In the field of visual tracking, it is a significant challenge to accurately capture the dynamic changes of targets in complex scenes. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel Hierarchical Feature-Aware Network (HFAN) to improve tracking performance. The design of HFAN mainly includes two pivotal components: Feature-Enhanced Unit (FEU) and Hierarchical Feature-Aware Unit (HFAU). FEU enhances the richness and discriminative power of target representations by reinforcing features from the templates and search regions. HFAU establishes comprehensive dependencies among multi-level features to capture the changing characteristics of targets across different spatial hierarchies. Finally, a Siamese tracker called HFANTrack is proposed to improve tracking accuracy and robustness in complex scenarios. Extensive experimental results show that our method achieves competitive tracking performance with a real-time speed of 49.3fps compared to state-of-the-art methods.

The path planning of mobile robots is investigated to minimize energy loss in intelligent manufacturing. To achieve optimal energy consumption planning, this paper proposes a hybrid strategy that enhances the whale optimization algorithm (WOA) and the genetic algorithm (GA). The WOA-GA algorithm combines their respective advantages and effectively mitigates premature convergence exhibited by the standard traditional algorithm. To enhance the global and local search capabilities of the standard WOA, we employ adaptive weighting and a Cauchy mutation strategy. Additionally, we introduce an adaptive crossover mutation probability and an elite strategy to mitigate the detrimental effects of the genetic algorithm's evolutionary operation in the late iterations, thereby improving its performance. This paper compares the performance of the standard GA, the standard WOA-GA algorithm, and the enhanced WOA-GA algorithm. The experimental results demonstrate that the enhanced WOA-GA algorithm can achieve optimal energy-efficient path planning using the hybrid strategy. The average energy consumption of the enhanced WOA-GA algorithm can be reduced by 30%, while the maximum energy consumption can be reduced by 47%. The results confirm the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method in enhancing the level of green manufacturing. © 2023 IEEE.

This work investigates the problem of state estimation for nonlinear triangular systems having additional output measurements. The main objective of this paper is to propose observer design strategies that account for the available additional information, which is difficult to consider using the standard high-gain observer methodology. To deal with this challenge, we propose a novel observer design method to handle the additional output measurements. This method can be thought of as an extension of the standard high-gain observer by introducing a weighting matrix as a tuning parameter, which uses both the high-gain methodology and the LPV/LMI technique. The proposed approach was applied to a nonlinear longitudinal dynamic model that uses extra measurement information, in addition to the measured longitudinal position of the vehicle.

In medical practice, the precision of image segmentation is crucial for diagnosis and treatment evaluations. Specifically, in dentistry, accurate teeth segmentation from bite-wing images is important for automatic and objective evaluations of root canal treatments. This study introduces $\text{Swin}-\mathrm{U}^{2} \text{Net}$ , a model merging the nested dual UNet with residual U-block and Swin Transformers. It combines the local feature extraction capability of the former and the global attention and context understanding of the latter. It has been evaluated for tooth root segmentation using 500 bite-wing dental x-ray images obtained from a root canal treatment clinic. It achieved the best segmentation outcome in terms of Intersection over Union (IOU) and the third best result in terms of Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) with the second least amount of network parameters among six UNet-like models, thus it is effective and efficient.

Gas turbine health management is of great significant for enhancing flight safety and reducing maintenance costs. Based on the architecture of gas turbine fault identification system, a multi-arm spiral microphone array with high positioning accuracy, high beam resolution, and strong anti-interference capability is designed in this paper with simulation and experiment. On this basis, by utilizing multi-channel acoustic digital acquisition and analysis equipment, high-precision, wide dynamic range, and high-real-time acquisition of audio data from the combustion chamber of gas turbines are achieved. An audio data analysis strategy based on feature extraction and an autoencoder network construction strategy are proposed, fulfilling the imaging of audio data from the combustion chamber of gas turbines, which can effectively identify gas turbine faults. Experiments conducted on the platform of the multi-arm spiral microphone array indecates that the proposed fault detection strategy has an accuracy rate of over 98%. This is of great theoretical significance and practical value for enhancing the level of gas turbine fault detection, and improving the performance, reliability, and lifespan of gas turbine systems.

