The target of this paper is studying the quasi-synchronization problems of the heterogeneous Lur'e networks with impulsive feedback control. By introducing impulsive feedback control, the heterogeneous Lur'e network is analyzed. The sufficient condition for guaranteeing quasi-synchronization is derived by means of linear matrix inequality(LMI), the Schur complement and the principle of comparison. More over, the upper bound of exponential quasi-synchronization errors is further calculated. Finally, the numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the control protocol and theoretical results.

Learning robust controllers for linear quadratic systems with multiplicative noise via policy gradient

The linear quadratic regulator (LQR) problem has reemerged as an important theoretical benchmark for reinforcement learning-based control of complex dynamical systems with continuous state and action spaces. In contrast with nearly all recent work in this area, we consider multiplicative noise models, which are increasingly relevant because they explicitly incorporate inherent uncertainty and variation in the system dynamics and thereby improve robustness properties of the controller. Robustness is a critical and poorly understood issue in reinforcement learning;existing methods which do not account for uncertainty can converge to fragile policies or fail to converge at all. Additionally, intentional injection of multiplicative noise into learning algorithms can enhance robustness of policies, as observed in ad hoc work on domain randomization. Although policy gradient algorithms require optimization of a non-convex cost function, we show that the multiplicative noise LQR cost has a special property called gradient domination, which is exploited to prove global convergence of policy gradient algorithms to the globally optimum control policy with polynomial dependence on problem parameters. Results are provided both in the model-known and model-unknown settings where samples of system trajectories are used to estimate policy gradients. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. In this paper, an energy management problem of a distribution system is studied. The energy trading among a distribution company and some aggregators controlling flexible loads and electric vehicles is modeled as a large-scale Nash bargaining problem. A distributed approach is proposed using the alternating direction method of multipliers decomposition technique, to keep privacy of traders and reduce calculation complexities. We prove that the proposed method admits a Nash bargaining solution. Since the participants' information is not available beforehand, we design an MPC-based algorithm to overcome system uncertainties. To verify the proposed approach a numerical scenario has been simulated and the results show the efficiency of the proposed online method.

Electric Vehicles (EVs) will be used rampantly in future transportation system. Although the uncontrolled charging of these EVs will be threatening for the stability of the grid, a compatible energy trading policy may provide beneficial services to the grid as well as preserving the sustainability of the system. In this paper, by taking advantage of block rate tariff, a wholesale pricing policy is introduced. A multi-objective approach is utilized to address the cost reduction and load leveling services concurrently. Due to the high computational complexity of a centralized problem, a game theoretic approach is exerted in order to design decentralized controllers for EVs. Moreover, an MPC approach is introduced in order to deal with unplanned deviation in the state of the system in future hours. Simulation results verify that the proposed method can effectively reform performance of the system.

The re-emission of dimethylamine (DMA), as a famous malodorous volatile organic compound (VOC), exhausted from various industries receives emerging concerns. Herein, a metal-free carbocatalyst derived from waste masks was developed to inhibit DMA re-emission via activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS). The optimal inhibition efficiency was around 99%, 85-fold higher than that without any carbocatalysts and PMS. Such enhancement was ascribed to the rapid conversion of DMA ( kobs = 0.67 min-1, 4 min) into non-volatile and lower toxic substances (NO3− , NO2− and aliphatic acids) by electron transfer and singlet oxygenation. Experiments combined with correlation analysis and theoretical calculations unveiled that the intensified graphitization degree promoted the electron migration from DMA to the carbocatalyst/PMS* complex due to the enhanced conductivity and elevated redox potential, and PMS preferentially absorbed on the electron-rich C=O and deprotonated COO− groups rather than C-OH and COOH of carbocatalyst and then released SO5•− for the generation of 1O2 . Based on the theory, tuning the graphitization degree and amount of C=O and COO− groups via a simple annealing strategy triggered a shift from singlet oxygenation to predominantly direct electron transfer pathway, thus achieving optimal suppression efficiency of DMA re-emission. Finally, electrical energy per order (EE/O) analysis demonstrated our technology had a relatively low EE/O value (3.56 kWh/m3 ) and cost (0.47 $/m3 ). Considering the high efficiency and low cost of carbocatalytic PMS system endowed with clear mechanism and controllable properties, this work, therefore, pioneers an unparalleled approach for the industrial governance of effluvial VOCs treatment, and provides new insights into the tunable nonradical oxidation mechanism of carbocatalytic PMS activation. © 2022, The Authors. Novel DEEA-based biphasic solvent with low regeneration temperature and good cyclic absorption/desorption stability for CO2 capture

Tertiary amine-based biphasic solvents exhibit desorption properties, which is beneficial for reducing energy consumption. A DEEA/AMP/2-Me/H2O biphasic solvent was proposed. DEEA, a tertiary amine, was used as the main absorbent, 2-Me served as a phase splitter, and AMP functioned as an activator. The introduction of AMP (4 %) raised the CO2 loading from 3.83 to 4.10 mol/L, constituting 95.7 % of captured CO2. Moreover, the absorbent demonstrated robust cyclic stability and exceptional desorption ability at low temperatures, attributable to its deprotonation regeneration mechanism. Notably, it achieved a remarkably high desorption capacity of 3.61 mol/L at 363.15 K, accompanied by a desorption efficiency of up to 88.0 %. These values surpassed those of 30 wt% MEA, which exhibited a desorption capacity of 1.73 mol/L and an efficiency of 58.8 % at 393.15 K, by 209 % and 150 %. Given that 363.15 K was beneath the boiling point of H2O, the Qlatent was exceptionally minimal (0.034 GJ/t CO2), leading to a remarkably decreased regeneration heat (1.51 GJ/t CO2). A combination of NMR analysis, DFT and MD simulations was utilized to elucidate the phase separation mechanism. The primary factor contributing to phase separation was identified as the formation of a robust hydrogen bonding network among the absorption products. © 2025

