A mobile ad hoc network(MANET)involves a group of wireless mobile nodes which create an impermanent network with no central authority and *** nodes in the MANET are highly mobile and it results in adequate network topology,link loss,and increase the re-initialization of the route discovery *** planning in MANET is a multi-hop communication process due to the restricted transmission range of the *** aided routing(LAR)is one of the effective routing protocols in MANET which suffers from the issue of high energy *** few research works have focused on resolving energy consumption problem in LAR,energy efficiency still remains a major design *** this aspect,this study introduces an energy aware metaheuristic optimization with LAR(EAMO-LAR)protocol for *** EAMO-LAR protocol makes use of manta ray foraging optimization algorithm(MRFO)to help the searching process for the individual solution to be passed to the LAR *** fitness value of the created solutions is determined next to pass the solutions to the objective *** MRFO algorithm is incorporated into the LAR protocol in the EAMO-LAR protocol to reduce the desired energy *** ensure the improved routing efficiency of the proposed EAMO-LAR protocol,a series of simulations take *** resultant experimental values pointed out the supreme outcome of the EAMO-LAR protocol over the recently compared *** resultant values demonstrated that the EAMO-LAR protocol has accomplished effectual results over the other existing techniques.

The contribution begins with the attention that there is attention of directly grid connected wind turbine systems with generator designs adapting to the grid constraints. This paper considers permanent magnet synchronous generator topologies with rotor field coils to achieve reduced mass with good efficiency for smart grids. Conventional double-excited synchronous generators have surface mounted permanent magnets. However, the low relative permeability of PMs results in an increased air-gap size. This increased air-gap size limits the minimal copper-mass of the rotor-field-winding. To improve on this limitation, Interior permanent magnets (IPM) are used. Three rotor topologies with IPM are presented in this paper. The analysis of their 2D FEM results and optimization are shown considering their magnetizing current, torque, Back EMF for smart grids application. The three rotor topologies are compared on the overall active mass and their performance by considering PM and rotor copper mass, torque capabilities and efficiency. The spoke-type topology with rectangular magnets achieves the lowest total rotor mass reduction of 39% total mass reduction when compared to the topology with PMs that are buried horizontally. The reduced copper mass and flux variation capabilities are good characteristics in wind energy conversion generators with direct grid connections for smart grid. © 2023 IEEE.

Sticking valves tend to cause cycles in control systems used in industry, degrading product quality and yield. Many attempts have been made to alleviate the impact of stiction. Mechanical knockers are used with success to knock loose the sticking components. Most other stiction compensation methods attempt to find ways to move the control output by an amount greater than the stiction band, while still getting the valve position as close as possible to the desired position. This paper shows how, instead of overcoming stiction and getting the valve position to the control output, the valve can be moved such that over time, the valve is on average at the correct position, while still moving the valve in increments that are larger than the stiction band.

Visualization is a powerful tool for learning and teaching complex concepts, especially in the field of computer science. However, creating effective and engaging visualizations can be challenging and time-consuming for educators and students. This paper demonstrates how the Manim Python library, a free and open-source project for creating mathematical animations, can be used to create visualizations that illustrate algorithms and data structures in an undergraduate course. The paper showcases several examples of visualizations created with the Manim library, and explains how they help the students to understand the logic, behavior, and performance of the algorithms and data structures. The paper also discusses the benefits and limitations of the Manim library, and suggests some directions for future research and development.

Automated seizure diagnosis system based on feature extraction and channel selection using EEG signals

Seizure is an abnormal electrical activity of the brain. Neurologists can diagnose the seizure using several methods such as neurological examination, blood tests, computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and electroencephalogram (EEG). Medical data, such as the EEG signal, usually includes a number of features and attributes that do not contains important information. This paper proposes an automatic seizure classification system based on extracting the most significant EEG features for seizure diagnosis. The proposed algorithm consists of five steps. The first step is the channel selection to minimize dimensionality by selecting the most affected channels using the variance parameter. The second step is the feature extraction to extract the most relevant features, 11 features, from the selected channels. The third step is to average the 11 features extracted from each channel. Next, the fourth step is the classification of the average features using the classification step. Finally, cross-validation and testing the proposed algorithm by dividing the dataset into training and testing sets. This paper presents a comparative study of seven classifiers. These classifiers were tested using two different methods: random case testing and continuous case testing. In the random case process, the KNN classifier had greater precision, specificity, positive predictability than the other classifiers. Still, the ensemble classifier had a higher sensitivity and a lower miss-rate (2.3%) than the other classifiers. For the continuous case test method, the ensemble classifier had higher metric parameters than the other classifiers. In addition, the ensemble classifier was able to detect all seizure cases without any mistake. © 2021, The Author(s).

