Corona Virus Disease-2019(COVID-19)continues to spread rapidly in the *** has dramatically affected daily lives,public health,and the world *** paper presents a segmentation and classification framework of COVID-19 images based on deep ***,the classification process is employed to discriminate between COVID-19,non-COVID,and pneumonia by Convolutional Neural Network(CNN).Then,the segmentation process is applied for COVID-19 and pneumonia CT ***,the resulting segmented images are used to identify the infected region,whether COVID-19 or *** proposed CNN consists of four Convolutional(Conv)layers,four batch normalization layers,and four Rectified Linear Units(ReLUs).The sizes of Conv layer used filters are 8,16,32,and *** maxpooling layers are employed with a stride of 2 and a 2×2 *** classification layer comprises a Fully-Connected(FC)layer and a soft-max activation function used to take the classification decision.A novel saliencybased region detection algorithm and an active contour segmentation strategy are applied to segment COVID-19 and pneumonia CT *** acquired findings substantiate the efficacy of the proposed framework for helping the specialists in automated diagnosis applications.

Cancelable biometrics are required in most remote access applications that need an authentication stage such as the cloud and Internet of Things(IoT)*** objective of using cancelable biometrics is to save the original ones from hacking attempts.A generalized algorithm to generate cancelable templates that is applicable on both single and multiple biometrics is proposed in this paper to be considered for cloud and IoT *** original biometric is blurred with two co-prime ***,it can be recovered as the Greatest Common Divisor(GCD)between its two blurred *** changes if induced in the biometric image prior to processing with co-prime operators prevents the recovery of the original biometric image through a GCD ***,the ability to change cancelable templates is guaranteed,since the owner of the biometric can pre-determine and manage the minimal change induced in the biometric ***,we test the utility of the proposed algorithm in the single-and multi-biometric *** multi-biometric scenario depends on compressing face,fingerprint,iris,and palm print images,simultaneously,to generate the cancelable *** metrics such as Equal Error Rate(EER)and Area and Receiver Operator Characteristic curve(AROC)are *** results on single-and multi-biometric scenarios show high AROC values up to 99.59%,and low EER values down to 0.04%.

Towards Source-free Domain Adaptive Semantic Segmentation via Importance-aware and Prototype-contrast Learning

Domain adaptive semantic segmentation enables robust pixel-wise understanding in real-world driving scenes. Source-free domain adaptation, as a more practical technique, addresses the concerns of data privacy and storage limitations in typical unsupervised domain adaptation methods, making it especially relevant in the context of intelligent vehicles. It utilizes a well-trained source model and unlabeled target data to achieve adaptation in the target domain. However, in the absence of source data and target labels, current solutions cannot sufficiently reduce the impact of domain shift and fully leverage the information from the target data. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end source-free domain adaptation semantic segmentation method via Importance-Aware and Prototype-Contrast (IAPC) learning. The proposed IAPC framework effectively extracts domain-invariant knowledge from the well-trained source model and learns domain-specific knowledge from the unlabeled target domain. Specifically, considering the problem of domain shift in the prediction of the target domain by the source model, we put forward an importance-aware mechanism for the biased target prediction probability distribution to extract domain-invariant knowledge from the source model. We further introduce a prototype-contrast strategy, which includes a prototype-symmetric cross-entropy loss and a prototype-enhanced cross-entropy loss, to learn target intra-domain knowledge without relying on labels. A comprehensive variety of experiments on two domain adaptive semantic segmentation benchmarks demonstrates that the proposed end-to-end IAPC solution outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods. Grasp detection is an essential task in robotics with various industrial applications. However, traditional methods often struggle with occlusions and do not utilize language for grasping. Incorporating natural language into grasp detection remains a challenging task and largely unexplored. To address this gap, we propose a new method for language-driven grasp detection with mask-guided attention by utilizing the transformer attention mechanism with semantic segmentation features. Our approach integrates visual data, segmentation mask features, and natural language instructions, significantly improving grasp detection accuracy. Our work introduces a new framework for language-driven grasp detection, paving the way for language-driven robotic applications. Intensive experiments show that our method outperforms other recent baselines by a clear margin, with a 10.0% success score improvement. We further validate our method in real-world robotic experiments, confirming the effectiveness of our approach.

