Exploring efficient transition-metal-based electrocatalysts is critical for the wide application of electrochemical hydrogen generation *** the phase displays prominent influence on their performance,it remains a major challenge to achieve phase regulation in the same synthesis method and elucidate the intrinsic relationship between the phase and ***,we developed a sulfur induced electrodeposition strategy to achieve the precise phase regulation of nickel-based materials from Ni(OH)_(2)to Ni and Ni_(3)S_(2).S atoms can be introduced into Ni and Ni(OH)_(2)due to sulfur inducement,and the S proportion is finely controlled via changing the deposition ***,the obtained S-Ni catalyst displays enhanced hydrogen evolution activity with an ultralow overpotential of 27 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2),which is superior to the S-Ni(OH)_(2),Ni_(3)S_(2),and even Pt/*** functional theory(DFT)calculations disclose the S-Ni catalyst exhibits optimal charge state and local coordination,remarkably optimizing the water adsorption and Ni-H^(*)binding *** work provides new insights into phase regulation in electrodeposition and an understanding of the intrinsic relationship between phase and activity.

Identifying potential sources of pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PPCPs)in the environment is critical for the effective control of PPCP *** leachate is an important source of PPCPs in water;however,it has barely been involved in source apportionment due to the lack of indicator-PPCPs(i-PPCPs)in landfill *** study provides the first systematic framework for identifying i-PPCPs for landfill leachates based on the wide-scope target monitoring of *** number of target PPCPs increased from<20 in previous studies to 68 in the present ***-nine PPCPs were detected,with median concentrations in leachate samples ranging from below the method quantification limit(MQL)to 41μg/L,and 19 of them were rarely reported previously.A total of 29 target compounds were determined to be PPCPs of high concern by principal component analysis according to multiple criteria,including occurrence,exposure potential,and ecological *** with source-specificity and representativeness analysis,erythromycin,gemfibrozil,and albendazole showed a significant difference in their occurrence in leachate compared to other potential sources(untreated and treated municipal wastewater and livestock wastewater)and correlated with total PPCP concentrations;these were recommended as i-PPCPs for *** screening procedure can be used to develop a sophisticated source apportionment method to identify sources of PPCPs from adjacent landfills.

Emerging contaminants (ECs) are widely present in aquatic environments, posing potential risks to both ecosystems and human health. Theultrasound-assisted persulfate oxidation process has attracted considerable attention in the degradation of ECs due to its ability to generate bothsulfate radicals and cavitation effects, enhancing degradation effects. In this paper, the principle of ultrasonic synergistic Fenton-like oxidationsystem for degrading organic pollutants was reviewed, divided into homogeneous system, non-homogeneous system, and single-atom system toexplore the synergistic effect of ultrasound-enhanced persulfate technology in three aspects, and the effects of environmental factors such asultrasonic frequency and power, system pH, temperature, and initial oxidant concentration on the system's decontamination performance werediscussed. Finally, future research on ultrasonically activated persulfate technology is summarized and prospected.

One of the fundamental tasks for security and economical operation of smart grid is to accommodate every kinds of renewable green *** future wind speed prediction by spatial correlation is a new approach to improve the reliability and accuracy of wind power *** the future local wind speed prediction,it is theoretically deduced by the causes of wind in dynamic meteorology and characteristics of binary linear regression in mathematical statistics:although the pressure gradient force is the primary force of wind,the existence of measurement errors makes that the upstream wind speed is the primary influencing factor where the spatial distance is short;both the pressure gradient force and the upstream wind speed are used where the spatial distance becomes *** a case study,to improve the reliability and accuracy of wind power forecasting during monsoons in east and southeast coastal region of China,the correlation numerical analyses and regression predictions show that about 600 km is the distance to change influencing *** partial least squares regression,support vector regression,long short-term memory,and deep belief network are employed to the regression predictions.A regional spatial correlation prediction network is suggested to be establish in this *** for the wind speed predictions of monsoons within lead timelO hours,one hour lead time increasing makes about 0.15 m/s increasing of the root mean square error.

