With the developments of the Internet of Things, the demands of low latency, high bandwidth and high-performance computing has increased higher. Therefore, the distributed computing named Fog Computing has proposed to solve the problem above. Fog computing can provide lower transmission latency, faster response time and less network congestion. However, the fog devices are unable to guarantee the security and privacy of data transmission, due to they are vulnerable to attack. Blockchain technology works as a decentralized public ledger to store and share transactions. Blockchain can improve security and protect data privacy of Fog Computing. Moreover, there are still issues in the blockchain-enabled Fog Computing, the two main issues are the energy consumption and computing efficiency. Thus, in this paper, we propose an optimization framework for blockchain-enabled Fog Computing systems to optimize resource allocation. Besides, we adopt the dueling deep reinforcement learning to obtain the optimal resource allocation strategy, with dynamically selecting the fog server, offloading decision, block size. Simulation results show that the proposed framework can reduce the energy consumption and computation overhead of the system, as well as can improve the computing efficiency. © 2022 ACM.

This paper introduces a novel design method that enhances the force/torque, bendability, and controllability of soft pneumatic actuators (SPAs). The complex structure of the soft actuator is simplified by approximating it as a cantilever beam. This allows us to derive approximated nonlinear kinematic models and a dynamical model, which is explored to understand the correlation between natural frequency and dimensional parameters of SPA. The design problem is then transformed into an optimization problem, using kinematic equations as the objective function and the dynamical equation as a constraint. By solving this optimization problem, the optimal dimensional parameters are determined. Six prototypes are manufactured to validate the proposed approach. The optimal actuator successfully generates the desired force/torque and bending angle, while its natural frequency remains within the constrained range. This work highlights the potential of using optimization formulation and approximated nonlinear models to boost the performance and dynamical properties of soft pneumatic actuators. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

In this research, nature inspired metaheuristic optimization algorithms: Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Techniques are formulated to tune optimal combinations of PID controller parameters for a quadruple tank level control application. The degree of relation of the best paring for both interacted control loops are justified by using Relative Gain Array (RGA) calculation. The overall system has been modeled and implemented in MATLAB/Simulink and performance evaluations has been done for time domain performance specifications of settling time, rise time, percentage overshoot and steady state error as comparison criterions of controllers. Accordingly, for the minimum phase case, GA tuned PID has settling time of 0.36sec and 0.31second for the tank 1 and tank 2 respectively. And PSO tuned PID controller has settling time of 0.96sec and 0.35sec for tank 1and tank 2 respectively. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of results reveals that there is fast dynamic response using GA PID relative to PSO PID even though the difference is not significant that may be due to stochastic feature of the metahueristic optimization algorithms. In summary, the optimal combination of PID controller algorithms’ parameters can give robust performance compared to PID controller designed using the classical approaches or manual tuning techniques.

Secret key generation(SKG)is an emerging technology to secure wireless communication from ***,the SKG at the physical layer is an alternate solution over traditional cryptographic methods due to wireless channels’***,the physical layer secret key generation(PHY-SKG)depends on two fundamental parameters,i.e.,coherence time and power *** coherence time for PHY-SKG is not applicable to secure wireless *** is because coherence time is for a certain period of ***,legitimate users generate the secret keys(SKs)with a shorter key length in ***,an attacker can quickly get information about the ***,the attacker can easily get valuable information from authentic ***,we considered the scheme of power allocation to enhance the secret key generation rate(SKGR)between legitimate ***,we propose an alternative method,i.e.,a power allocation,to improve the *** results show 72%higher SKGR in bits/sec by increasing power *** addition,the power transmission is based on two important parameters,i.e.,epsilon and power loss factor,as given in power transmission *** found out that a higher value of epsilon impacts power transmission and subsequently impacts the *** SKGR is approximately 40.7%greater at 250 from 50 mW at epsilon=*** value of SKGR is reduced to 18.5%at 250 mW when epsilonis ***,the transmission power is also measured against the different power loss factor values,i.e.,3.5,3,and 2.5,respectively,at epsilon=***,it is concluded that the value of epsilon and power loss factor impacts power transmission and,consequently,impacts the SKGR.