Bias-Eliminated Semantic Refinement for Any-Shot Learning

When training samples are scarce, the semantic embedding technique, i.e., describing class labels with attributes, provides a condition to generate visual features for unseen objects by transferring the knowledge from seen objects. However, semantic descriptions are usually obtained in an external paradigm, such as manual annotation, resulting in weak consistency between descriptions and visual features. In this paper, we refine the coarse-grained semantic description for any-shot learning tasks, i.e., zero-shot learning (ZSL), generalized zero-shot learning (GZSL), and few-shot learning (FSL). A new model, namely, the semantic refinement Wasserstein generative adversarial network (SRWGAN) model, is designed with the proposed multihead representation and hierarchical alignment techniques. Unlike conventional methods, semantic refinement is performed with the aim of identifying a bias-eliminated condition for disjoint-class feature generation and is applicable in both inductive and transductive settings. We extensively evaluate model performance on six benchmark datasets and observe state-of-the-art results for any-shot learning;e.g., we obtain 70.2% harmonic accuracy for the Caltech UCSD Birds (CUB) dataset and 82.2% harmonic accuracy for the Oxford Flowers (FLO) dataset in the standard GZSL setting. A cost-effective IoT-based real-time data acquisition and analysis hardware system was developed to enhance the performance of the mobile harbor cranes using a combination of a cost-effective quality control monitoring sensor dashboard (proximity sensors, angle position sensor, weight sensor, vibration sensor, and wind sensor), embedded microcontroller (Arduino), and embedded computer (Raspberry Pi). Hardware was operated using a specially developed novel Quality control and Data Acquisition Multiprocessing software (QC-DAS). The QC-DAS can automatically collect and save real-time data of the sensors in a large-capacity SD card, monitor the state of health of the hardware, and transmit the real-time data of the sensors and the working state of the crane to an IoT server. The novelty of the QC-DAS design is that each function is encapsulated in a predefined module that is “immersed” in a message transmission medium. Modules interact by sending and receiving various signals through this medium. Modularity makes system design simpler, faster, and flexible. Thanks to modularity, users may incorporate their data processing modules when new sensors are added to match the system's needs. Thanks to modularity the DC-DAS can operate quality control hardware for any mobile cranes. There are several constraints in the quality control data acquisition system used by the Damietta Port Authority in Damietta, Egypt, SESCO TRANS company which cause the loading and unloading process to be slowed down. As a result, the SESCO TRANS company upgraded its quality control data acquisition system using the QC-DAS. The hardware was deployed for six months, during which the collected data was used to verify the crane's performance. Fire is a serious disaster that endangers life and property worldwide. Accurate and prompt fire detection can provide early warning information for firefighting efforts. Deep learning-based object detection algorithms have proven to be useful in the field of fire detection. However, fire detection is a particularly challenging task, due to the low-resolution of fire images and the presence of blurring and deformation in the targets. Existing fire detection methods are limited by poor detection accuracy and slow speed in complex fire scenarios. To address these challenges, we propose a fire detection algorithm based on improved YOLOv5s. Firstly, the attention module is embedded into the network structure. We introduce this attention module into the last layer of the backbone to enhance feature extraction ability. Secondly, we modify the Neck structure to fully fuse different feature maps. Through fusing extra low-level features from the backbone, it utilizes various receptive fields to enhance the expression of feature. Thirdly, SIoU is introduced to achieve faster convergence during the training. SIoU take into account the direction of the mismatch to redefine penalty indicators. The experimental results show that our proposed algorithm outperforms commonly used models. Even compared to specific fire detectors, our model exhibits certain advantages.

Retinal vessel segmentation is important for the diagnosis of many diseases. The segmentation of microscopic vessels is one of the challenges because of the complex structure of retinal vessels, which makes it challenging to tell the vessels apart from the background. In order to improve the segmentation performance of retinal vessels, we use the edge detection method of HED to optimize the segmentation effect of UNet. Using Hybrid Dilated Convolution not only increases the perceptual field, but also avoids the loss of information continuity caused by the continuous use of dilated convolution. The Pyramid Pooling Module is used at the end of the encoder to compensate for the information loss caused by downsampling. Finally, the output of edge detection and image segmentation is combined as the final result. The model is evaluated in two mainstream datasets DRIVE and CHASE_DB1, and the experimental results show that the proposed model can improve the performance of retinal vessel segmentation.

There are many models of memristors, but there are no reports on exponential memristors. In this paper, a three- dimension memristor Rucklidge system with exponential memristor is proposed by introducing exponential function and constructing exponential memristor. The dynamic behavior of the system is analyzed by means of Lyapunov exponent and bifurcation diagram. The complex attractor coexistence and amplitude modulation characteristics of the system are found. The internal variable of memristor is introduced into the second two-dimensional equation as a feedback term, and a conditional symmetric system is constructed for the three-dimensional memristor system, which can realize the polarity control of output signal. By discussing the dynamic characteristics of exponential memristor chaotic system and the control mechanism of amplitude modulation, bias and conditional symmetry, the complex dynamic characteristics of exponential function memristor are revealed, which lays a foundation for its application in the field of secure communication. © 2023 IEEE.

Fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))and ozone(O_(3))pollutions are prevalent air quality issues in *** organic compounds(VOCs)have significant impact on the formation of O_(3)and secondary organic aerosols(SOA)contributing PM_(2.5).Herein,we investigated 54 VOCs,O_(3)and SOA in Tianjin from June 2017 to May 2019 to explore the non-linear relationship among O_(3),SOA and *** monthly patterns of VOCs and SOA concentrations were characterized by peak values during October to March and reached a minimum from April to September,but the observed O_(3)was exactly the *** learning methods resolved the importance of individual VOCs on O_(3)and SOA that alkenes(mainly ethylene,propylene,and isoprene)have the highest importance to O_(3)formation;alkanes(C_(n),n≥6)and aromatics were the main source of SOA *** learning methods revealed and emphasized the importance of photochemical consumptions of VOCs to O_(3)and SOA *** formation potential(OFP)and secondary organic aerosol formation potential(SOAFP)calculated by consumed VOCs quantitatively indicated that more than 80%of the consumed VOCs were alkenes which dominated the O_(3)formation,and the importance of consumed aromatics and alkenes to SOAFP were 40.84%and 56.65%,***,isoprene contributed the most to OFP at 41.45%regardless of the season,while aromatics(58.27%)contributed the most to SOAFP in ***,our findings can provide scientific evidence on policymaking for VOCs controls on seasonal scales to achieve effective reduction in both SOA and O_(3).
