Over the last several decades,scientists have established a wealth of evidence to demonstrate the risks posed to human health by toxic elements in atmospheric particulate matter(PM).Antimony(Sb),as one of ever ignored PM-bound heavy metals,attracts more and more attentions and has been regarded as one emerging air pollutant with the change of pollution sources of particulate *** study the distribution of Sb in PM with different particle sizes is of great practical significance for understanding its source and health *** this study,the size distributions of Sb in PM(PM_(2.5),PM_(10)and TSP)in different seasons were studied from July 2018 to May *** high concentration of PM-bound Sb was found and the health risk was *** was enriched in fine particles and showed higher values in winter,which was probably caused by coal combustion and meteorological *** was also found that traffic-related non-exhaust emissions might become another main contribution to fine particle *** risk assessment demonstrated that the hazard quotient(HQ)of Sb in PM_(2.5)and PM_(10)for children(PM_(2.5):1.54,PM_(10):1.32)exceeded the acceptable threshold and ingestion contributed the most to the HQ for both children and adults.

SA-U-Net++: SAR marine floating raft aquaculture identification based on semantic segmentation and ISAR augmentation

Marine floating raft aquaculture (FRA) monitoring is vital for environment protection and mariculture management. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) could provide high-quality remote sensing images under all weather conditions compared with the existing optical remote-sensing-based methods. Traditional SAR monitoring methods extract the pixel feature of marine FRA in single patches, which commonly leads to poor generalization. We propose a self-Attention semantic segmentation method based on modified U-Net++ (SA-U-Net++) for FRA segmentation, which could automatically extract semantic feature information, and provide superior performance under complicated scenes. The proposed self-Attention backbone could help to extract more precise features and enhance the overall accuracy. Furthermore, we propose a FRA-ISAR data generation method based on inverse SAR (ISAR) imaging to alleviate the sample shortage problem. We introduce the semantic segmentation method into FRA-SAR segmentation for the first time. The experiments verify the effectiveness and superiority of SAR FRA segmentation based on the proposed SA-U-Net++ model compared with the existed semantic segmentation approaches. © 2021 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).

In this brief paper, a data-based method on the fault diagnosis in aero-engine transmission systems is developed. Firstly, during the operation of splines, we acquire the acceleration vibration signal. We process the signal into time-frequency images using the short-time Fourier transform. Then, the improved convolutional neural network with channel attention is trained using time-frequency images of multiple fault signals. Finally, we implement fault prediction for spline wear and misalignment faults in aero-engine transmission systems. The result shows that the fault diagnosis using the proposed method has a high level of accuracy. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In this paper, a framework for robustness analysis of wind turbine control systems is proposed. This framework is employed to examine and compare the robust performance of ${{\mathcal{H}}_\infty }$ and PI blade pitch controllers designed to maintain the turbine’s generated power at its rated value in Region 3 of the turbine operation. In this framework, a turbulent wind model based on the Kaimal characterization of turbulence is added to the closed-loop wind turbine model obtained by linearizing the nonlinear model at different mean wind speeds. The framework utilizes the theory of Integral Quadratic Constraints (IQCs), whereby IQCs and signal IQCs are used to perform the analysis. The proposed framework results in an improved characterization of the system’s performance. The analysis results are validated via extensive high-fidelity simulations.

