The main goal of this paper is to investigate the performance of an algorithm for point extraction from hyperbolic reflections in synthetic and real Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) data. The real radargrams that we considered contain hyperbolic reflections due to the presence, in the surveyed area, of district heating pipelines DN250 (250mm inner diameter pipe). These are buried 88 cm deep in a soil trench, and covered by compacted sand and concrete bricks (behaton pavement). The synthetic radargrams result from the simulation of a model representing the real geometry on the location of interest. The simulation was carried out by using gprMax, ver. 3.

Simultaneous stabilization of linear systems is a fundamental issue in the system and control theory, and is of theoretical and practical significance. In this paper, the authors review the recent research progress and the state-of-art results on simultaneous stabilization of single-input single-output linear time-invariant systems. Especially, the authors list the ever best results on the parameters involved in the well known "French Champagne Problem" and "Belgian Chocolate Problem" from the point of view of mathematical theoretical analysis and numerical calculation. And the authors observed that Boston claimed the lower bound of 5 can be enlarged to 0.976461 in 2012 is not accurate. The authors hope it will inspire further study on simultaneous stabilization of several linear systems.

For the minimum fill-in problem, we exclude the existence of polynomial time approximation schemes, assuming P≠NP, and the existence of 2~(O(n~(1-δ)))-time approximation schemes for any positive δ, assuming the Exponential Time Hypothesis. Also implied is a 2~(O(k~(1/2-δ)))·n~(O(1)) parameterized lower bound. Behind these results is a new reduction from vertex cover, which might be of its own interest: All previous reductions for similar problems are from some kind of graph layout problems.

With the development of communication technology, in order to meet the smart city's demand for intelligent infrastructure, the smart street lighting system based on NB-IoT is an effective method to realize the goal. This paper elaborates on the smart street lighting system's architecture, including the perception and control layer, the transport layer, the platform layer and the application layer. In addition, the actual system is built to verify. This system uses STM32 to build the perception and controller, and relies on China Telecom's NB-IoT communication network for the data transmission, finally using the IoT management platform-Huawei OceanConnect- to implement the connection management, the device management, the data calculation and the remote control functions. This system verifies the feasibility of the smart street lighting system based on NB-IoT technology, which provides the reference for the promotion and application. It is expected to provide intelligent, diversified, efficient and economical services for the smart cities.

This paper studies the finite-time output consensus problem of second-order multi-agent systems with both mismatched disturbances and unknown state elements. This problem is solved by an active anti-disturbance control (AADC) method, which integrates the disturbance estimation/compensation and the baseline consensus protocols based on feedback control together. To estimate the matched/mismatched disturbances and the agents unknown state elements, a finite-time generalized state observer is constructed for each agent. Based on the distributed adding a power integrator feedback control method, and the estimates of the matched/mismatched disturbances and the systems unknown states, AADC consensus protocols are developed for both leaderless and leader-follower cases. The proposed protocols achieve finite-time consensus of the agents outputs in both cases. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed consensus algorithms.
