Cloud-based energy management systems (EMS) in smart grids face privacy challenges, as existing methods based on traditional homomorphic encryption support limited operations and are vulnerable to quantum attacks. We propose a privacy preservation method for smart grid energy management system, leveraging edge-assisted computing and ring learning with errors (RLWE) homomorphic encryption. Our approach enables both addition and multiplication operations on encrypted smart grid data while defending against quantum threats. We demonstrate the methods security under the RLWE hardness assumption and validate its effectiveness through an experimental platform simulating smart grid environments. This work addresses computational limitations in current privacy-preserving techniques, enhancing data security for evolving smart grid technologies © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Accurate identification and position of transmission lines is critical for robots to safely and effectively perform distribution network operations. However, such tasks are often challenged by complex lighting conditions, where depth information can be easily lost. Transmission lines have limited texture features and reflective surfaces, making it difficult to match image feature points. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a visual perception system for weak texture targets under complex lighting, based on an “eye-on-hand” configuration and a depth complementation algorithm. Furthermore, a high-precision identification and localization method for transmission line grasping points is developed, utilizing the fusion of binocular visual color maps and depth maps. The proposed method has been shown to effectively solve the problem of identifying and localizing the grasping points of transmission lines under complex lighting conditions. Experiments demonstrated that the method can improve the localization accuracy to within $\pm 4\text{mm}$ , outperforming other algorithms. The method is characterized as simple and efficient, and it enhances the environmental adaptability of distribution network robots.

Motivated by current sharing in power networks, we consider a class of output consensus (also called agreement) problems for nonlinear systems, where the consensus value is determined by external disturbances, e.g., power demand. This output consensus problem is solved by a simple distributed output feedback controller if a system is either Krasovskii or shifted passive, which is the only essential requirement. Converting renewable energy into ammonia has been recognized as a promising way to realize "green hydrogen substitution" in the chemical industry. However, renewable power to ammonia (RePtA) requires an essential investment in facilities to provide a buffer against the strong volatility of renewable energy and the limited flexibility of ammonia synthesis, which involves the three main stakeholders, namely, power, hydrogen, and ammonia. Therefore, the sizing and pricing of RePtA play a core role in balancing the interest demands of investors. This paper proposes an optimal sizing and pricing method for RePtA system planning. First, power to ammonia (P2A) is modeled as a flexible load, especially considering the limited flexibility of ammonia synthesis, which has been verified using real dynamic regulation data. Second, the multi-investor economic (MIE) model is established considering both external and internal trading modes. Then, a two-stage decomposed sizing and pricing method is proposed to solve the problem caused by the strong coupling of planning, operation, and trading, and information gap decision theory (IGDT) method is utilized to handle the uncertainty of renewable generation. Finally, real data from a real-life system in Inner Mongolia are utilized to verify the proposed approach. The results show that the system proposed has a yield of 8.15%. The history of the use of mines dates back almost two centuries. The geography of their use and the associated social harm have made them, without exaggeration, a global problem. At the same time, searches were underway for safe methods of their neutralization using various technical means. In so doing, until now, none of the existing methods provides a 100% guarantee of cleaning the territory, which determines the purpose of finding innovative methods and the possibility of combining them with existing ones. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are becoming a real modern breakthrough in the field of intellectual achievements. Obtaining optimal results when solving a wide range of different problems, together with the development of composite materials, software, and the latest navigation equipment, make the tasks assigned to them and the expected results more and more difficult. UAVs allow people not to be in life-threatening conditions, to conduct activities beyond their physiological and psychophysiological abilities. The combination of the ability to collect spatial data during flight in various ranges of remote sensing with the possibility of carrying variants of useful equipment opens up prospects for their use in the field of demining territories. Supplementing UAV technologies with modern information systems for processing and analysis of information (expert systems, machine learning, computational intelligence, distributed artificial intelligence, neural networks, etc.), including spatial (GIS), opens up great prospects in the field of humanitarian demining of territories. © 2024, The Authors. Live-maintaining work is essential for continuous power supply to the substation. To improve the safety and efficiency of live-maintaining work, this paper proposes an equipotential live-maintaining robot system suitable for 110kV voltage levels. Considering the narrow space, complex working conditions and strong electromagnetic interference in substations, binocular vision technology, manipulator trajectory planning algorithm based on time-energy optimization, high voltage electromagnetic shielding technology are utilized to develop the system, and the live-maintaining robot is successfully applied in actual substation. By accurately identifying and locating the joint bolts and insulator, the robot system can achieve equipotential live-disassemble, live-assemble the joint bolts within 18 minutes and live-clean insulator within 5 minutes, demonstrating its the effectiveness and practicability. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Many real-world optimization problems exhibit dynamic characteristics, posing significant challenges for traditional optimization techniques. Evolutionary Dynamic Optimization Algorithms (EDOAs) are designed to address these challenges effectively. However, in existing literature, the reported results for a given EDOA can vary significantly. This inconsistency often arises because the source codes for many EDOAs, which are typically complex, have not been made publicly available, leading to error-prone re-implementations. To support researchers in conducting experiments and comparing their algorithms with various EDOAs, we have developed an open-source MATLAB platform called the Evolutionary Dynamic Optimization LABoratory (EDOLAB). This platform not only facilitates research but also includes an educational module designed for instructional purposes. The education module allows users to observe: a) a 2-dimensional problem space and its morphological changes following each environmental change, b) the behaviors of individuals over time, and c) how the EDOA responds to environmental changes and tracks the moving optimum. As circuits continue to miniaturize, noise has become a significant obstacle to performance optimization. Stochastic resonance in logic circuits offers an innovative approach to harness noise constructively;however, current implementations are limited to basic logical functions such as OR, AND, NOR, and NAND, restricting broader applications. This paper introduces a three-dimensional (3D) coupling model to investigate the counterintuitive phenomena that arise in nonlinear systems under noise. Compared to the one-dimensional Langevin equation and the two-dimensional Duffing equation, the 3D coupling model features more adjustable parameters and coupling interactions, enhancing the system's dynamic behavior. The study demonstrates that increasing noise intensity triggers reverse aperiodic resonance, leading to signal phase reversal and amplitude amplification. This phenomenon is attributed to the motion of Brownian particles in a bistable potential well. Additionally, reverse aperiodic resonance addresses the lack of logical negation in traditional stochastic resonance systems by introducing noise-driven phase reversal, providing a novel alternative to conventional inverters. © 2024, CC BY.
