As the chemical processes become more and more complicated, it is crucial but also difficult to detect and diagnose faults in the system than ever. With the development of machine learning algorithms and cloud computing, to monitor chemical processes completely with the help of big data become true. However, most machine learning methods suffer from unexplainable problem. By employing Explainable Artificial Intelligence(XAI) techniques, this paper applies two kinds of unsupervised machine learning methods, One-Class Support Vector Machine and Depth-based Isolation Forest Feature Importance, to detect and diagnosis faults in a chemical process. By combining two different fault explanation methodologies, accuracy and reliability of the fault diagnosis results can be achieved by the validation in a simulated continuous stirred tank reactor. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes a compound control strategy which is generated by the combination of fractional-order proportional-integral-derivative (FOPID) and the active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) to improve temperature control accuracy for melting period of vacuum induction furnace. The method of ADRC does not rely on the accurate mathematical model of the controlled system. Due to the exist of the extended state observer, the ADRC can compensate the influence of the system on the output in a larger range, which is very suitable for the temperature control system of vacuum induction furnace with uncertainty. The method of FOPID control can improve the control quality of the system with the addition of two free variables. The robustness and capacity of resisting disturbance of the proposed method was verified by the simulation results. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press.

Aiming at the 72.5 kV metal-enclosed combination electrical appliance (GIS) in which the bushing is prone to local discharge and discharge along the surface, a bushing optimization design method is proposed. Firstly, the dry air insulated GIS bushing model in the paper follows the SF6 gas insulated bushing model and carries out electric field simulation calculations on it, and the simulation results show that the electric field distribution is not uniform at the high-voltage end of the shielding cover and the outer surface of the epoxy resin and there is a high electric field in the local area, which is 20.03 kV/mm and 7.94 kV/mm, respectively, and it can not satisfy the dry air insulation. Secondly, two structural optimization schemes are proposed for the existence of high electric field: optimizing the structure of bushing high-voltage end shielding cover;proposing to add grounded shielding net inside the bushing, and analyzing the influence of the shielding net length in the range of 30-80mm on the electric field distribution of the bushing. The two optimization schemes reduce the electric field of the high-voltage end shield and the outer surface of epoxy resin to 10.60kV/mm and 4.84kV/mm respectively, and the maximum field strength of the epoxy resin casting body is lower than that of the epoxy resin with a maximum endurance strength of 30kV/***, the optimized bushing is subjected to the frequency withstand voltage test, partial discharge test and the lightning impact investigative test, and the results of which show that the bushing meets the design requirements. The test results show that the bushing meets the design requirements.t. © 2024 IEEE.

To solve the problem of improving the prediction accuracy of thermal station, multi-strategy fusion Sparrow Search Algorithm to optimize the Neural Network prediction method. First, the acquired data is preprocessed to ensure the continuity of the data;second, the Pearson Correlation Coefficient method is used to determine the input feature variables and construct the data set through the data;and finally, Sparrow Search Algorithm and multi-strategy fusion Sparrow Search Algorithm respectively optimizes Back Propagation Neural Network and Long Short-Term Memory Neural Network models for heat supply prediction. After example verification and comparison, the multi-strategy fusion Sparrow Search Algorithm optimizes the Back Propagation Neural Network model with the minimum prediction error, which effectively improves the prediction accuracy. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). An improved quantum particle swarm algorithm for solving multi-objective fuzzy flexible job shop scheduling problem

