The paper describes a real-time job scheduling method designed for production of goods with different characteristics on machines with different processing parameters. The objective is to maximize the global reward of the factory as a sum of the rewards for each machine job. Traditionally, the task assignment problems deal with the assignment of m-tasks to n-agents and are calculated by analytical methods or heuristics. The proposed method is based on online auctions that distributes the tasks to the machines using the software agents. The method is implemented using the ERTS (Erlang Real-Time System) that allows adopting the features of fault-tolerance and real-time processing. The paper starts with introduction and review of related state-of-the-art. The following chapter briefly describes the problem and the specific requirements. The following chapter describes the software architecture of the online auction system, the use-case and the motivation for developing this method. The proposed method auction-based task assignment and its implementation are described in the next chapters. At the end of the work, the results of the method are presented in comparison with the optimal solution and the performance characteristics are also described. In the conclusion, possible advances and future work are proposed. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to explore the impact of pipe diameter, bend-diameter ratio and bend angle on the erosion of slurry pipe, a numerical simulation method approach grounded in Computational Fluid Dynamics-Dense Discrete Phase Model(CFD-DDPM)is proposed. Firstly, the geometric models of bends with different pipe diameters, bend-diameter ratios, and bend angles are constructed;secondly, the slurry pipe erosion model based on Dense Discrete Phase Model(DDPM) is constructed;then, model validation is conducted on the slurry pipe erosion model to affirm the accuracy of the model;finally, the computational fluid dynamics method is employed to simulate the erosion and wear behavior of the pipeline, to investigate the impact of pipe diameter, bend-diameter ratio and bend angle on the erosion and wear of the slurry pipeline. At the same time, gray correlation analysis was also used to analyze the significant relationship between the three pipeline factors and erosion and wear. The results show that the main erosion area is not determined, with the change of the pipeline parameters, the most serious erosion area will move;the effect of different pipeline parameter variations on the erosion rate is different, in which the pipe diameter of the largest impact, the second largest bend-diameter ratio, the smallest impact of the bend angle. Therefore, in the design of slurry pipeline, should first consider the influence of pipe diameter factors.

Rainfall plays a significant role in managing the water level in the *** unpredictable amount of rainfall due to the climate change can cause either overflow or dry in the *** individuals,especially those in the agricultural sector,rely on rain *** rainfall is challenging because of the changing nature of the *** area of Jimma in southwest Oromia,Ethiopia is the subject of this research,which aims to develop a rainfall forecasting *** estimate Jimma's daily rainfall,we propose a novel approach based on optimizing the parameters of long short-term memory(LSTM)using Al-Biruni earth radius(BER)optimization algorithm for boosting the fore-casting accuracy.N ash-Sutcliffe model eficiency(NSE),mean square error(MSE),root MSE(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R2 were all used in the conducted experiments to assess the proposed approach,with final scores of(0.61),(430.81),(19.12),and(11.09),***,we compared the proposed model to current machine-learning regression models;such as non-optimized LSTM,bidirectional LSTM(BiLSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and convolutional LSTM(ConvLSTM).It was found that the proposed approach achieved the lowest RMSE of(19.12).In addition,the experimental results show that the proposed model has R-with a value outperforming the other models,which confirms the superiority of the proposed *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance and stability of the proposed approach and the recorded results proved the expected perfomance.

