In this paper, the quantized control problem is discussed for a class of highly nonlinear stochastic systems with multiple delays under the DoS attacks. The coefficients are allowed to be highly nonlinear, and the control input is subject to the quantization effects and the DoS attacks. The aim is to deal with the stabilization problem for unstable highly nonlinear stochastic systems with multiple delays. The p-th moment exponential stability and almost surely exponential stability are discussed in light of the Lyapunov theory. Finally, an illustrative example is given to verify the validity of the theoretical results. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

We formulate a general mathematical framework for self-tuning network control architecture design. This problem involves jointly adapting the locations of active sensors and actuators in the network and the feedback control policy to all available information about the time-varying network state and dynamics to optimize a performance criterion. We propose a general solution structure analogous to the classical self-tuning regulator from adaptive control. We show that a special case with full-state feedback can be solved in principle with dynamic programming, and in the linear quadratic setting the optimal cost functions and policies are piecewise quadratic and piecewise linear, respectively. For large networks where exhaustive architecture search is prohibitive, we describe a greedy heuristic for joint architecture-policy design. We demonstrate in numerical experiments that self-tuning architectures can provide dramatically improved performance over fixed architectures. Our general formulation provides an extremely rich and challenging problem space with opportunities to apply a wide variety of approximation methods from stochastic control, system identification, reinforcement learning, and static architecture design.

In this paper, an adaptive event-triggered filtering problem is discussed for power systems subject to multiple cyberattacks and hybrid measurements. A model describing the multiple cyber-attacks is constructed, which includes the denial of service attack and replay attack. In order to decrease the data transmission frequency, according to the practical requirements, an adaptive event-triggered strategy is adopted to schedule the node transmission. To be specific, the upper bound of the estimation error covariance is firstly obtained by solving the difference equations and employing the time-stamp method. Next, the desired estimator gain matrix is designed by minimizing the corresponding upper bound. Finally, an illustrative example is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed estimation algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper discusses the design problem of recursive filtering method for time-varying nonlinear delayed systems (NDSs) with stochastic parameter matrices (SPMs) and censored measurements. In particular, the Tobit Type I model provides a description of the censored measurements. The main objective of this paper is to construct a recursive filter for NDSs with both SPMs and censored measurements. The upper bound of the filtering error covariance is first calculated via mathematical induction, and the upper bound is then minimized by choosing proper filter gain. Besides, a sufficient condition is provided to guarantee that the filtering error is uniformly bounded in the mean-square sense. Finally, the viability and applicability of the proposed filtering method are demonstrated using a numerical simulation. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In this paper, the distributed state estimation method with resilient attenuation feature is proposed for time-varying fractional-order complex networks under encoding-decoding mechanism. The encoding-decoding-induced dynamic errors for distinct nodes are characterized by the truncated Gaussian distributions. In order to compensate the effects induced by encoding-decoding scheme, the variances of encoding-decoding-induced dynamic errors are considered in process of designing the resilient distributed estimation algorithm. In particular, the upper bounds of updated estimation error covariances are derived firstly. Subsequently, the upper bounds are minimized by constructing the gain matrices at each sampling instant. Besides, a sufficient condition is provided to guarantee the boundedness of estimation error dynamics in the mean-square sense. Finally, the validity of distributed resilient state estimation scheme is demonstrated by a simulation example. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In this paper, a motion planning algorithm for floating planar under-actuated hyper-redundant snake robots is proposed. The presented algorithm generates locally optimal shape trajectories, i.e., continuous trajectories in the base space of the robot. Such shape trajectories produce a desired rotation of the snake robot, i.e., change in the uncontrolled orientation fiber variable. The proposed method formulates the motion planning problem as an optimization problem where the objective function could be defined to minimize various metrics, such as energy-based cost functions. Additionally, the proposed motion planning algorithm uses a heuristic to generate shape trajectories that avoid self-intersections and obstacle collision. Hence, the motion planning method generates shape trajectories that locally minimize user-defined cost functions and eliminate self-intersections or obstacle collision. The proposed gait generation method is validated using numerical simulations of five-link and seven-link snake robots. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, the distributed state and fault fusion filtering problem is discussed for a class of multi-sensor networked systems (MSNSs) with randomly occurring quantized measurements (ROQMs). A series of random variables obeying the Bernoulli distribution are adopted to depict the phenomenon of the ROQMs and the fault signal is assumed to appear with an unknown constant type. The aim of this paper is to provide the state and fault fusion filtering algorithm by using the inverse covariance intersection fusion method. Moreover, a proper filter gain is designed by minimizing the local upper bound of filtering error covariance. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented fusion method is verified by using an illustrative example. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, the outlier-resistant distributed filtering problem based on amplify-and-forward relays is studied for discrete time-varying nonlinear multi-rate systems with multiple measurement delays over sensor networks, where the augmenting method is utilized to transform the multi-rate system into a single rate system. An amplify-and-forward (AF) relay is set between the sensor and the filter to extend the transmission distance of the signal and ensure the communication transmission quality. The outlier-resistant distributed filter is constructed by introducing a saturation function to limit the innovations, then the upper bound on the filtering error covariance is obtained and the filter gain is designed to minimize such obtained upper bound. Finally, a numerical example is used to show the effectiveness of the outlier-resistant distributed filtering algorithm based on AF relays. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In this paper, a double closed-loop control method is proposed for three-dimensional optimal trajectory tracking control of underactuated autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), Firstly, a five-degree-of-freedom mathematical model of under-Actuated AUV is established. Secondly, an output redefinition method is adopted to solve underactuated control problem. On this basis, a backstepping method is utilized to design the outer-loop controller where virtual velocity is derived using the error between input and output of the system. Next, an adaptive dynamic programming method is used to design the inner-loop controller, where the performance index function containing the disturbance upper bound is set, and a neural network is employed to solve the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation online. Finally, the Lyapunov theorem is used to establish that all signals of the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

Microwave radiation has received extensive attention due to its significant thermal and nonthermal effects, and the development of MW-based denitrification in flue gas has become one of the most promising methods to avoid the defects of ammonia escape, high temperature and cost in traditional SCR. This review introduces the thermal and non-thermal effects of microwaves and divides MW-based denitrification methods into MW reduction and oxidation denitrification, systematically summarizes these denitrification methods, including MW discharge reduction, MW-induced catalytic reduction using active carbon, molecular sieves, metal oxides(transition metals, perovskites, etc.), MW-induced oxidation denitrification with and without additional oxidant, and discusses their removal pathway and mechanism. Finally, several research prospects and directions regarding the development of microwave-based denitrification methods are provided.
