In the case of introducing the double integral state into the augmented vector, the time-varying delay square terms in the derivative of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) usually needs to be treated with some negative-determination lemmas in the existing literatures, which are only sufficient conditions and are conservative to some extent. In this work, by introducing some new augmented variables, some zero-valued equations are proposed to avoid the appearance of these time-varying delay square terms, which have great potential to reduce the conservatism. Then, a stability result in terms of linear matrix inequalities is derived via the presented zero-valued equations. Finally, a representative example is provided to testify the usefulness and meliority of the raised stability criterion. © 2022 IEEE.

Visual inspection of dual-energy X-ray radiographic images of cabin baggage requires high performance, but is hindered by various challenges such as low target prevalence, variability in target visibility, possible presence of multiple targets, and security personnel fatigue and inattention. Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, particularly deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs), have shown promise in improving the automatic detection of explosives, even with low-resolution radiographic images, especially in high baggage throughput scenarios. In this paper, we focus on the detection of detonators as components of improvised explosive devices. The proposed approach involves comparing two experiments implemented in a deep CNN architecture using TensorFlow and Keras libraries. In the first experiment, raw dual-energy radiographic images without any enhancement were used. The second experiment includes three methods for contrast enhancement and feature extraction: the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) method, the wavelet transform-based method, and the mixed CLAHE RGB-Wavelet method. In the latter two methods, Haar, Db2, Coif2, and Sym2 mother wavelet functions at two levels (HH and HL) were employed. The analysis of results focuses on a comparative study of performance measures such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. It was found that the preprocessing methods used in experiment 2, for the two evaluated classes (detonator and no detonator), achieved higher accuracy compared to the raw radiographic images used in experiment 1 (98.08%). The highest accuracies in experiment 2, with a value of 100%, were obtained with the CLAHE method (green channel in grayscale, blue channel in grayscale, and RGB channels) and the wavelet transform method with Haar mother wavelet at two levels HL

In this paper, we propose a 3D memristive chaotic circuit, in which both its dynamical behaviors and the preassigned-time stability are analyzed. First, we design a chaotic circuit utilizing the KNOWM memristor model, and confirm the presence of chaos through phase portrait. Subsequently, we develop a switching controller, which successfully achieves the preassigned-time stability of the memristive chaotic circuit. Ultimately, the validity of our theoretical findings is substantiated through rigorous numerical simulations.

Since piezoelectric actuating mechanism generally operate in high frequency response state, fatigue life has become an important factor influencing the performance and reliability of the entire drive mechanism. In order to investigate whether the designed piezoelectric ceramic actuator meets the active control requirements of the aero-engine, the paper analyzes the fatigue characteristics and fatigue life of the piezoelectric ceramic materials and the micro displacement amplification mechanism with finite element analysis software and the optimal spacing value is obtained by studying the effect of the flexible hinge spacing on the fatigue characteristics of the displacement amplifier. And then, the fatigue life of the displacement amplifier is analyzed based on the drive load spectrum of the aircraft during simulated flight, whose result is 340.93 hours. Finally, the fatigue life of the piezoelectric actuating mechanism is 32 minutes when loaded with full power, which meets the design target initially. © 2023 IEEE.

Objectif: La prévalence de la goutte augmente, mais les études analysant ses caractéristiques cliniques dans de grands échantillons sont insuffisantes. Cette étude s'attache à clarifier les changements dans les manifestations cliniques de la goutte en Chine au cours des dix dernières années et à analyser les caractéristiques cliniques et les facteurs de risque de la goutte précoce. Méthodes: Les manifestations cliniques de la goutte ont été comparées chez 9754 patients reçus pour la première fois dans notre établissement entre 2008 et 2012 (premier groupe) ou entre 2013 et 2018 (dernier groupe). La goutte apparue ≤ 30 ans a été définie comme goutte précoce et > 30 ans, comme goutte tardive. Les caractéristiques cliniques et les facteurs de risque ont été comparés entre les groupes. Résultats: La goutte est apparue 4,14 ans plus tôt dans le dernier groupe (2013-2018, 5979 patients) et le pourcentage de goutte précoce (3827 patients) y était plus élevé. La durée de la maladie était significativement plus courte (5,72 ± 0,09 contre 6,01 ± 0,11, p < 0,05) et la proportion de patients présentant des tophi était plus faible dans le dernier groupe (20,0% contre 22,0%, p<0,05). Le dernier groupe comptait davantage de patients obèses (37,7% contre 32,6%, p < 0,001) et l'uricémie y était significativement plus élevée (485,5 ± 1,5 Μmol/l contre 465,0 ± 1,9 Μmol/l). Comme la goutte survenait à un âge plus jeune, nous avons appliqué une régression logistique multivariée et déterminé que des antécédents familiaux positifs, le sexe masculin, l'obésité, une uricémie élevée et la consommation de sodas sucrés étaient des facteurs prédictifs indépendants de goutte précoce. Conclusion: Les manifestations de la goutte en Chine ont évolué au cours des dix dernières années, avec notamment une tendance à une apparition plus précoce. © 2021

