Disassembling and recycling scrapped products play important roles in effectively reducing environmental pollution and improving resource sustainability. A multi-product human-robot collaborative disassembly-line-balancing problem (MHDP) arises from doing so and represents an important yet to be solved in the remanufacturing field. This work explores how to use optimization algorithms to schedule tasks between humans and robots to maximize remanufacturing profit in human-robot collaboration contexts. Specifically, we investigate MHDP and develop a mixed integer programming model considering various system constraints. We propose a dingo optimization algorithm that simulates wild dogs' social hierarchy and chasing processes to solve MHDP. We compare the proposed algorithm with an exact solution finder, i.e., IBM CPLEX and a well-known intelligent optimization method, i.e., Genetic Algorithm to show its competitive performance in terms of solution accuracy and efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

A traffic light control protocol is proposed, which builds compact platoons of vehicles to make efficient use of green times. It forms short platoons at multiple links and times traffic lights to concatenate these to form a single dense platoon, in which vehicles mostly passes many intersections without stopping. The protocol minimizes the number of times vehicles stop; by simulation, it roughly halves that of greenwave under near saturated demand.

Artificial intelligence(AI)and machine learning(ML)help in making predictions and businesses to make key decisions that are beneficial for *** the case of the online shopping business,it’s very important to find trends in the data and get knowledge of features that helps drive the success of the *** this research,a dataset of 12,330 records of customers has been analyzedwho visited an online shoppingwebsite over a period of one *** main objective of this research is to find features that are relevant in terms of correctly predicting the purchasing decisions made by visiting customers and build ML models which could make correct predictions on unseen data in the *** permutation feature importance approach has been used to get the importance of features according to the output variable(Revenue).Five ML models i.e.,decision tree(DT),random forest(RF),extra tree(ET)classifier,Neural networks(NN),and Logistic regression(LR)have been used to make predictions on the unseen data in the *** performance of each model has been discussed in detail using performance measurement techniques such as accuracy score,precision,recall,F1 score,and ROC-AUC *** model is the bestmodel among all five chosen based on accuracy score of 90%and F1 score of 79%followed by extra tree ***,our study indicates that RF model can be used by online retailing businesses for predicting consumer buying *** research also reveals the importance of page value as a key feature for capturing online purchasing *** may give a clue to future businesses who can focus on this specific feature and can find key factors behind page value success which in turn will help the online shopping business.

This paper evaluates the state estimation performance for processing nonlinear/non-Gaussian systems using the cubature particle lter(CPF),which is an estimation algorithm that combines the cubature Kalman lter(CKF)and the particle lter(PF).The CPF is essentially a realization of PF where the third-degree cubature rule based on numerical integration method is adopted to approximate the proposal *** is benecial where the CKF is used to generate the importance density function in the PF framework for effectively resolving the nonlinear/non-Gaussian *** on the spherical-radial transformation to generate an even number of equally weighted cubature points,the CKF uses cubature points with the same weights through the spherical-radial integration rule and employs an analytical probability density function(pdf)to capture the mean and covariance of the posterior distribution using the total probability theorem and subsequently uses the measurement to update with Bayes’*** is capable of acquiring a maximum a posteriori probability estimate of the nonlinear system,and thus the importance density function can be used to approximate the true posterior density *** Bayesian ltering,the nonlinear lter performs well when all conditional densities are assumed *** applied to the nonlinear/non-Gaussian distribution systems,the CPF algorithm can remarkably improve the estimation accuracy as compared to the other particle lterbased approaches,such as the extended particle lter(EPF),and unscented particle lter(UPF),and also the Kalman lter(KF)-type approaches,such as the extended Kalman lter(EKF),unscented Kalman lter(UKF)and *** illustrative examples are presented showing that the CPF achieves better performance as compared to the other approaches.

