Electric Vehicles (EVs) become very important issue and gained attention due to many reasons like its economic price, saving environment and more reliable. In this study, controlling speed for EV is utilized by tracking the desired speed using Fractional Order Proportional Derivative (FOPD) controller with a smart tuning algorithm named Sunflower Optimization (SFO) algorithm to satisfy robust and efficient controlled speed. The numerical analysis is obtained using Matlab program in two steps, controlling the system to reach the desired value in best and stable response then apply two undesired signals (disturbance signals) to test system robustness and finally compare the suggested controller with different conventional controllers(Normal PD controller-Optimal PD controller).

An algorithm for processing the continuous stream of incoming video data to detect and recognize signed expressions is proposed. The aim is to improve an assistive technology system. The method is based on the dynamic flow of expression models between a repository of inactive models and pools of active and completed models. When modeling signed expressions, so-called visemes are used. These are units smaller than words - the equivalent of phonemes known from speech recognition. Visemes are extracted by clustering descriptors of the holistic skeletons. The sequential-simultaneous nature of gestures is considered, and the modeling is carried out in four parallel channels related to the position and shape of both hands. The conditions for activation, deactivation, and recognition of the model as completed are formulated, assuming asynchronous changes in individual channels. The method is successfully tested on a demanding dataset recorded by potential users.

In this paper, a vision-based method for fingerspelled acronyms recognition is proposed. First, the visual information carried by the image is reduced to the person's edges. The heterogeneous and changing background is removed by semantic segmentation of the person using a pre-trained R-CNN Mask. Then, the feature vector is generated by the encoder - part of the autoencoder, previously trained in an unsupervised manner. Finally, the sequence of feature vectors obtained in this way is fed into the input of the Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory network used for classification. The method is tested on a demanding dataset, including the execution of acronyms fingerspelled by Deaf people who use sign language on a daily basis. Promising results suggest that the method can be incorporated into the Signed Communication System developed by the research team.

Sticking valves tend to cause cycles in control systems used in industry, degrading product quality and yield. Many attempts have been made to alleviate the impact of stiction. Mechanical knockers are used with success to knock loose the sticking components. Most other stiction compensation methods attempt to find ways to move the control output by an amount greater than the stiction band, while still getting the valve position as close as possible to the desired position. This paper shows how, instead of overcoming stiction and getting the valve position to the control output, the valve can be moved such that over time, the valve is on average at the correct position, while still moving the valve in increments that are larger than the stiction band.

Visualization is a powerful tool for learning and teaching complex concepts, especially in the field of computer science. However, creating effective and engaging visualizations can be challenging and time-consuming for educators and students. This paper demonstrates how the Manim Python library, a free and open-source project for creating mathematical animations, can be used to create visualizations that illustrate algorithms and data structures in an undergraduate course. The paper showcases several examples of visualizations created with the Manim library, and explains how they help the students to understand the logic, behavior, and performance of the algorithms and data structures. The paper also discusses the benefits and limitations of the Manim library, and suggests some directions for future research and development.
