The stability of complex systems is profoundly affected by underlying structures, which are often modeled as networks where nodes indicate system components and edges indicate pairwise interactions between nodes. However, such networks cannot encode the overall complexity of networked systems with higher-order interactions among more than two nodes. Set structures provide a natural description of pairwise and higher-order interactions where nodes are grouped into multiple sets based on their shared traits. Here we derive the stability criteria for networked systems with higher-order interactions by employing set structures. In particular, we provide a simple rule showing that the higher-order interactions play a double-sided role in community stability—networked systems with set structures are stabilized if the expected number of common sets for any two nodes is less than one. Moreover, although previous knowledge suggests that more interactions(i.e. complexity) destabilize networked systems, we report that,with higher-order interactions, networked systems can be stabilized by forming more local sets. Our findings are robust with respect to degree heterogeneous structures, diverse equilibrium states and interaction types.

Autonomous robots have garnered extensive utilization in diverse fields. Among the critical concerns for autonomous systems, path planning holds paramount importance. Notwithstanding considerable efforts in its development over the years, path planning for autonomous systems continues to grapple with challenges related to low planning efficiency and inadequate obstacle avoidance response in a timely *** study proposes a novel and systematic solution to the path planning problem within intricate office buildings. The solution consists of a global planner and a local planner. To handle the global planning aspect, an adaptive clustering-based dynamic programming rapidly exploring random tree(ACDP-RRT) algorithm is proposed. ACDP-RRT effectively identifies obstacles on the map by leveraging geometric *** obstacles are then represented as a collection of sequentially arranged convex polygons, optimizing the sampling region and significantly enhancing sampling efficiency. For local planning, a network decoupling actor-critic(ND-AC) algorithm is employed. The proposed ND-AC simplifies the local planner design process by integrating planning and control loops into a neural network(NN) trained via an end-to-end model-free deep reinforcement learning(DRL) framework. Moreover, the adoption of network decoupling(ND) techniques leads to an improved obstacle avoidance success rate when compared to conventional actor-critic(AC)-based methods. Extensive simulations and experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approach.

Dear Editor,This letter is concerned with stability analysis and stabilization design for sampled-data based load frequency control(LFC) systems via a data-driven method. By describing the dynamic behavior of LFC systems based on a data-based representation, a stability criterion is derived to obtain the admissible maximum sampling interval(MSI) for a given controller and a design condition of the PI-type controller is further developed to meet the required MSI. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed methods is verified by a case study.

This paper focuses on the challenge of fixed-time control for spatiotemporal neural networks(SNNs) with discontinuous activations and time-varying coefficients. A novel fixed-time convergence lemma is proposed, which facilitates the handling of time-varying coefficients of SNNs and relaxes the restriction on the non-positive definiteness of the derivative of the Lyapunov function. Besides, a more flexible and economical aperiodically switching control technique is presented to stabilize SNNs within a fixed time,efectively reducing the amount of information transmission and control costs. Under the newly established fixed-time convergence lemma and aperiodically switching controller, many more general algebraic conditions are deduced to ensure the fixed-time stabilization of SNNs. Numerical examples are provided to manifest the validity of the results.
