Image inversion is a fundamental task in generative models, aiming to map images back to their latent representations to enable downstream applications such as editing, restoration, and style transfer. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the latest advancements in image inversion techniques, focusing on two main paradigms: Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) inversion and diffusion model inversion. We categorize these techniques based on their optimization methods. For GAN inversion, we systematically classify existing methods into encoder-based approaches, latent optimization approaches, and hybrid approaches, analyzing their theoretical foundations, technical innovations, and practical trade-offs. For diffusion model inversion, we explore training-free strategies, fine-tuning methods, and the design of additional trainable modules, highlighting their unique advantages and limitations. Additionally, we discuss several popular downstream applications and emerging applications beyond image tasks, identifying current challenges and future research directions. By synthesizing the latest developments, this paper aims to provide researchers and practitioners with a valuable reference resource, promoting further advancements in the field of image inversion. Cloud computing has revolutionized the provisioning of computing resources, offering scalable, flexible, and on-demand services to meet the diverse requirements of modern applications. At the heart of efficient cloud operations are job scheduling and resource management, which are critical for optimizing system performance and ensuring timely and cost-effective service delivery. However, the dynamic and heterogeneous nature of cloud environments presents significant challenges for these tasks, as workloads and resource availability can fluctuate unpredictably. Traditional approaches, including heuristic and meta-heuristic algorithms, often struggle to adapt to these real-time changes due to their reliance on static models or predefined rules. Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) has emerged as a promising solution to these challenges by enabling systems to learn and adapt policies based on continuous observations of the environment, facilitating intelligent and responsive decision-making. This survey provides a comprehensive review of DRL-based algorithms for job scheduling and resource management in cloud computing, analyzing their methodologies, performance metrics, and practical applications. We also highlight emerging trends and future research directions, offering valuable insights into leveraging DRL to advance both job scheduling and resource management in cloud computing. © 2025, CC BY.

Two-Stage Incentive Mechanism Based on a Cooperative Mode: A Stackelberg Game Approach

With the explosive growth of mobile data, Mobile Crowd Sensing (MCS) has become a popular paradigm for large-scale data collection. The difficulty of data collection and the gaps in workers’ sensing capabilities are key factors to consider in worker recruitment and task assignment. To address these issues, we designed a two-stage cooperative incentive mechanism. In the first stage, a shelving level is introduced to assess task difficulty. Tasks are divided into high-quality and low-quality groups based on quality scores, while workers are categorized into high-ability and low-ability groups based on their historical performance. The Improved Chaotic Particle Swarm Optimization (ICPSO) algorithm is then applied to generate optimal task combinations. In the second stage, we address benefit distribution among cooperating workers by introducing time-dependent rewards and employing Stackelberg game theory to analyze the optimal completion time for both high-ability and low-ability workers. This analysis determines the optimal reward distribution and ability value allocation, with proof of the existence and uniqueness of a Nash equilibrium. Comparative experiments conducted on real-world datasets demonstrate that our cooperative task mechanism outperforms existing task bundling methods, validating its rationality and effectiveness. © 2014 IEEE.

This study aims to develop a virtual reality (VR) application to improve the fault detection and troubleshooting processes of autonomous industrial mobile robots. The complex systems and operating environments of autonomous robots make fault detection challenging for users, requiring effective and user-friendly solutions to overcome these difficulties. In this context, the Robot Operating System (ROS) was utilized to detect errors in robots and record these errors in a database. Thanks to the modular structure and robust communication infrastructure offered by ROS, faults in the robots were monitored and analyzed through ROS *** study demonstrates the effective use of VR technology in the maintenance and repair processes of autonomous industrial mobile robots. By integrating ROS-based data collection and fault detection into a VR environment for user training, robot operators are enabled to troubleshoot faults more quickly and effectively. In this way, it is aimed to achieve time and cost savings in industrial processes.

This study aims to compare and improve the performance of four different machine learning algorithms (Naive Bayes, Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Decision Trees, and Support Vector Machines (SVM)) in classification problems. The analyses emphasize the impact of data preprocessing steps and hyperparameter optimization on model performance. As part of the data preprocessing, missing values were imputed, categorical data were transformed into numerical data, and normalization procedures were applied. It was observed that normalization significantly enhanced the performance of the MLP and SVM algorithms in particular. Furthermore, additional improvements in accuracy rates were achieved through hyperparameter optimization. Naive Bayes and Decision Trees were found to exhibit stable performance regardless of data scaling. This study demonstrates that proper data preprocessing and model selection can significantly enhance algorithm performance in classification problems.

Degenerative illnesses that lead to the eventual death of brain neurons afflict a large number of people. Compared to the traditional Machine Learning (ML) approach, the recent success in the medical community of classifying Alzheimer's Disease (AD) utilized a Deep Learning (DL) technique eliminates the necessity for manual feature extraction techniques. Although DL methods are widely used, there is currently a dearth of trustworthy and comprehensive research on the quantitative analysis of brain Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) data. In this paper, an effective AD classification approach is proposed that use MRI to classify brain structure and diagnose AD. Gaussian filter is used to eliminate noises at different degrees of complexity, noisy backgrounds, low contrast, and partial volume effect in the original input image. Next, K-Means clustering segmentation is useful for dividing image into different regions based on pixel intensity values. Key features for categorization are extracted using the Gray Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM) method. A Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), enhanced by Falcon Optimization Algorithm (FOA), is employed for AD categorization. The proposed system, implemented on the Python platform using the best Alzheimer's MRI dataset, demonstrates an enhanced accuracy of 93.21 %. Additionally, this model-based approach provides a capable avenue for advancing research in the early detection of AD and holds substantial potential in differentiating AD patients from healthy individuals.