Oscillation is a significant indication of the deterioration of control system performance and needs to be carefully monitored to ensure safe and stable process operations. However, industrial processes are often prone to noisy artifacts and nonstationary trends, resulting in low signal-to-noise ratios. In order to tackle this problem, this study introduces a novel framework for enhanced trend removal and noise reduction, which is featured by the following steps:(i) The circulant singular spectrum analysis (CiSSA) is used to decompose oscillation data into several reconstructed components (RCs). (ii) The estimated power spectral density (PSD) of these RCs is then smoothed using the Savitzky-Golay filter (SGF) to eliminate noise and identify the RCs corresponding to oscillatory components. (iii) These identified RCs are subsequently reconstructed to produce purified oscillatory data. The effectiveness of the suggested approach is validated using simulations and real-world industrial case studies. The findings indicate that the method notably enhances the quality of oscillatory data.

In the noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) era, the capabilities of variational quantum algorithms are greatly constrained due to a limited number of qubits and shallow depth of quantum circuits. We may view these variational quantum algorithms as weak learners in supervised learning. Ensemble methods are general approaches to combining weak learners to construct a strong one in machine learning. In this paper, by focusing on classification, we theoretically establish and numerically verify a learning guarantee for quantum adaptive boosting (AdaBoost). The supervised learning risk bound describes how the prediction error of quantum AdaBoost on binary classification decreases as the number of boosting rounds and sample size increase. We further empirically demonstrate the advantages of quantum AdaBoost by focusing on a 4-class classification. The quantum AdaBoost not only outperforms several other ensemble methods, but also in the presence of noise, it can surpass the ideally noiseless but unboosted primitive classifier after only a few boosting rounds. Our work indicates that in the current NISQ era, introducing appropriate ensemble methods is particularly valuable in improving the performance of quantum machine learning algorithms. In dynamic optimization problems where optimal solutions change over time, traditional ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithms face limitations. This study explores the adaptation of multi-colony ACO algorithms, known for their enhanced search capabilities in stationary problems, to tackle optimization problems in dynamic environments. Various strategies for exchanging information between colonies, which is a critical factor influencing algorithm performance, are investigated. Using the dynamic traveling salesman problem as a foundation, we generate test cases to reflect real-world complexities. Our results on a set of problem instances reveal that the choice of communication strategy between colonies significantly impacts the adaptability and efficiency of multi-colony ACO algorithms in tracking moving optimum.

Accurately and promptly quantifying stiction is crucial for valve maintenance in industrial settings and ensuring the stability of control loop performance. However, current Hammerstein-based stiction quantification methods overlook valve dynamics, potentially leading to inaccurate quantification. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel stiction quantification method based on an adaptive differential evolution algorithm. In addition to considering the impact of valve dynamics on stiction, the proposed method demonstrates a certain level of robustness against the interference of unknown noise. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through a series of simulations and industrial case studies.

We develop a first-order accelerated algorithm for a class of constrained bilinear saddle-point problems with applications to network systems. The algorithm is a modified time-varying primal-dual version of an accelerated mirror-descent dynamics. It deals with constraints such as simplices and convex set constraints effectively, and converges with a rate of O(1/t2). Furthermore, we employ the acceleration scheme to constrained distributed optimization and bilinear zero-sum games, and obtain two variants of distributed accelerated algorithms.