The neurosemantic approach allows the formation of information management systems based on incoming information flows. This paper explores the possibilities of molecular genetic algorithms of multiscale information analysis for displaying neurosemantic networks in various parametric spaces. The practical application of such a combined approach for tasks of molecular diagnostics of genetic diseases using Walsh’s orthogonal functions is proposed. Issues of interaction between semantics and semiotics in the context of the phenomenon of consciousness and brain are considered. A kinetic approach is also used to construct random graphs, which in a geometric version allows obtaining complex structures;after a percolation transition, a complex cluster can be compared with elements of consciousness. The importance of the study is due to the fact that scientific progress requires new methods to optimize the perception of the results of neural network analysis, as well as the perception of big data with the possibility of analysis at various scales of visualization. Towards Secure Semantic Communications in the Presence of Intelligent Eavesdroppers

Semantic communication (SemCom) has emerged as a promising paradigm for enhancing communication efficiency in sixth-generation (6G) networks. However, the broadcast nature of wireless channels makes SemCom systems vulnerable to eavesdropping, which poses a serious threat to data privacy. Therefore, we investigate secure SemCom systems that preserve data privacy in the presence of eavesdroppers. Specifically, we first explore a scenario where eavesdroppers are intelligent and can exploit semantic information to reconstruct the transmitted data based on advanced artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. To counter this, we introduce novel eavesdropping attack strategies that utilize model inversion attacks and generative AI (GenAI) models. These strategies effectively reconstruct transmitted private data processed by the semantic encoder, operating in both glass-box and closed-box settings. Existing defense mechanisms against eavesdropping often cause significant distortions in the data reconstructed by eavesdroppers, potentially arousing their suspicion. To address this, we propose a semantic covert communication approach that leverages an invertible neural network (INN)-based signal steganography module. This module covertly embeds the channel input signal of a private sample into that of a non-sensitive host sample, thereby misleading eavesdroppers. Without access to this module, eavesdroppers can only extract host-related information and remain unaware of the hidden private content. We conduct extensive simulations under various channel conditions in image transmission tasks. Numerical results show that while conventional eavesdropping strategies achieve a success rate of over 80% in reconstructing private information, the proposed semantic covert communication effectively reduces the eavesdropping success rate to 0%. Furthermore, results demonstrate that eavesdroppers can reconstruct host images with relatively good quality, achieving a peak signal-to-noise ratio

This paper proposes some powerful techniques to design and development data packages used for multiple plants embedded wireless digital controller. The system performs data exchanging using master-slave topology, the common one in industrial automation systems. The master and slaves are implemented on low-cost IoT-supported 32-bit microcontroller. The Free-RTOS is used as real-time operating system. All drivers of the master and slave controllers are implemented using C language and mainly preforms bitwise operations to obtain the speed and efficiency of the code execution. The plants used in this research are brushed dc-motors driven by PWM-based bidirectional H-bridge drivers. There are four types of the data packages are proposed. The data packages are designed using bit-representation data formation techniques. The data package design technique requires only one byte for the package header. It can reduce numbers of bytes of data exchanged over network. To archive the real-time control and monitoring capabilities of the system, the WebSockets protocol is selected implemented in all devices, master, slaves and computer. In addition, the proposed system is also evaluated on other protocols, the HTTP and MQTT. The experimental results show that the proposed techniques, system design and data package design, can perform on all communication protocols, no package loss. Using the WebSockets as communication protocol can archive the real-time capability of the system. It means that the proposed system can be implemented in real-world applications, the industrial real-time control monitoring and control systems. © 2019 IEEE.
