Hypergraphs generalize graphs in such a way that edges may connect any number of nodes. If all edges are adjacent to the same number of nodes, the hypergraph is called uniform. Thus, a graph is a 2-uniform hypergraph. Each uniform hypergraph can be identified with an autonomous dynamical state-space system, whose vector field is composed of homogenous polynomials. We consider the observability of dynamical systems, which possess this special structure. In control theory, the observability of a dynamical system asks for the possibility to reconstruct the systems state from an output trajectory, where the output is a projective measurement of the systems state. In addition, one can ask for the observable subspace of the state. Nonlinear systems, although observable at almost all points in the state space, may possess not-locally observable ones. The existence and location of such states are important for observability analysis and observer design. Recently, the observability of these hypergraph systems has been studied for the general case. We apply an extended deterministic observability test to uniform hypergraphs and also compute the not-observable states for different linear output maps. We are able to confirm the results of the recent study, at least for graphs with a small number of nodes, due to the computational complexity of our method. In addition, the not-locally observable states are computed for different combinations of measured nodes. © 2025 The Author(s).

In this paper, a finite-horizon two-person Nash equilibrium game for a linear time-dependent differential system with delays (point-wise and distributed) in the state variable and the players’ control variables is considered. The behaviour of each player is evaluated by its own quadratic functional to be minimized by this player. The feature of this game is that a weight matrix of the control in the functional of one player is singular (but, in general, non-zero). Due to this feature, the game itself is singular. Using the regularization method and the asymptotic analysis of the regularized Nash equilibrium game, an open-loop Nash equilibrium solution to the considered singular game is derived. Illustrative example is presented. Along with this example, two examples on non-uniqueness of open-loop Nash equilibrium solutions to the singular game are presented. © National Research University Higher School of Economics. The optimization of equipment system combination is crucial for the pre-deployment decision-making of our military. In order to obtain advantageous equipment portfolio solutions, we establish a multi-layer network optimization model for equipment systems and introduce a novel multi-objective optimization algorithm for equipment portfolios in combat systems. Firstly, a multi-objective optimization model for equipment system combination recommendation is established, with the objective of optimizing combat network redundancy and vulnerability. Secondly, due to the complexity of the equipment system optimization model and the challenge of finding optimal equipment portfolios, we propose a clustering-assisted preselection multi-objective evolutionary algorithm called MECAP. This algorithm is designed to enhance the convergence of the population towards the optimal solution set. Additionally, the experimental results highlight the benefits of applying MECAP for offspring generation strategy after model sampling. © 2024 ACM.

The CeO_(2)-TiO_(2)@MnO_(x) catalyst was prepared by the co-precipitation method and applied to the photothermocatalysis system of ethyl acetate and NO simultaneous degradation under H_(2)O at low temperature,which introduced Ce into TiO_(2)@MnO_(x) hollow sptrera *** optimum TiO_(2)/MnO_(x) ratio and Ce introducing amount were obtained in the *** of them,the NO and ethyl acetate conversion percentage of TiO_(2)@MnO_(x)(n_(Mn):n_(Ti)=40:40)is 74%and 62%at 240℃,***_(2)-TiO_(2)@MnO_(x)(n_(Mn):n_(Ce)=1:1)exhibits the best catalytic performance,its efficiency for NO conversion is 83%and the conversion of ethyl acetate reaches 72%at 240℃.In addition,it is confirmed that the Cedoped nanocomposites have more uniform dispersion through various characterization and analysis ***,these catalysts have a large specific surface area as well as a large number of surface-active oxygen and oxygen *** can further improve the catalytic performance based on the adjusted ratio of active ***,this work investigated the relationship between multi-metal interactions and catalytic performance in the presence of H_(2)***,the possible reaction pathways for the simultaneous removal of NO and ethyl acetate were explored in our system.

This paper aims at applying optimal control principles to investigate optimal vaccination strategies in different phases of a pandemic. Background of the study is that many countries have started their vaccination procedures against the COVID-19 disease in the beginning of 2021, but supply shortages for the vaccines prevented that everyone could be vaccinated immediately. At the beginning of 2022, in contrast, the vaccine supply was ample, but the effectiveness of different existing vaccines to avoid infection by new virus variants was in doubt, as well as the acceptance of booster doses decreased over time. To account for these effects, two formulations of optimization tasks based on different epidemic models are proposed in this paper. The solution of these tasks determines optimal distribution strategies for available vaccines, and optimized vaccination schemes to reduce the need of booster doses for later phase. Effectiveness of these strategies compared with other popular strategies (as applied in practice) is demonstrated through a series of simulations © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The glucose–insulin subsystem has been modeled in different ways as a low-dimensional dynamical system. These models consist of various parameters, which are fitted such that the model coincides with specific experiments. For individuals with the Diabetes Mellitus syndrome model-based controllers for insulin injection have been proposed. These controllers, however, require the knowledge of the model parameters as well as the full systems state, which must be estimated as well. In addition, the system is disturbed by, in general, unknown carbohydrate intake. From a control-theoretic point of view, the state estimation using only the measurable glucose concentration is an observer problem. Due to the nonlinearity of the system, its observability is more difficult to test. There may also be some points in the state space, where the system is not locally observable for some parameters tuples. Those issues are important for a robust observer design. In this contribution, several observers are discussed for the widely used Bergman minimal model. These include unknown-input observers that make use of the special systems structure as well as observers based on the observability canonical form with different embedding dimensions. The canonical form is computed by algebraic methods. © 2024 The Author(s).

Hybrid teaching combines traditional teaching and flipped classroom, which is a new teaching mode with the advantages of both modes. In hybrid teaching mode, reasonable allocation of credit hours between traditional teaching and flipped classroom is an important issue for the teaching work. This paper first proposes a method of using hierarchical analysis to allocate credit hours for hybrid teaching of Digital Electronic Technology courses. Firstly, we divided hybrid teaching into stage and content layers, and determined the various elements of stage and content layers. Secondly, the requirements of the Analytic Hierarchy Process were applied to organize these two levels, and pairwise importance comparisons were made for each element within the level. Index judgment matrices were established for the stage level and content level, respectively. Then, the calculation steps of the Analytic Hierarchy Process were designed, and matrix operations were used to obtain the normalized weights of each element in the stage and content layers of traditional teaching and flipped classrooms. This weight was used to determine the class hours to be allocated for each stage and content. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper were verified using the example of hybrid teaching hour allocation in Chapter 4 of the Digital Electronic Technology course at Tianjin University of Technology. © 2024 IEEE.

Upcoming vehicle generations will provide fault-tolerant onboard power supply systems and an increasing level of driving automation. These changes contribute to the applicability of Steer-by-Wire (SbW) systems and the development of automated lateral vehicle guidance control functions. For the market acceptance of automated driving the lateral vehicle guidance control function must be cooperative, that implies it must permit driver interventions. This contribution proposes a cooperative control concept for the Handwheel Actuator (HWA) of a SbW system, which enables a true coexistence between steering position and steering torque control. The controller performs precise tracking of the reference steering position provided by a lateral vehicle guidance controller. In the event of a driver intervention, the driver can override the active control and experiences a natural steering feel. In contrast to existing approaches, the transitions hereby are seamless as no gain scheduling, switching or controller output saturation are required. Moreover, a consistent control performance is ensured. After the derivation of a mathematical system model, identification, and model evaluation, the cooperative control concept is systematically designed. Besides a frequency domain analysis of the nominal control performance and stability, real vehicle tests are conducted to verify simulation results and get a representative view of the controller performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer-Verlag GmbH, DE, part of Springer Nature 2025.