Effect of F, V and Mn co-doping on the catalytic performance of TiO 2 -pillared bentonite in the photocatalytic denitration

F, V and Mn co-doped TiO 2 -pillared bentonite was prepared by the sol-gel method and characterized by XRD, nitrogen sorption, UV-vis spectroscopy, SEM, etc.; its performance in the photocatalytic denitration of NO was investigated under visible light irradiation at room temperature. The results indicate that the photocatalytic denitration efficiency of F-V-Mn co-doped TiO 2 -pillared bentonite for NO at a concentration of 661 μg/m 3 is approximately 100%; when the concentration of NO increases to 1657 μg/m 3 , the photocatalytic efficiency decreases to 81.9%, which is however 33.8% higher than that over the unpillared F-V-Mn co-doped TiO 2 . The reaction rate constant over the F-V-Mn co-doped TiO 2 -pillared bentonite is twice as high as that over the V-Mn co-doped TiO 2 pillared bentonite; moreover, the F-V-Mn co-doped TiO 2 -pillared bentonite also displays improved resistance against water and SO 2 poisoning. TiO 2 pillars can not only retain the flaky crystal structure of bentonite, but also increase the distance between bentonite layers from 0.667 to 0.710 nm and enhance the adsorption capacity. Meanwhile, the doping elements can inhibit the growth of TiO 2 rutile and reduce the band gap of TiO 2 , which is effective in improving the response to visible light, prolonging the service life, and broadening the application range of TiO 2 for the photocatalytic denitration.

Speciation analysis of arsenic in coal and its combustion by-products in coal-fired power plants

The speciations of Arsenic (As) in coal will inevitably convert during the combustion process. The As speciations in coal and its by-products are closely related to human health and environmental safety which is urgent to be identified. However, there is a lack of pretreatment procedure and analysis method on the As species in coal-related products in power plants. In this study, the As species in coal, fly ash (FA), and gypsum were successfully determined by high performance liquid chromatography coupled with hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HPLC-HG-AFS). The instrument parameters, extract reagents, and pretreatment methods (i.e. ultrasound and microwave-assisted) were optimized. The whole separation time of inorganic As was shorten to 7 min after optimization, with the detection limit of 1.8 and 4.6 ng/g for As(III) and As(V), respectively. The efficient As extract reagent was the mixture of 1.0 mol/L H 3 PO 4 and 0.1 mol/L ascorbic acid solution. Microwave-assisted (2000 W, 80°C, 40 min) and ultrasound-assisted (40 kHz, 20°C, 40 min) schemes were the optimal extraction methods for coal/FA and gypsum samples, respectively. Under the proposed microwave and ultrasound extraction procedure, the recovery of As(III) and As(V) could reach to 95.8%/104.5% and 90.6%/89.7%, respectively. The dominant occurrence of As species in coal was As(V) with a small percentage of As(III), while As(V) was the only occurrence form observed in FA and gypsum. It is indicated that revealing the transformation of As(III) to As(V) is the key for gaseous As capture. The As species distribution investigation provides a scientific insight to the controlling of As emission from power plant.

An active reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided multi-user downlink communication system is investigated, where non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is employed to improve spectral efficiency, and the active RIS is powered by energy harvesting (EH). The problem of joint control of the RIS’s amplification matrix and phase shift matrix is formulated to maximize the communication success ratio with considering the quality of service (QoS) requirements of users, dynamic communication state, and dynamic available energy of RIS. To tackle this non-convex problem, a cascaded deep learning algorithm namely long short-term memory-deep deterministic policy gradient (LSTM-DDPG) is designed. First, an advanced LSTM based algorithm is developed to predict users’ dynamic communication state. Then, based on the prediction results, a DDPG based algorithm is proposed to joint control the amplification matrix and phase shift matrix of the RIS. Finally, simulation results verify the accuracy of the prediction of the proposed LSTM algorithm, and demonstrate that the LSTM-DDPG algorithm has a significant advantage over other benchmark algorithms in terms of communication success ratio performance. This paper demonstrates the design and fabrication of three-dimensional(3 D) hexagonally ordered microbowl arrays(MBAs) decorated with Cu In S2 nanosheets for enhanced photoelectrochemical(PEC) performance. The 3 D MBAs are fabricated by a micro-fabrication technique. The ultrathin CuInS2 nanosheets are grown on the 3 D electrodes by solvothermal transformation of Cu film. The photocurrent density of 3 D photocathode(CuInS2@MBAs) is about two times higher than that of the planar counterpart(CuInS2@Planar). The improved PEC performance can be ascribed to the elevated light trapping ability and the increased surface area for loading photocatalysts. In addition, CdS quantum dots as cocatalysts are modified onto the Cu In S2 nanosheets to further enhance the PEC activity because the formed p-n heterojunction can accelerate the separation of photogenerated carriers. As a result, the 3 D photocathode of CuInS2/CdS@MBAs shows an optimal incident photon to current efficiency of 10% at the wavelength of400 nm. It is believed that this work can be generalized to design other hierarchical 3 D photoelectrodes for improved solar water splitting.