Exploring Winograd Convolution for Cost-effective Neural Network Fault Tolerance

Winograd is generally utilized to optimize convolution performance and computational efficiency because of the reduced multiplication operations, but the reliability issues brought by winograd are usually overlooked. In this work, we observe the great potential of winograd convolution in improving neural network (NN) fault tolerance. Based on the observation, we evaluate winograd convolution fault tolerance comprehensively from different granularities ranging from models, layers, and operation types for the first time. Then, we explore the use of inherent fault tolerance of winograd convolution for cost-effective NN protection against soft errors. Specifically, we mainly investigate how winograd convolution can be effectively incorporated with classical fault-tolerant design approaches including triple modular redundancy (TMR), fault-aware retraining, and constrained activation functions. According to our experiments, winograd convolution can reduce the fault-tolerant design overhead by 55.77% on average without any accuracy loss compared to standard convolution, and further reduce the computing overhead by 17.24% when the inherent fault tolerance of winograd convolution is considered. When it is applied on fault-tolerant neural networks enhanced with fault-aware retraining and constrained activation functions, the resulting model accuracy generally shows significant improvement in presence of various faults. We address the problem of learning new classes for semantic segmentation models from few examples, which is challenging because of the following two reasons. Firstly, it is difficult to learn from limited novel data to capture the underlying class distribution. Secondly, it is challenging to retain knowledge for existing classes and to avoid catastrophic forgetting. For learning from limited data, we propose a pseudo-labeling strategy to augment the few-shot training annotations in order to learn novel classes more effectively. Given only one or a few images labeled with the novel classes and a much larger set of unlabeled images, we transfer the knowledge from labeled images to unlabeled images with a coarse-to-fine pseudo-labeling approach in two steps. Specifically, we first match each labeled image to its nearest neighbors in the unlabeled image set at the scene level, in order to obtain images with a similar scene layout. This is followed by obtaining pseudo-labels within this neighborhood by applying classifiers learned on the few-shot annotations. In addition, we use knowledge distillation on both labeled and unlabeled data to retain knowledge on existing classes. We integrate the above steps into a single convolutional neural network with a unified learning objective. Extensive experiments on the Cityscapes and KITTI datasets validate the efficacy of the proposed approach in the self-driving domain. The design of an antenna requires a careful selection of its parameters to retain the desired ***,this task is time-consuming when the traditional approaches are employed,which represents a significant *** the other hand,machine learning presents an effective solution to this challenge through a set of regression models that can robustly assist antenna designers to find out the best set of design parameters to achieve the intended *** this paper,we propose a novel approach for accurately predicting the bandwidth of metamaterial *** proposed approach is based on employing the recently emerged guided whale optimization algorithm using adaptive particle swarm optimization to optimize the parameters of the long-short-term memory(LSTM)deep *** optimized network is used to retrieve the metamaterial bandwidth given a set of *** addition,the superiority of the proposed approach is examined in terms of a comparison with the traditional multilayer perceptron(ML),Knearest neighbors(K-NN),and the basic LSTM in terms of several evaluation criteria such as root mean square error(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and mean bias error(MBE).Experimental results show that the proposed approach could achieve RMSE of(0.003018),MAE of(0.001871),and MBE of(0.000205).These values are better than those of the other competing models.

Recently, medical research has revealed that diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) is less sensitive than susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) for acute ischemic stroke. Brain vein analysis in SWI is very important for personalised therapy, quantitative diagnosis, and prognosis of acute ischemic stroke. Therefore, the accurate segmentation of veins in SWI images has important significance in supplementary diagnosis and medical research. However, vein segmentation in SWI is a challenging task because different veins show distinct variability and uneven intensity and are difficult to manually split. This paper proposes an improvement method based on U-net, by using dense connection and mixing loss function, the best Dice coefficient and the ASSD were obtained by other comparison methods. The method presented in this article can be used as a potential tool to accurately measure SWI cerebral veins and help physicians in decision making. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper we present our findings in IT job market analysis and share our ideas of how they could be applied for designing new software development educational programs. This is relevant the current situation, when university programs cannot keep up with the changes in technologies and skills that employers require, also be constrained by Russian professional standards. To solve the problem of compatibility of educational programs with labor market requirements, we propose to create flexible educational programs based on the most common competencies in the most popular professions found in IT job advertisements. In total, we analyzed about 380000 IT vacancies for 2021-2022 downloaded from HeadHunter, the top Russian job website. The paper describes our results in classification of software engineering skills extracted from the job ads, and how one can apply these results for teaching new professions based on these skills. © 2022 IEEE.