SPMNet: A Siamese Pyramid Mamba Network for Very-High-Resolution Remote Sensing Change Detection

Very-High-Resolution (VHR) remote sensing images are characterized by extremely high spatial resolution, incorporating higher pixel density and larger image sizes, which pose challenges for existing methods to extract complex texture features. Furthermore, due to the wide-area and high-resolution imaging strategy, VHR change detection images suffer from a severe imbalance between change pixels and non-change pixels, increasing the difficulty of handling change detection tasks. To address these challenges, we introduced the Omnidirectional Selective Scan Module (OSSM), which has the capability to process long sequences. By integrating it with the lightweight Siamese Feature Pyramid Network (SFPN), we designed a hybrid CNN-Mamba backbone, referred to as SPMamba. This backbone captures both global and local information within bitemporal feature maps at each stage, enhancing the precision of texture feature extraction. Additionally, to integrate the semantic features from each branch in SPMamba and reduce noise interference from non-target change areas, we developed a Hybrid Fusion Module (HFM). The HFM consists of two fusion modules: the High-Low Channel Fusion Module (HLM) and the Bilateral Channel Fusion Module (BCM), which facilitates both feature-level and channel-level integration, enhancing the sensitivity of the model to subtle changes. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that SPMNet achieves the highest F1-score of 91.80%, 90.99%, and 96.04% on the WHU-CD, LEVIR-CD, and CDD-CD datasets, respectively, outperforming eleven state-of- the-art methods. Moreover, the effects of varying image sizes on model training are thoroughly analyzed. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

This research focuses on exploring the exponential $$H_\infty $$ stability of general conformable nonlinear system. In order to address the nonlinearity inherent in the system, a polynomial fuzzy (PF) method is employed. Modeling a general conformable nonlinear system within the polynomial framework reduces the number of fuzzy rules compared to the classical Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy (TSF). Furthermore, controlling such a complex system, which accounts for perturbations, employs a PF model instead TSF model to describe its nonlinear dynamics, and incorporates a general conformable derivative instead of an integer-order one, is significantly more challenging, and remains unaddressed in previous studies. In this paper, a PF controller is designed in the form of sum of squares (SOS) to enhance the resilience against perturbations and ensure the exponential stability of the proposed model. The proposed SOS can be solved numerically, and partially symbolically, using the recently developed SOSTOOLS. In order to ensure the $$H_\infty $$ performance, a generalized criterion is defined for the general conformable nonlinear system. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, a numerical example is provided.

The surge in smart device usage and the demand for high-throughput, low-latency mobile networks have accelerated the adoption of distributed smart applications and Collaborative Resource Management (CRM) techniques such as Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC). With its ability to handle large data volumes, computational demands, scalability, and high energy consumption, MEC represents the next generation of Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC), addressing key challenges in emerging smart applications. MEC supports real-time, high-throughput, and energy-efficient techniques like task offloading and ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC). However, as these techniques become more widespread, their diversity increases, leading to complexities that make them harder to understand and validate in different applications. This includes their use in areas like assistance for unmanned vehicles (UVs), autonomous driving, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), high altitude platforms (HAPs), underwater unmanned vehicles (UUVs), satellite air-ground communication (SAGC), and other emerging systems that rely on Collaborative Resource Management (CRM). Although a number of review articles pertaining to MEC systems exist, we analyzed techniques beyond task offloading that explore MEC system applicability in diverse domains, including UUVs, vehicular edge computing, Re-configurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), Massive MIMO, autonomous driving, HAPs, and SAGC. From the perspective of these optimization techniques, this article highlights their role in shaping MEC’s evolution, focusing on parameters such as real-time response, energy efficiency, and other critical factors in task offloading processes. We also explored the role of Standard Development Organizations (SDOs), such as ETSI and IEEE, in advancing MEC systems. Achieving accurate electricity price prediction is essential for market participants aiming to maximize their profits. In this respect, forecasting wholesale electricity market price plays a pivotal role. The advanced nonlinear modeling capabilities of deep learning networks have shown notable success in forecasting electricity prices. However, designing such networks, particularly selecting their optimal hyperparameters, still remains a big challenge. This paper presents a Modified Sine Algorithm Dung Beetle Optimization algorithm (MSADBO) as an improved Dung Beetle Optimization (DBO) algorithm to optimize the hyperparameters of the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network to handle the electricity price forecasting in the Italian wholesale market. After optimizing the three most important hyperparameters of the LSTM using MSADBO, the efficiency of the model has shown a drastic improvement. Comparisons with conventional and machine learning-based approaches show that the LSTM-MSADBO model is highly precise in predictions with increased robustness and effectively captures volatility in the electricity market price.
