goals, indicators and risks arising at all three levels of management are formulated. The basis of the ontological model is knowledge about the above-mentioned connections, the integrated use of which through appropriate queries allows you to choose ways to bypass risk situations under the existing specified conditions. The query results form experimental scenarios with a multi-approach simulation model and allow you to obtain quantitative estimates of indicators, goals and risks. Taking into account all available stochastic characteristics, influencing factors, and also based on information about the results of the experiment, the decision maker formulates the values of the parameters of the original organizational system necessary to adjust in order to prevent the development and aggravation of risk events. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an original theoretical framework to model steel material properties in continuous casting line process. Specific properties arising from non-Newtonian dynamics are herein used to indicate the natural convergence of distributed parameter systems to fractional order transfer function models. Data driven identification from a real continuous casting line is used to identify model of the electromagnetic actuator device to control flow velocity of liquid steel. To ensure product specifications, a fractional order control is designed and validated on the system. A projection of the closed loop performance onto the quality assessment at end production line is also given in this paper.

Reliability is a crucial aspect of non-volatile NAND flash memories, and it is essential to thoroughly analyze the channel to prevent errors and ensure accurate readout. Es-timating the read reference voltages (RRV s) is a significant challenge due to the multitude of physical effects involved. The question arises which features are useful and necessary for the RRV estimation. Various possible features require specialized hardware or specific readout techniques to be usable. In contrast we consider sparse histograms based on the decision thresholds for hard-input and soft-input decoding. These offer a distinct advantage as they are derived directly from the raw readout data without the need for decoding. This paper focuses on the information-theoretic study of different features, especially on the exploration of the mutual information (MI) between feature vector and RRV. In particular, we investigate the dependency of the MI on the resolution of the histograms. With respect to the RRV estimation, sparse histograms provide sufficient information for near-optimum estimation. © 2023 IEEE.

Modern unstable conditions of the market environment dictate the need for transport logistics enterprises to predict possible risk situations in order to prevent them, as well as to develop tools that allow forming management decisions, evaluating the effectiveness of each of them and choosing the most appropriate one, taking into account specific tasks and various influencing factors. As risks, situations of failure to achieve the goals of the cargo port, as well as failure to achieve standard values by the indicators for assessing these goals are considered. Goals and indicators are indicated in the constructed balanced scorecard (BSC). A set of links between goals and indicators for their assessment with risks at various levels of management is presented in the form of a developed multi-level hybrid logical-probabilistic (LP) risk model of the cargo port, as well as in detailed scenario models of this LP model. The ontological model contains all the information about the interaction of elements that affect the onset of risky events, and allows you to select options for exiting a risky situation in accordance with various specified conditions. The simulation model allows, based on the results of requests to the ontological model and the scenarios of simulation experiments developed on their basis, to develop a management decision that allows avoiding risky situations in the longer term, taking into account all available stochastic characteristics and factors of influence. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper is proposed a Data Driven control (DDC) law of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) drive as an alternative to the Model Predictive control (MPC) strategy. The DDC method is designed for the inner control structure of the PMSM drive, the outer speed loop being employed by a classical linear PI controller. Thus, the DDC is based on build up a database of the relevant quantities as electromagnetic torque, speed, voltages and current, all obtained in steady-state regime with MPC strategy, being selected for the highest efficiency values for a given pair of speed and torque. The learning process of the DDC strategy by a mutidimesional interpolation method leads to obtain high performances in both steady-state and dynamic regimes, without any additional optimal current reference command. A comparative analysis done in Matlab simulation environment of the results obtained by both MPC and DDC control laws shows the effectiveness of the last strategies. The DDC method provide a robust optimal control under energetic constraints, being more suitable then the classical MPC law that can not offers reliable results for a large area of conditions in practice. © 2024 IEEE.

Automotive computing applications like AI databases, ADAS, and advanced infotainment systems have a huge need for persistent memory. This trend requires NAND flash memories designed for extreme automotive environments. However, the error probability of NAND flash memories has increased in recent years due to higher memory density and production tolerances. Hence, strong error correction coding is needed to meet automotive storage requirements. Many errors can be corrected by soft decoding algorithms. However, soft decoding is very resource-intensive and should be avoided when possible. NAND flash memories are organized in pages, and the error correction codes are usually encoded page-wise to reduce the latency of random reads. This page-wise encoding does not reach the maximum achievable capacity. Reading soft information increases the channel capacity but at the cost of higher latency and power consumption. In this work, we consider cell-wise encoding, which also increases the capacity compared to page-wise encoding. We analyze the cell-wise processing of data in triple-level cell (TLC) NAND flash and show the performance gain when using Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes. In addition, we investigate a coding approach with page-wise encoding and cell-wise reading. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper explores the impact of the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) presence on distribution grid operations, highlighting the challenges they present to conventional pricing strategies due to their dual role as power consumers and suppliers, coupled with their energy storage capabilities. We propose an advanced real-time pricing model for the electricity market, employing a novel distributed bilevel optimization framework. This framework distinguishes between the distribution system operator (DSO) at the upper level and the EVs at the lower level, each aiming to optimize profit margins. The optimization includes power flow constraints at the upper level to ensure efficient operation within safe system limits, while model predictive control (MPC) is used to optimize lower-level EV responses. Additionally, we provide a rigorous convergence analysis of the proposed bilevel optimization method. Detailed convergence studies and simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.
