Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) serve diverse applications but susceptible to malicious attacks. Limited research has explored the impact of protected nodes on worm propagation within WSNs, considering differential dynamics. Quantitative investigation of WSN worm propagation models, incorporating focused protection, is conducted using the Holling-II class predator-prey model. This work is focused on: 1. Establishing local and global asymptotic stability conditions. 2. Investigating Hopf bifurcation and identifying key parameters. 3. Determining conditions for Hopf bifurcation. 4. Discussing bifurcation direction and periodic solution stability. 5. Deriving parameter thresholds for transitioning from viral to virus-free equilibrium. Based on these findings, a virus prevention and control scheme is designed. Theoretical analysis and numerical experiments validate the model’s utility as a reference for network worm prevention and control.

In the medical system, it is crucial to hold patient past health records to give the correct treatment to the patient and ensure the medical practitioner's physical health safety. The 'PatiCare' patient healthcare monitoring system is a promising alternative to the conventional method of checking the human body and checking the patient health record. Despite the ongoing investigation, an outbreak of a pan-demic disease called COVID-19 it creates a situation involving exposure to a danger to medical practitioners. In this paper, we implement a Patient Care Monitoring system called PatiCare to reduce viral diseases affection risk. We use IoT and WEB service for communication with users or patients and take his past health record and a doctor can check remotely to his patient. Our implemented prototype gathers biomedical and orientation information through sensors and re-serves it in a WEB Server. A doctor or a medical practitioner is able to assign medicine remotely and monitor patient instant health. © 2021 IEEE.

Dust storm not only reduces visibility of natural scene, but also affects capture capability of outdoor monitoring equipment. Image dedusting aims to remove dust storm in images and make image scenes clearer. However, most of existing image enhancement-based methods have focused on defogging and deraining, and have paid little attentions to image dedusting. Therefore, research of image dedusting is necessary. In this paper, we presented an end-to-end network for single image dedusting. First, the proposed method uses an encoder module to encode a dusty image into image feature maps. Second, it uses the latest smoothed dilated residual convolution module to alleviate gridding artifacts caused by a widely-used dilated convolution. Third, it adopts an attention-based module to fuse image features at different levels and extract more contextual image information. Finally, it utilizes a decoder module, which decodes the feature maps, to obtain a residue, and adds it to the input dusty image to obtain the final image dedusting result. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in image dedusting. © 2020 IEEE.

This work studies formal verification of continuous-time continuous-space systems with unknown dynamics against safety specifications. The proposed framework is based on a data-driven construction of barrier certificates using which the safety of unknown systems is verified via a finite set of data collected from trajectories of systems with a priori guaranteed confidence. In the proposed scheme, we first cast the original safety problem as a robust convex program (RCP). Since the unknown model appears in one of the constraints of the proposed RCP, we provide the scenario convex program (SCP) corresponding to the original RCP by collecting finite numbers of data from systems' evolutions. We then establish a probabilistic closeness between the optimal value of SCP and that of RCP. Accordingly, we formally quantify the safety guarantee of unknown systems based on the number of data and the required level of safety confidence. Motivations. In the past few years, formal methods have become a promising approach to analyze dynamical systems against high-level logic properties, e.g., those expressed as linear temporal logic (LTL) formulae, in a reliable way. In this regard, barrier certificates, as a discretization-free approach, have received significant attention as a useful tool for formal analysis of complex dynamical systems. In particular, barrier certificates are Lyapunov-like functions defined over the state space of systems subjected to a set of inequalities on both the function itself and its time derivative along the flow of the system. The existence of such a function provides a formal certificate for the safety of the system [1, 2]. To employ the proposed approaches in the setting of barrier certificates, one needs to know precise models of dynamical systems and, hence, those approaches are not applicable where the model is unknown. Traffic efficiency and air pollutants are major issues in urban transport systems, as they are critical points for traffic flows and people living in urban areas, respectively. In response to this challenge, connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV s) have garnered increasing attention, with the potential to address the above challenges through cooperative maneuvering and real-time communication. In this paper, we consider an intersection served by a multi-access edge computing (MEC) where CAVs communicate with a controller to pass the intersection without the need of signals and without stopping unless in presence of heavy congestion. For this purpose, we propose a first-in-first-scheduled (FIFS) algorithm, and we specify the communication protocol for its practical implementation. The solution is validated through simulations with varying traffic densities, showing that it provides significant gains in travel time and emissions compared to both uncontrolled intersections, with or without traffic lights, and a benchmark solution derived from the literature.

This paper considers a Min-Max Multiple Traveling Salesman Problem (MTSP), where the goal is to find a set of tours, one for each agent, to collectively visit all the cities while minimizing the length of the longest tour. Though MTSP has been widely studied, obtaining near-optimal solutions for large-scale problems is still challenging due to its NP-hardness. Recent efforts in data-driven methods face challenges of the need for hard-to-obtain supervision and issues with high variance in gradient estimations, leading to slow convergence and highly sub-optimal solutions. We address these issues by reformulating MTSP as a bilevel optimization problem, using the concept of imperative learning (IL). This involves introducing an allocation network that decomposes the MTSP into multiple single-agent traveling salesman problems (TSPs). The longest tour from these TSP solutions is then used to self-supervise the allocation network, resulting in a new self-supervised, bilevel, end-to-end learning framework, which we refer to as imperative MTSP (iMTSP). Additionally, to tackle the high-variance gradient issues during the optimization, we introduce a control variate-based gradient estimation algorithm. Our experiments showed that these innovative designs enable our gradient estimator to converge 20× faster than the advanced reinforcement learning baseline, and find up to 80% shorter tour length compared with Google OR-Tools MTSP solver, especially in large-scale problems (e.g. 1000 cities and 15 agents).

The reliability analysis of nuclear power conventional island instrument power supply system is an important part of the reliability research of nuclear power unit. Aiming at the structural characteristics of nuclear power meter power supply system, the reliability analysis method of instrument power supply system based on Monte Carlo-dynamic fault tree is proposed. According to the component composition and connection logic of the instrument power supply system, the dynamic fault tree model is established and Monte Carlo simulation is used to calculate the probability importance index of each component of the system, and suggestions for improving the reliability of the system are proposed. The simulation results show that the method can effectively and accurately quantitatively analyze the reliability of the instrument power supply system, and has the characteristics of strong applicability and high calculation efficiency. It has important guiding significance for the design and transformation of other instrument power supply systems. © 2021 IEEE.

We consider distributionally robust optimal control of stochastic linear systems under signal temporal logic (STL) chance constraints when the disturbance distribution is unknown. By assuming that the underlying predicate functions are Lipschitz continuous and the noise realizations are drawn from a distribution having a concentration of measure property, we first formulate the underlying chance-constrained control problem as stochastic programming with constraints on expectations and propose a solution using a distributionally robust approach based on the Wasserstein metric. We show that by choosing a proper Wasserstein radius, the original chance-constrained optimization can be satisfied with a user-defined confidence level. A numerical example illustrates the efficacy of the method.
