Mobile offloading is a platform that facilitates the distribution of computationally intensive tasks from mobile devices to the cloud or other devices in order to conserve energy and improve performance. The concept is practically based on the idea of exchanging relatively low communication energy for high computation power utilization. Efforts have been channeled towards energy conservation by clusters using Dynamic Power Management (DPM). This paper is a review for green energy sources for reducing energy and using energy consumption to manage sources by stating the latest studies of energy consumption and energy consumptions.

Modern visual odometry algorithms utilize sparse point-based features for tracking due to their low computational cost. Current state-of-the-art methods are split between indirect methods that process features extracted from the image, and indirect methods that deal directly on pixel intensities. In recent years, line-based features have been used in SLAM and have shown an increase in performance albeit with an increase in computational cost. In this paper, we propose an extension to a point-based direct monocular visual odometry method. Here we that uses lines to guide keypoint selection rather than acting as features. Points on a line are treated as stronger keypoints than those in other parts of the image, steering point-selection away from less distinctive points and thereby increasing efficiency. By combining intensity and geometry information from a set of points on a line, accuracy may also be increased.

We consider uplink power control in wireless communication when massive users compete over the channel resources. In Part I [1], we have formulated massive transmission power control contest in a mean-field game framework. In this part, our goal is to investigate whether the power-domain non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) protocol can regulate the non-cooperative channel access behaviors, i.e., steering the competition among the noncooperative users in a direction with improved efficiency and fairness. It is compared with the CDMA protocol, which drives each user to fiercely compete against the population, hence the efficiency of channel usage is sacrificed. The existence and uniqueness of an equilibrium strategy under CDMA and NOMA have already been characterized in Part I. In this paper, we adopt the social welfare of the population as the performance metric, which is defined as the expectation of utility over the distribution of different types of channel users. It is shown that under the corresponding equilibrium strategies, NOMA outperforms CDMA in the social welfare achieved, which is illustrated through simulation with different unit price for power consumption. Moreover, it can be observed from numerical results that NOMA can improve the fairness of the achieved data rates among different users. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Due to increasing penetration of wind power plants (WPP), power grids are facing significant power quality challenges. To achieve stable and robust power system operation, reactive power plays a vital role. Reactive power needed to compensate voltage fluctuations at the point of interconnection (POI) of the WPP varies with a short circuit ratio (SCR). The reactive power capability of a WPP is also limited and largely depends on various operating conditions. In a physical system, it is difficult to find the correlation among critical parameters for voltage control. In this paper, a data-driven voltage control approach is proposed for a grid-connected WPP. Two regression models are developed through surface fitting using MATLAB curve fitting toolbox: one model based on simulation data is to determine the required reactive power for grid voltage compensation;another model based on field measurement data is to determine the WPP reactive power characteristics. The reactive power compensation device is capacitors in the study. Two controllers, a central WPP controller and a capacitor controller, are designed, their effectiveness is validated through several case and sensitivity studies. © 2018 IEEE

We consider uplink power control in wireless communication when massive users compete over the channel resources. The CDMA protocol, as a supporting technology of 3G networks accommodating signal from different sources over the code domain, represents the orthogonal multiple access techniques. With the development of 5G wireless networks, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is introduced to improve the efficiency of channel allocation. Our goal is to investigate whether the power-domain NOMA protocol can introduce a natural fair principle when the users interact with each other in a non-cooperative manner. It is compared with the CDMA protocol, where the fierce competition among users jeopardizes the efficiency of channel usage. The whole work is split into two parts. In this paper, (i.e., Part I), we conduct analysis with a mean-field game (MFG) model, and show the existence and uniqueness of an equilibrium strategy. To determine whether NOMA is a more efficient communication protocol for uplink communication, the social welfare comparison is conducted in Part II [1]. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. Variation in learning rates within populations suggests that evolutionary game theory may not necessarily be restricted to uniform time scales associated with the game interaction and strategy adaption evolution. Using agent-based evolutionary simulation in the framework of prisoner's dilemma game, we demonstrate the sustainability of cooperation and the emergence of different macro-effects, when equipping agents with non-uniform time scale preferences. We employ a spatial random regular grid to describe the social interactions among agents. We conclude that the cooperation level has a strong dependence on the population composition, and the suitable fraction of the fast-updating players in the system which is associated with the maximal cooperation frequency has been found out. Besides, the extent of the promotive effect of diversifying time scales is also closely related with the payoff adoption rules in strategy updating,especially when we invent a past history for each agent. Summing up the gained results, a general conclusion can be drawn, saying that the combination of these factors(e.g. time scales and memory) gives rise to rich dynamic behavior of the system.

An extensive diverseness of chemicals having discrete odours can be identified by Humans. On the basis of various deviation of development of proposed model on olfactory receptor of Human database has been proposed. There are very large family of ORs sequences for example rat, Human, chimpanzee and mouse etc. In this paper we work up on the Human OR genes, as very few experimental/quantitative works have been done for different species. It is very difficult to identify a DNA sequence whether belongs to a particular family or not, without any valid biological validation. In our viewpoint, an appropriate understanding of these Human olfactory receptor system DNA sequence s is essential to validate, a particular DNA sequence is in a family or not.

The collective cooperation dilemma,where players are involved in a public goods game and must decide whether to make an individual contribution or not,has gained increasing attention from game theorists and control *** from the traditional definition,defectors here will face the payoff restriction after adopting the strategy of free riding others' ***,we introduce payoff ceilings applied to the gained benefits of the defectors,which leads to an extensive public goods game *** the number of cooperators is lower than the threshold value,the current model can be transferred to the setups of the general public goods *** further increasing the number of cooperators will bring the restricted payoffs for *** results suggest that the payoff ceilings provide us with more insight into the resolution of cooperative ***,together with other parameters(e.g.,the amplification factor and the size of gaming population) of the introduced model,lower values of the payoff ceilings can better facilitate the domination of cooperation strategy at the steady state.

In this paper, a novel kinematic-based optimal trajectory planning formulation for an autonomous vehicle is presented. In this new formulation, the quadratic errors of position, velocity, and acceleration are minimized subject to the rear wheel car-like vehicle nonlinear kinematic model. Minimizing the error of velocity and acceleration in addition to the error of position, allows us to obtain both optimal vehicle trajectory and control law. The Variational approach is used to minimize the cost function. Then, optimal trajectory and control inputs are numerically calculated by solving a set of two-point boundary value (TPBV) nonlinear differential equations. Finally, the proposed method is evaluated in two scenarios of lane changing and multi-curvature road which verify the success of the proposed method in generating an optimal trajectory and control inputs. © 2018 IEEE.