The study of graphs reliability polynomials is of both theoretical and practical interest. Generally, the problem of reliability polynomial calculation is NP-hard. In this paper we find analytic solution of this problem in some practical cases. Thus, linear complexity algorithm is offered for calculation of reliability of rectangular lattice strip. Graphs of this type can be used to model the topology of wireless sensor networks used to monitor long engineering infrastructure objects, such as pipeline systems. Sensors can be installed on the pipeline, inside it, or placed in the environment near the controlled object. To increase the efficiency of detecting events of interest, pairs of sensors operating on different physical principles can be used. By connecting paired sensors and neighboring homogeneous sensors with channels, we obtain a topology that is a rectangular lattice strip. However, this topology has advantages over linear sensor networks only if the channel reliability is high enough. Corresponding investigations have been presented in the paper. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper proposes model reduction approaches for consensus network systems based on a given clustering of the underlying graph. Namely, given a consensus network system of time-scaled agents evolving over a weighted undirected graph and a graph clustering, a parameterized reduced consensus network system is constructed with its edge weights and nodal time-scales as the parameters to be optimized. H∞- and H2-based optimization approaches are proposed to select the reduced network parameters such that the corresponding approximation errors, i.e., the H∞- and H2-norms of the error system, are minimized. The effectiveness of the proposed model reduction methods is illustrated via a numerical example. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Exocarpium citreic grandis is the immature outer peel of grapefruit and contains active ingredients such as naringin and rhoifolin. The drying temperature can have a significant effect on the constituents. In order to explore the rules of moisture and quality changes in exocarpium citreic grandis during microwave vacuum drying, this study investigated the effects of different microwave intensities (0.75, 1.25, 1.50, 1.75, 2.00 W/g) on the drying characteristics and main component content of exocarpium citreic grandis. The results showed that, at a microwave intensity of 0.75 W/g, the drying process was controlled by a constant speed stage. At microwave intensities of 1.25 W/g and 1.50 W/g, the drying process was divided into three parts including acceleration stage, constant speed stage, and deceleration stage. When the microwave intensity increased to 1.75 W/g and 2.00 W/g, the drying process was divided into acceleration and deceleration stages with no constant speed drying stage. The resulted data suggested that the thin-layer drying kinetics model of exocarpium citreic grandis was fitted. The selection principle of the model was analyzed from four aspects including modification of the original model, transformation of dependent and independent variables, complex model, and initial and terminal conditions. Lewis, Page, Two-term exponential, and Weibull distribution models were selected for fitting analysis. The optimal thin-layer drying models were the Page model and the Weibull distribution model. The scale parameter α of the Weibull distribution function decreased with the increase in microwave intensity. The shape parameter β underwent slight changes with moisture migration mechanisms being the combined effect of surface moisture evaporation and internal moisture diffusion. Star anise, rich in effective active constituents, is extensively employed in the pharmaceutical and food industries. The drying temperature can irreversibly damage these constituents. To enhance the drying quality and efficiency, this study undertook experiments using three drying methods on star anise including microwave vacuum drying, hot air drying, and a combination of microwave vacuum and hot air drying. The research examined the impacts of varying drying conditions on the drying characteristics of star anise, the moisture diffusion coefficient, and the primary component contents (anethole and shikimic acid). Models were separately established for microwave vacuum and hot air thin-layer drying kinetics including Lewis, Weibull distribution, two-term exponential, Wang, and Singh models, and a Weibull distribution model for combined microwave vacuum-hot air drying. The results indicated that drying with microwave vacuum and hot air primarily proceeded in a falling rate drying phase, whereas combined microwave vacuum and hot air drying encompassed both falling rate and constant rate stages. The effective moisture diffusion coefficients (Deff) for microwave vacuum drying and hot air drying of star anise ranged from 3.4423E-07 to 8.8239E-07 m2/s and 2.0386E-08 to 8.8239E-07 m2/s, respectively, while the Deff for combined microwave and hot air drying ranged from 2.8683E-07 to 4.8014E-07 m2/s and 7.9516E-8 to 2.0964E-7 m2/s, respectively. Evidently, segmented combined drying facilitated more convenient moisture diffusion, and both coefficients increased with microwave power and hot air temperature. During the microwave vacuum and hot air drying processes, both the Wang and Singh models and the Weibull distribution models showed good fitting effects. The Weibull distribution model could effectively predict the drying behavior of segmented microwave vacuum and hot air drying of star anise. A distributed fault-tolerant formation control law is designed in this paper for multi-agent systems under external disturbances and actuator faults including time-varying loss of effectiveness faults. The initial position of each agent is already on a circle and the control purpose is to form a desired formation on this circle. Based on this local information, a distributed adaptive formation control law is designed by employing the congelation of variables method to deal with time-varying actuator faults. Robust stability and stochastic stability have separately seen intense study in control theory since its inception. In this work we establish relations between these properties for discrete-time systems. Specifically, we examine a robustness framework which models the inherent uncertainty and variation in the system dynamics which arise in model-based learning control methods such as adaptive control and reinforcement learning. We provide results which guarantee mean-square stability margins in terms of multiplicative noises which affect the nominal dynamics, as well as connections to prior work which together imply that robust stability and mean-square stability are, in a certain sense, equivalent.
