Preventative diagnosis and maintenance of transformers has become more popular in recent times in order to improve the reliability of electric power systems. A number of transformers have recently been tested using Return Voltage (RV) and Dielectric Dissipation Factor (tanδ) measurements in the time and frequency domain, respectively. This paper outlines a circuit model which describes the dielectric behaviour of the transformer insulation system and has been parameterised from the frequency domain data. This model was then used to simulate RV and Polarisation-Depolarisation current (PDC) results. Some recommendations about the diagnosis of the transformers have been proposed. © Institution of Engineers.

In recent years,the study of explosive synchronization(ES) has been extended to multilayer networks by using different *** this paper,the synchronous transition of multilayer networks with inter-layer competition and inter-layer cooperation is studied,and it is found that ES occurs in both two layers when the proportion of interlayer cooperation is large *** addition,we study ES separately in terms of oscillator dynamics and network *** experiments show that ES occurs independently of the natural frequency ***,as the average degrees of networks increase,the critical coupling strength ***,the robustness of the results is confirmed by changing the network topology of each layer.

Experimental validation of a two-stage method for the identification of physical system parameters from experimental data is presented. The first stage compresses the data as an empirical model and the second stage then uses data extracted from the empirical model of the first stage within a non-linear estimation scheme to estimate the unknown physical parameters. The approach handles unstable systems using exponential weighting. © 2004 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a modified probabilistic neural network, and applied it to brain magnetic resonance (MR) image segmentation. Comparing to conventional probabilistic neural network (PNN), the so-called weighted probabilistic neural network (WPNN): 1) uses covariance matrices instead of singular smoothing factor in kernel function;2) adds weighting factors in pattern to summation layer. The WPNN is able to take partial volume effect, which exists commonly in MR. imaging, into account not only in the final resulting stage, but also in the modeling process. We adopt self-organizing map (SOM) neural network as the previous step of WPNN classifier, to quantize the input data. SOM yields reference vectors necessary for probabilistic density function estimation. A supervised "soft" labeling mechanism based on Bayesian algorithm is developed, such that weighting factors can be generated for each SOM reference vector. Tissue segmentation results from various algorithms are compared, and the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approach are demonstrated. © 2005 IEEE.

In this paper, we study the distributed containment control problem for networked Lagrangian systems with multiple stationary or dynamic leaders in the presence of parametric uncertainties under a directed graph that characterizes the interaction among the leaders and the followers. When the leaders are stationary, a distributed adaptive control algorithm is proposed. We present a necessary and sufficient condition on the directed graph such that all followers converge to the stationary convex hull spanned by the stationary leaders asymptotically. As a byproduct, we show a necessary and sufficient condition on leaderless consensus for networked Lagrangian systems under a directed graph. When the leaders are dynamic, two cases are considered: i) The leaders have constant vectors of generalized coordinate derivatives;ii) The leaders have varying vectors of generalized coordinate derivatives. In the first case, we propose a distributed continuous estimator and a distributed adaptive control algorithm. In the second case, we propose a distributed adaptive control algorithm combined with distributed sliding-mode estimators. In both cases, a necessary and sufficient condition on the directed graph is presented such that all followers converge to the dynamic convex hull spanned by the dynamic leaders asymptotically. © 2011 AACC American Automatic control Council.

Image denoising is a technology to restore the image by changing the information before and after the image sequence. The restored image will become very clear, and it is used a lot now. Due to the imperfect equipment, when the image is transmitted, it will be affected by noise, thus losing the original details. In order to solve this problem and make the noise image clear and obvious, this paper proposes an image denoising method based on deep learning, and constructs the image denoising network structure based on convolutional neural network. At the same time, the directional propagation algorithm is optimized to speed up the training speed of the model and effectively improve the denoising effect. By comparing the experimental data of the classical algorithm experiment, it is concluded that this study has achieved a better denoising effect. Finally, the key issues of image denoising research are summarized, and the development trend of future research in this field is discussed. © 2023 IEEE.

Mapping ontology vertices to a line using hypergraph framework

As a conceptual semantic tool, ontology is widely used in many disciplines such as genetics, nutrition, and social sciences. The key issues for ontology applications are similarity calculations and ontology alignment. In recent years, various machine learning methods and computational models have been widely used in ontology optimization and computation. The core idea is to map the entire ontology graph into one-dimensional data, such as on a real axis or on a natural number set. Through the analysis of the previous multi-dividing ontology algorithm, the technique of achieving dimensionality reduction comes from the pairwise comparison of the ontology sample vertices. The weakness of such tricks is that only two ontology vertices can be extracted for comparison at a time, which causes the number of vertex pairs to be compared in the optimization model to become very large as the totally ontology sample size increases. This paper proposes a new class of ontology learning strategies, which aims to arrange the ontology concepts into one-dimensional data according to the sequence of natural numbers. The ontology optimization model does not compare two ontology vertices, but compares a set of ontology vertices and calculates the weight of each vertex by means of random walk calculating. Each set of compared ontology vertices constitutes a hyperedge, and thus the ontology sample sets and the computational framework are represented by hypergraph and its associated bipartite graph. The algorithm proposed in this paper has potential guiding significance and theoretical value for engineering applications. In addition, two examples are presented to illustrate that our hypergraph based ontology learning algorithm is effective for a specific application background. © 2020