In the era where Web3.0 values data security and privacy, adopting groundbreaking methods to enhance privacy in recommender systems is crucial. Recommender systems need to balance privacy and accuracy, while also having the ability to overcome cold start problems. The Differential Trust Mechanism (DTM) introduced in this paper is such an approach. The DTM provides a unique use of Gaussian distributions in modeling trust relationships within data, offering a novel way to balance recommendation accuracy with user privacy. This mechanism innovatively applies differential privacy principles, using Gaussian noise addition to protect individual user data from inference attacks, while maintaining the integrity and utility of the overall dataset. Unlike traditional anonymization techniques that often compromise data utility or vulnerability to reverse engineering, DTM provides a robust solution by dynamically adjusting privacy levels based on the trustworthiness of data requests. By combining DTM with existing mainstream recommendation algorithms, the prediction accuracy of MAE and RMSE increases by at least 6.60% and 2.69%, respectively. This dual benefit positions DTM as a significant advancement in secure data processing, especially relevant for online businesses and platforms where personalized recommendations are crucial yet privacy concerns are paramount. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Compared to conventional neural networks, training a supernet for Neural Architecture Search (NAS) is very time consuming. Although current works have demonstrated that parallel computing can significantly speed up the training process, almost all of their parallelism still follow the conventional data- and model-based paradigms, which actually face performance issues in both computation and inter-node communication of the supernet training. To further improve the performance of current methods, we discover the unique path-parallelism that exists in supernet training, and proposed a novel training approach designed specifically for supernet. In detail, we focus on analyzing path correlations between subnets in a supernet and exploiting effective path-merging methods to reduce redundant computations and communications raised by concurrent subnets. Moreover, we also try to combine the proposed path parallelism with traditional intra-subnet parallelism to perform multi-level parallelization to further optimize the parallel performance. We present the detailed design and implementation of our method, and our experimental results show that our proposed approach can achieve up to 3.2x end-to-end speedup over conventional parallel training solutions, and 1.46x–5.78x speedup compared to the state-of-art supernet training frameworks.

With the rapid development of deep learning, it has been widely applied in fields such as computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics. Despite the superior performance of deep learning in object detection, most industrial vision robots still rely on traditional object detection methods due to computational constraints of robot controllers. In order to improve the performance of object detection for vision robots, a lightweight 3D object detection network based on You Only Look Once version 5 (YOLOv5) is proposed for satisfying industrial production. YOLOv5 work to efficiently object detection using deep convolutional networks. In terms of model deployment, we adopt a novel OpenVINO-based model deployment approach. The OpenVINO framework significantly enhances the inference speed of models by model optimization and compression. Our model achieves a 70% reduction in inference time compared to the baseline model on CPU. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through experiments. © 2023 IEEE.

In typical image inpainting tasks, the locations and shapes of damaged or masked areas are often random and irregular. Vanilla convolutions, commonly employed in learning-based inpainting models, treat all spatial features as valid and share parameters across different regions. This approach can struggle with irregular damage patterns, leading to inpainted results that may suffer from color discrepancies and blurriness. In this paper, we introduce a novel operator known as Semi-Independent Convolution (SIConv) to tackle this challenge. The proposed SIConv, on top of the regular convolution with shared weights, also introduces dynamic terms that assign their own independent weights to each part of the image, and the overall computation is formulated as a shared convolution parameter with an additional term to describe the local structure. Qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art, yielding clearer, more coherent, and visually convincing inpainting results. © 2024 IEEE.

Two sparse adaptive filtering (AF) algorithms based on Andrew's sine estimator (ASE) are presented to achieve improved performance for identifying sparse systems, where the ASE is derived within the least-square framework. Furthermore, zero-attracting (ZA) scheme is used in ASE to construct ZA-ASE and its re-weighting form (RZA-ASE) to combat non-Gaussian noises and use the sparse characteristics of the system. Their performance is investigated via simulations and compared with the least-mean square (LMS) and the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) algorithms to show their superior performance. © 2022 IEEE.

Multitasking requires rapid switching of attention and cognitive resources between different tasks in a dynamic environment, relying on cognitive processes, such as working memory, executive control, and selective attention. Although studies have investigated the efficacy of various neurobehavioral interventions in improving multitasking capabilities, the effects of longitudinal anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in enhancing multitasking performance have not been investigated. This research investigated the efficacy of 1mA anodal tDCS administered longitudinally on multitasking performance. 42 participants were randomly and equally divided into the experimental and placebo control conditions in this study conducted for 10 days. All participants executed two multitasking tasks on day 1 and received 1mA anodal/placebo tDCS during task training from day 2 to day 8. Various behavioral and neurophysiological measures have been measured. The findings revealed that tDCS had the propensity to augment multitasking capabilities in the trained task but had limited transfer capabilities. EEG-based brain connectivity analysis also revealed the formation of network hubs in the prefrontal and frontal regions, indicating enhanced cortical activation in the beta band. We intend to use these findings to design interventional frameworks to enhance multitasking performance using tDCS. © 2024 IEEE.