Due to the dynamic nature of work conditions in the manufacturing plant, it is difficult to obtain accurate information on process processing time and energy consumption, affecting the implementation of scheduling solutions. The fuzzy flexible job shop scheduling problem with uncertain production parameters has not yet been well studied. In this paper, a scheduling optimization model with the objectives of maximum completion time, production cost and delivery satisfaction loss is developed using fuzzy triangular numbers to characterize the time parameters, and an improved quantum particle swarm algorithm is proposed to solve it. The innovations of this paper lie in designing a neighborhood search strategy based on machine code variation for deep search;using cross-maintaining the diversity of elite individuals, and combining it with a simulated annealing strategy for local search. Based on giving full play to the global search capability of the quantum particle swarm algorithm, the comprehensive search capability of the algorithm is enhanced by improving the average optimal position of particles. In addition, a gray target decision model is introduced to make the optimal decision on the scheduling scheme by comprehensively considering the fuzzy production cost. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted for test and engineering cases and compared with various advanced algorithms. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the compared ones regarding convergence speed and precision in optimal-searching. The method provides a more reliable solution to the problem and has some application value. © 2023 - IOS Press. All rights reserved.

In this paper, the obstacle avoidance formation control problem of unmanned ground vehicles(UGVs) is discussed with a game-theoretic approach. Specifically, each UGV needs to track the target point and avoid obstacles in real-time while the UGVs system is in cooperative formation. Based on the Nash equilibrium seeking method, the UGVs formation problem is transformed into a non-cooperative game problem among UGVs, an obstacle avoidance term is added to the cost function and a controller is designed. It is proved that under the action of the designed controller, the UGVs system can achieve the formation mode of goal equilibrium. Finally, the validity of the results is attested by simulation. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper explains in detail the development, validation and simulation of a standard PI controller that can boost the WECS (Wind energy conversion system) power through two strategies. In the first strategy, the power is boosted by increasing the generator angular velocity through the direct increase of the angular velocity of the wind turbine rotor by slightly pitching the blades. In the second strategy, the power is boosted by increasing the load torque of the generator, through the direct increase of the load torque of the wind turbine rotor. For achieving this goal, the following tasks have been accomplished: a wind energy conversion system nonlinear mathematical model has been developed, a gain scheduled proportional-integral (PI) controller as the baseline controller, and two gain scheduled proportional-integral (PI) power-boosting controllers for the two power-boosting strategies. For the power-boosting controllers, it is also presented a logic that switches between baseline and power booster controllers when certain wind speeds conditions are met. The response, stability, performance and the increase in the shaft torsion, tower and blades bending moments of the gain scheduled PI power-boosting controllers have been compared with the baseline controller. By comparing the output power response of the controllers, it can be seen that the power booster controllers boost the power when the defined conditions are met. Finally, for boosting the power of a WECS in certain conditions the most efficient way is by increasing the generator load torque, because this strategy increases the least the loading of the main components of a WECS. This power boosting strategy implementation it might require the change (or reinforcement) of the drive train shaft, if it cannot take the extra loading created by power boosting controller. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to the heavy haul rail's large single train capacity and strong impact on the track, the rails of heavy haul rail are prone to injuries, and the accurate detection and identification of injuries is the basis of intelligent operation and maintenance of the rails of heavy haul rail. However, the existing rail surface injury recognition methods mainly based on machine vision have the disadvantages of strong noise and limited field of view. Therefore, this paper proposes a detection method based on the fusion of profile data and vibration signals. The profile data has high accuracy, but it has the disadvantages of low detection rate and low accuracy of a single profile. The vibration signal is easy to measure, but it is easy to be interfered, and the vibration signals of some injuries will reflect the same characteristics. The respective defects are overcome by fusion of the two. The experimental results show that the detection accuracy is effectively improved after the fusion of the two. The vibration signals are extracted and dimensionality reduced using stacked self-coding network, and then input into the classifier to obtain the classification results based on the vibration data. At the same time, the profile data and standard rails are matched, and then the wear sequence is generated by the DTW algorithm, and then the features are extracted by the PCA algorithm and classified to obtain the results based on the profile data. Finally, the two methods are fused at the decision level to obtain a new rail surface injury recognition and detection method based on the fusion of the two. © 2024 SPIE.

When it comes to the virtual machine tool assembly process, there are problems such as assembly errors.
