The technological process of the churning process in continuous butter manufacture were considered. The qualitative indicator of the water content of butter was modeled on the basis of a set of industrial data using an artificial neural network (ANN). The prototype of an intelligent system for predicting of the water content of butter allows to increase the information support of the operator-technologist. The proposed model predicts the water content of butter with an error of less than 2%. The input variables of the forecast model prototype are cream fat content, cream ripening temperature, cream supply temperature, frequency of revolutions of the stirrer of the whipping device, and consumption of the normalizing component. Further research is aimed at the development of a decision support information system for dairy manufacture and should be integrated into the subsystem of automated control of the technological process to ensure proper functioning in real time. © 2022 IEEE.

The occurrence of intraoperative hypertension/ hypotension may cause danger to a patient. Therefore, the monitoring of blood pressure change during surgical operation is momentous for anesthetized patient undergoing surgical procedures. The invasive method of measuring arterial blood pressure (ABP) provides accurate and much information, but it requires evaluation by an anesthesiologist and with its long-term use, it also brings a higher risk of infection, and even some patients have pain and discomfort at the catheter placement site after surgery, so it is not suitable for all types of patients. On the other hand, non-invasive method of measuring cuff blood pressure provides little information because of non-continuous measurement. With the emerging of deep learning, there has been more and more discussion on whether non-invasive Photoplethysmography (PPG) can replace invasive ABP as an alternative to continuous BP measurement and even BP prediction. This paper aims to implement a deep learning model to predict SBP/DBP signal by PPG, PPG extended data and Electrocardiography (ECG) data. We trained the CNN-based architecture on preprocessed data including ECG, PPG, 1st and 2nd derivative PPG signal extracted from MIMIC-III(Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care III) waveform database matched subset to predict continuous ABP signals using real world data. The value of SBP and DBP are directly predicted to effectively estimate the accuracy of the predictions. The prediction results fulfill the grade A in British Hypertension Society (BHS) standard and most part of Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)'s standard. The proposed model has been applied for CHANGHUA CHRISTIAN HOSPITAL's IRB NO:191240. The results depict that our proposed model could effectively predict SBP/DBP signal and be deployed to the operating room realistically. © 2022 IEEE.

The paper presents the results of experimental studies of autonomous power supply sources formed according to the 'internal combustion engine-induction generator' scheme. Autonomous local sources of energy supply according to this scheme are formed from existing electromechanical and electrotechnical equipment of other functional purposes only for the period of electricity demand. Such sources of electricity are universal for welding and other technological equipment of military and civil, including agricultural, machinery. According to the results, the viability of the proposed concept of creating autonomous power supply sources based on motor vehicles and electrical equipment has been proven. The limits of guaranteed excitation and subsequent trouble-free operation of autonomous local sources of power supply with power to consumers of various categories have been established. © 2022 IEEE.

Constructing a holistic digital twin of a system composed of multiple physical domains is crucial for various tasks. In particular, when the simulation is extended with faults, it becomes a very important resource to achieve robust functional safety analysis. This article proposes a new methodology to build non-electrical fault models for the thermal domain. Such thermal faults are defined through an electrical circuit representing the thermal behavior of the system, known as the Cauer network, based on the physical analogies between the two domains. Including this thermal representation in a multi-domain system allows to simulate the interconnections between different physical domains, thus achieving a more realistic system behavior and evaluating the mutual impact of different domains (e.g., mechanical, electrical and thermal). The entire methodology is applied to a complex case of study implemented by using Verilog-AMS as a proof of concept.

The development of multi-cloud systems with an acceptable level of service delays that significantly affect the quality of the end-users experience is an open research problem, for which simulation is successfully used. This paper proposes a simulation model in Matlab for estimating the time to write data updates initiated by the end-users to the databases of all cloud service providers for a multi-cloud system with a geo-distributed middleware that implements, as an example, the VIP-grab data consistency protocol. The simulation results indicate that our model can be useful in choosing a data consistency protocol that influences the architecture of a multicloud system. © 2022 IEEE.

We introduce a method to evaluate the similarities between classes of objects based on the confusion matrices coming from the multi-class machine learning (ML) predictors that operate in the vector space generated by the classes. Operation in the confusion domain allows us to use the distance as evaluation metric of the closeness of the relevant properties carried by the classes. We applied the method to semiquantitatively evaluate the effects of X-ray and carbon ion radiation on cultured SW1353 chondrosarcoma cells with respect to the non-irradiated reference. We prove that it is possible to draw useful information on the strength of cells nuclei changes. © 2025, Politechnica University of Bucharest. All rights reserved.