In this paper, a partially double pass configuration in serial hybrid fiber amplifier is experimentally demonstrated. In the proposed design, a double pass erbium gain and single pass Raman gain are achieved serially. A total pump power of 450 mW (400 mW for 1495 nm Raman amplifier and 50 mW for1480 nm in erbium amplifier) were used. At -30 dBm input signal power and optimum pumps conditions, the achieved flatness bandwidth is 80 nm (1530-1610 nm) in the conventional and long bands (C+L) bands. In addition, the obtained average gain level is 33 dB. While the obtained flatness gain is 85 nm (1525-1610 nm) within the large input signal power region at -5 dBm. By choosing a proper pump wavelength that avoid the overlapping between Raman and erbium peaks gain, a wide flatness gain is obtained. © 2023 IEEE.

The Industry 4.0 paradigm has deeply changed classical manufacturing by introducing data-based analytics and decision-support strategies. At the state of the art, data used for manufacturing monitoring is mostly originated by sensors, that undergo a fusion step to align different data sources. However, this data is only relative to the monitored process, and it does not include the corresponding operating conditions and parameters, that are known by the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Such information is currently either not included or labeled by hand, thus incurring in errors and limiting the amount of available labeled data. To overcome this issue and go beyond the sole data fusion of sensor data, this paper proposes an infrastructure that automatically label time series generated by sensors with information extracted from the MES, to achieve enhanced monitoring of the production process. The relevance of the proposed solution and the possibilities opened by its application are stressed with the application to a robotic arm.

K-SVD (K-Singular Value Decomposition)is a com-monly used dictionary learning method that progressively opti-mizes dictionaries to better represent data by iterating sparse coding and dictionary update steps. However, with the increasing data size, the traditional K -SVD method faces significant challenges in terms of computational efficiency. Therefore, this paper proposes an asynchronous distributed parallel K-SVD method based on Ray framework to cope with the computational efficiency problem in large-scale data processing. This method achieves efficient parallel computation by decomposing the sparse coding and dictionary updating steps of the K-SVD method into multiple independent tasks and utilizing the distributed scheduling capability of the Ray framework. Since the zero elements of the coefficient matrix are unevenly distributed, we introduce a stride partitioning approach when performing the decomposition. In addition, in order to avoid the method falling into local optima and failing to find global optima due to parallelism, this paper synchronizes with the global at the same time as the atomic update of the dictionary. Meanwhile, for the purpose of avoiding the overhead caused by data synchronization, a parameter server is introduced to realize asynchronous updating of dictionary and coefficient matrix to reduce the overhead caused by communication. The experimental results show that, compared with the traditional K-SVD method, the method proposed in this paper has a significant advantage in computational efficiency and is able to efficiently process hyperspectral image datasets under the premise of guaranteeing the sparse representation accuracy. Compared with the synchronous parallel K-SVD method, the proposed method has faster error convergence and does not fall into local optima. © 2024 IEEE.

Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) information play a vital role in everyday life of common persons. People greatly rely on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-enabled applications for navigation to reach their desired destination. However, GNSS navigation performance is highly degraded in urban environments due to the high probability of signal interruption, multipath (MP), and/or non-line-of-sight (NLOS) signal reception. Multipath and NLOS being the major causes of disrupted positioning performance for GNSS in urban environments. The navigation signals encountered various environmental factors they are reflected, refracted, diffracted, and completely blocked by high-roof buildings, bridges, and trees, thus leading to severe uncertainties in position estimation. GNSS system has gained notable advancements in terms of number of satellites, satellite geometry and signal quality. In this paper newly established constellation BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3) performance is quantified with respect to environmental changes and compared in terms of positional accuracy. The paper also discussed the innovative current developments and status of BDS-3 in 2023. For this reason, series of field experiments were carried out at clear open and urban environment with BDS-3 and GPS mode during the observation time of 6 hours. The BDS-3 system is configured for data logging and used for the first time at Pakistan region. The positioning and navigation performance of BDS-3 is evaluated by utilizing key performance indicators e.g satellite availability, geometric distribution in terms of PDOP, and statistical accuracy measures (i.e., Circular Error Probable (CEP) and Distance Root Mean Square (DRMS)). The experimental results shows that BDS-3 provides more number of satellites, favorable satellite geometry and reduced position error compared to GPS constellation in clear open sky environment. Smart systems contain digital and analog components of several physical domains, e.g., electrical and mechanical During the design phase, the fault injection, which checks the system functionality following the guidelines of ISO standard 26262, enhances the system’s robustness. Unfortunately, fault injection and simulation on the analog side are i) not fully standardized compared to their digital counterparts, ii) highly domain-dependent, and iii) performed separately from the digital. This article proposes to improve the design of smart systems by generating faulty scenarios through analog fault injection across several physical domains. By exploiting these faulty scenarios it is possible to improve the robustness of the analog part and simultaneously improve the quality of the digital part that controls the system functionality.