Power electronic systems present a non-linear behavior mainly due to their switching nature. This is often combined with their interaction with non-linear systems, such as other switching converters, diode rectifiers, motor drives, etc. and with possible non linearities of the power grid in the case of grid connected systems. The major effect of these non-linear interactions is the generation of harmonic distortion on voltages and currents (both in DC and AC), which needs to be compensated to achieve high power quality systems. The use of passive filters is often the simplest and most immediate solution;however, this decreases converter efficiency and increases its weight and volume. Thus, the use of a control strategy capable of tracking periodic signals, rejecting periodic disturbance and largely improving steady state behavior and harmonic distortion with a limited bandwidth is a very desirable feature. Repetitive control (RC) represents an extremely practical and efficient solution for the aforementioned issues, and it is widely employed in many different applications. This paper focuses on state of the art of RC used in power electronics and drives. RC basic concepts, different control structures, design methods, fixed and variable frequency operating conditions, etc. are investigated. Furthermore, many example applications and existing control approaches developed in recent years for power electronics and drive systems based on RC, have also been discussed in detail. © 2020 IEEE.

English Language-Based Virtual Assistants (ELB-VAs) are AI-powered systems designed to comprehend and respond to user queries in the English language, exemplified by virtual assistants like Siri or Alexa. The need for balancing transparency and user privacy in ELB-VAs is paramount due to their pervasive integration into daily life. Ensuring transparency imbues user trust, while safeguarding privacy addresses ethical concerns associated with personal data. Existing methods involve clear privacy policies, user-controlled data sharing settings, and encryption. However, drawbacks include user confusion and potential biases. To address these limitations, this study proposes a novel approach. Methodologically, it integrates pre-processing techniques such as lowercasing and tokenization, coupled with a Natural Language Understanding model. This model undergoes intent and entity recognition training, enhancing accuracy, and incorporates privacy-aware response generation, ensuring informative yet privacy-conscious interactions. The implementation of the study's results is carried out using Python tools, showcasing improved metrics and response times. This approach contributes to a more transparent and privacy-respecting user experience, aligning with evolving ethical norms and setting the stage for advancements in ELB-VA technology. This comprehensive exploration bridges existing gaps, emphasizing the ethical imperative of user-centric and privacy-aware AI interactions in ELB- VAs. The proposed NLU model exhibits a substantial increase in accuracy compared to other methods, with an impressive accuracy value of 99.1%• On average, it outperforms the Random Forest and Decision Tree models by 15.7 percentage points, highlighting its superior predictive capabilities in the evaluated task. This comprehensive exploration aligns with evolving ethical norms and establishes a foundation for future advancements in ELB-VA technology. © 2024 IEEE.

Energy-based learning algorithms are alternatives to backpropagation and are well-suited to distributed implementations in analog electronic devices. However, a rigorous theory of convergence is lacking. We make a first step in this direction by analysing a particular energy-based learning algorithm, Contrastive Learning, applied to a network of linear adjustable resistors. In the subject of corpus linguistics, this study explores the use of transformer-based neural networks to the problems of predictive text production in multilingual contexts. The Transformer architecture presents a viable framework for natural language processing problems because of its reputation for capturing complex patterns and long-range dependencies in sequential data. The research employs a two-phase approach, whereby the Transformer is first pre-Trained using a variety of multilingual corpora. This helps the model learn representations that are independent of language, which makes it easier for it to adapt to various linguistic circumstances. The model is then fine-Tuned using language-specific datasets to improve its ability to produce linguistically nuanced and contextually appropriate text. The study looks into how different model architectures, training methods, and hyperparameters affect how well the suggested multilingual predictive text generation system performs. Evaluation measures are used to evaluate the model's performance in several languages, including linguistic diversity measurements, BLEU scores, and perplexity. The overall accuracy, calculated across all languages, stands at 80.3%, indicating the model's robust cross-lingual generalization and its effectiveness in capturing diverse linguistic nuances The efficacy and generalization of Transformer-based models are improved across a wide range of languages to handle linguistic diversity. © 2024 IEEE.