Modern vehicles are increasingly vulnerable to attacks that exploit network infrastructures, particularly the controller Area Network (CAN) networks. To effectively counter such threats using contemporary tools like Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) based on data analysis and classification, large datasets of CAN messages become *** paper delves into the feasibility of generating synthetic datasets by harnessing the modeling capabilities of simulation frameworks such as Simulink coupled with a robust representation of attack models to present CARACAS, a vehicular model, including component control via CAN messages and attack injection capabilities. CARACAS showcases the efficacy of this methodology, including a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) model, and focuses on attacks targeting torque control in two distinct scenarios.

The fundamental trade-off between spatial resolution and imaging distance poses a significant challenge for current imaging techniques,such as those used in modern biomedical diagnosis and remote ***,we introduce a new conceptual method for imaging dynamic amplitude-phase-mixed objects,termed relay-projection microscopic telescopy(rPMT),which fundamentally challenges conventional light collection techniques by employing non-line-ofsight light collection through square-law relay-projection *** successfully resolved tiny features measuring 2.76μm,22.10μm,and 35.08μm for objects positioned at distances of 1019.0 mm,26.4 m,and 96.0 m,respectively,from single-shot spatial power spectrum images captured on the relay screen;these results demonstrate that the resolution capabilities of rPMT significantly surpass the Abbe diffraction limit of the 25 mm-aperture camera lens at the respective distances,achieving resolution improvement factors of 7.9,25.4,and *** rPMT exhibits long-distance,wide-range,high-resolution imaging capabilities that exceed the diffraction limit of the camera lens and the focusing range limit,even when the objects are obscured by a scattering *** rPMT enables telescopic imaging from centimeters to beyond hundreds of meters with micrometer-scale resolution using simple devices,including a laser diode,a portable camera,and a diffusely reflecting *** contemporary high-resolution imaging techniques,our method does not require labeling reagents,wavefront modulation,synthetic receive aperture,or ptychography scanning,which significantly reduce the complexity of the imaging system and enhance the application *** method holds particular promise for in-vivo label-free dynamic biomedical microscopic imaging diagnosis and remote surveillance of small objects.

Co-embodiment enables users to share a single virtual avatar with other users, robots, or autonomous agents. Recent studies explored co-embodiment usage in Virtual Reality and proved its potential in training scenarios as motor skill learning and retention can be improved. This paper investigates co-embodiment applied to high-accuracy tasks, which usually require high spatial and temporal accuracy. A virtual reality, multi-user application for welding tasks has been designed and developed. The application supports two different teaching approaches. In the learning-by-imitation approach, the trainer controls his avatar, whereas the trainee can observe the trainer performing the welding procedure and replicate the task by controlling his avatar. In the co-embodiment approach, both trainer and trainee control the same avatar and should work together to complete the task. An experiment has been proposed to compare the usability of the two approaches. Questionnaires and user interviews have been used to obtain subjective measures of the system’s usability. Users’ evaluation and feedback provided helpful insight into the proposed system and led to the definition of other possible approaches for designing co-embodiment interfaces for teaching high-accuracy tasks. Future research will be aimed at developing and testing these different paradigms.

Resilient Cooperative control of Multiple DC Microgrids With Interconnection Networks Against Cyber Attacks

The two control objectives of voltage regulation and precise current sharing are conflicting in multi-bus DC microgrids. In this paper, a distributed control strategy is proposed, and it can achieve accurate current sharing and regulate the voltage of a critical node to the rated value. However, such a distributed control system is susceptible to potential cyber attacks that could deteriorate microgrids performances by corrupting communication links or actuators. To overcome these difficulties, we design the interconnected communication networks to establish a resilient cooperative system of multiple microgrids against unknown bounded injection attacks. The proposed resilient control strategy can achieve the control objectives of maintaining voltage regulation and current sharing within each microgrids under different operating conditions, and the interconnected system consisting of multiple microgrids cooperates to mitigate the adverse effect of cyber attacks. The dynamics and stability of the overall close-loop system of the DC microgrids are analyzed, in the present or absent of cyber attacks. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in two 4-bus DC microgrids. © 2023 IEEE.