The prediction of the remaining useful life (RUL) of rolling bearings is one of the current research hotspots. However, due to the influence of internal degradation and external interference, the whole life cycle of rolling bearing is extremely complex and changeable, and the prediction accuracy of the existing methods needs to be improved. In order to realize the accurate RUL prediction of complex degradation process, a deep learning model based on stage division is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the feature indexes are extracted from time domain, frequency domain and time-frequency domain, and the canonical variate dissimilarity analysis (CVDA) that can handle dynamic data is used for feature reduction to obtain statistics containing streamlined degradation information. Secondly, the kernel density estimation (KDE) and expert knowledge are used to divide the whole life cycle into multiple stages based on the trend and fluctuation of statistics. Then, with the combination of convolution neural network (CNN) and Bi-directional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM), the CNN-BiLSTM-Attention network is proposed, in which the attention mechanism is developed to highlight the focus. Moreover, the Bayesian optimization algorithm is used to adjust the network hyperparameters. Finally, the effectiveness is verified by using the accelerated life test data of rolling bearings. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Recent advances in semiconductors industry and microelectronics have created new opportunities for integrating various technologies in energy harvesting projects. These advancements have simplified the process of capturing energy from different sources, such as thermal energy, and converting it into electrical power. Thermo-Electric Generators (TEGs) are commonly used in many applications such as wearable devices. However Thermo-Electric Generators produce very low output voltages, which is insufficient for most low-power electronic circuits to operate. Therefore, a boost converter is essential to step up the voltage output from the TEG to a usable level. In this paper, a DC-DC converter with a high performance in terms of voltage gain is implemented. The proposed quasi-Z-source (q-ZSC) DC-DC converter not only offers high voltage gain but also several significant advantages. The proposed q-ZSC is capable of both boosting and regulating the voltage output efficiently, even under variable input conditions, making it highly suitable for low-power energy harvesting systems such as Thermo-Electric Generators. The design is simulated using MATLAB Simulink software, focusing on integrated circuits, with a strong emphasis on optimizing the circuit's efficiency. This work underscores critical factors in improving energy harvesting circuits, enhancing their performance and effectiveness in low-power applications for wearable technology. © 2024 The Authors.

Highly efficient Hg2+ removal via a competitive strategy using a Co-based metal organic framework ZIF-67

The stronger coordination ability of mercury ions with organic ligands than the metal ions in metal organic framework(MOFs) provides an accessible way to separate mercury ions from solution using specific MOFs. In this study, a Co-based MOF(ZIF-67, Co(mIM)) was synthesized. It did not introduce specific functional groups, such as-SH and-NH, into its structure through complicated steps. It separate Hgfrom wastewater with a new strategy, which utilized the stronger coordination ability of Hgwith the nitrogen atom on the imidazole ring of the organic ligand than the Coions. Hgreplaced Conodes from ZIF-67 and formed a more stable precipitate with m IM. The experimental results showed that this new strategy was efficient. ZIF-67 exhibited Hgadsorption capacity of 1740 mg/g, much higher than the known MOFs sorbents. m IMs is the reaction center and ZIF-67 can improve its utilization. The sample color faded from purple to white due to the loss of cobalt ion. It is a great feature of ZIF-67 that allows users to judge whether the sorbent is deactivated intuitively. ZIF-67 can be sustainable recycled by adding organic ligands to the solution after treatment due to its simple synthesis method at room temperature. It’s a high-efficient and sustainable sorbent for Hgseparation from wastewater.

LnMnO_(3+σ)(Ln=La,Pr,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd or Dy)perovskites synthesized by sol-gel method were employed for gaseous elemental mercury(Hg^(0))removal from coal-fired flue *** results revealed the structure of the perovskites presented a phase transition process from rhombohedral system to O-and O'-orthorhombic structure with the change of A-site rare earth *** perovskites showed satisfactory Hg^(0) removal capacity in a narrow temperature range of 100-150℃.NdMnO_(3+σ) with an O-O'orthorhombic structure presented the best Hg^(0) removal performance,which markedly depends on four factors:crystal structure,oxygen vacancy density,Mn^(4+)/Mn^(3+) ratio and surface element *** Hg^(0) removal mechanism was illustrated based on the mercury temperature programmed desorption experiment and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy *** chemisorption and catalytic oxidation played a role in the Hg^(0) removal *** dominated the Hg^(0) removal,due to the slow catalytic oxidation rate at low *** work preliminarily established the relation between the structure of rare earth manganese perovskite and Hg^(0) removal performance.
