Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization). An advanced Fuzzy Logic controller (FLC) that considers all the states of the brain tumor system is designed for the chemotherapy treatment. A Mamdani-type FLC is proposed for dynamically controlling the chemotherapy drug for the tumor system;the chemotherapy treatment of brain tumors requires advanced strategies which mainly depend upon the severity of the tumor. In this work, the advanced FLC designed aims both at determining the amount of chemotherapy to eliminate tumor cells, and at preserving the minimum amount of healthy and immune cells. The controller's performance is verified using MATLAB software based on different control parameters, showing its effectiveness in reducing the tumor cells. It has shown favorable results in terms of steady-state error, rate of convergence, and amount of drug consumed. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a novel nonlinear current-limiting controller that maintains the desired power balance in a hybrid microgrid, is proposed for interlinking converters (ICs). The RMS value of the IC current is analytically proven to remain below a desired maximum value at all times using nonlinear ultimate boundedness theory, without limiting separately the d- and q-axis current components and without using adaptive saturation units, as done in conventional approaches. Furthermore, the stability of the closed loop system is investigated through root locus analysis for different values of the controller gain. Finally, the performance of the proposed control scheme is validated through detailed simulation results of an interlinking converter connected to both an AC and a DC subgrid. © 2022 IEEE.

Radiomics represents a specialized branch of medical imaging where quantitative features are extracted from images. Performing a classification using radiomics means solving two common problems: the imbalanced setting, and the large number of features that would increase the risk of overfitting. Moreover, since its main application and impact are in clinical field, there is the need of interpretable models for explaining their results. The aim of this study is to compare two modelling approaches: one based on a logistic regression model, known for its simplicity and interpretability, and RUSBoost, an ensemble method designed to handle class imbalance with potentially higher complexity, in order to answer the question whether higher complexity and lower interpretability are justified when dealing with radiomics data. Additionally, due to the large literature suggesting it, we analyze the impact of a feature selection step applied to these two classifiers. Test performances measured across 20 repeated splits on two datasets show how the RUSBoost approach is able to capture more detailed patterns of the data but this is highly dependent on the dataset at hand.

Current optimization methods for microgrid scheduling face issues such as insufficient precision in energy distribution, high operational costs, and inefficiency. In response to these challenges, an optimization scheduling method for multi-energy microgrids based on the QUBO (Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimization) quantum computing model is proposed in this paper, alongside a discretization approach based on a grid partitioning strategy. To validate the feasibility of addressing microgrid optimization scheduling problems in a quantum computing environment, a QUBO model is constructed and simulation studies are conducted in the qbsolv environment provided by D-Wave. The results indicate that operational costs are significantly reduced with an increase in the number of grids, particularly a reduction of 4.52% when the number of grids increases from five to ten. This method not only effectively enhances the precision of electricity supply and energy utilization efficiency but also reduces unnecessary electrical waste and economic costs. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. To directly investigate the dynamic nanoscale phenomenon on the surface being processed in wet conditions such as precision polishing, and cleaning in semiconductor industrial, an optical method for visualization and observation of each sub-100 nm sized particle that is moving on an interface such as a silica glass surface by applying an evanescent field have been proposing. Subsequently, we developed an experimental apparatus equipped with an optical microscopy system for verifying the moving particle observation method in a laboratory scale. This article introduces some experimentally direct observation results of duplicated wet processes. © 2024 IEEE.

Empowering citizens by a blockchain-Based Robinson list

Robinson lists are adopted in many countries to protect phone subscribers against commercial spam calls. In its essence, they collect the denial of the subscribers to be contacted by marketing operators. Nowadays, all Robinson lists run as centralised services. Namely, citizens have to rely on trusted third parties for the management of their own choices. The Blockchain allows us to envision the development of a decentralised Robinson list in which citizens are finally empowered to autonomously manage their choices. In this paper, we present a proof-of-concept (PoC) of a decentralised Robinson list developed with the Algorand technology. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to implement a Robinson list on a blockchain technology. The PoC has been designed to support the requirements provided by Fondazione Ugo Bordoni, the manager of the Italian Robinson list. The evaluation of the PoC shows that our decentralised solution provides satisfactory performance, in terms of scalability, latency and costs, when compared to the current centralised service. © 2021 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Retinal blood vessel segmentation is an essential component in the diagnosis and monitoring of various ophthalmological conditions, such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma or macular degeneration, providing valuable information about the state of blood vessels and ocular blood circulation. Traditional methods for segmenting blood vessels from retinal images present certain limitations in terms of accuracy and robustness, especially under variable lighting conditions, the presence of artifacts or low-quality images. However, current techniques based on convolutional neural networks have demonstrated the ability to achieve precise and robust segmentations in a variety of conditions, outperforming traditional methods. Nevertheless, neural networks face challenges regarding the limited availability of retinal image datasets necessary for training and evaluating these solutions. In this paper we describe a solution for retinal blood vessel segmentation using the U-Net architecture. This neural network achieves impressive results even with very small datasets, demonstrating the efficiency and robustness of the U-Net architecture for retinal blood vessel segmentation.

Worldwide, autism affects 1 in 100 children, with diagnoses steadily rising since the 2000s. Romania lacks official statistics on autism prevalence, but global estimates suggest similarity. Children with autism struggle with social interactions and verbal communication, prompting interest in social robots for therapy and education. Tailored robot-assisted sessions offer potential for cognitive development, vocabulary enhancement, social interaction, and behavioral stimulation like concentration and attention. The NAO robot's user-friendly design, technical capabilities, and integrated features make it well-suited for these purposes. This paper presents activities that exemplify the concept of “learning through play,” allowing children to engage in exploration, experimentation, and effective learning in an enjoyable manner.
