Weighted vertex cover(WVC)is one of the most important combinatorial optimization *** this paper,we provide a new game optimization to achieve efficiency and time of solutions for the WVC problem of weighted *** first model the WVC problem as a general game on weighted *** the framework of a game,we newly define several cover states to describe the WVC ***,we reveal the relationship among these cover states of the weighted network and the strict Nash equilibriums(SNEs)of the ***,we propose a game-based asynchronous algorithm(GAA),which can theoretically guarantee that all cover states of vertices converging in an SNE with polynomial ***,we improve the GAA by adding 2-hop and 3-hop adjustment mechanisms,termed the improved game-based asynchronous algorithm(IGAA),in which we prove that it can obtain a better solution to the WVC problem than using a the ***,numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed IGAA can obtain a better approximate solution in promising computation time compared with the existing representative algorithms.

The clinical utility of irinotecan is restricted by individual variability in carboxylesterase *** administration of its active metabolite,7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin(SN38),presents an appealing alternative due to its potent anti-tumor ***,the undesirable properties of SN38,such as poor water solubility and nontarget toxicity,present significant hurdles to its clinical *** nanoassemblies based on modular design strategy show promise in overcoming these challenges by enhancing drug delivery and selective *** modular design,the modification module plays a crucial role in improving the self-assembly capability of *** current studies mainly focus on using straight aliphatic chains for prodrug design,branched aliphatic chains emerge as superior alternatives warranting further *** this study,we selected 2-heptylundecanol(BAlc18)as modification module to construct an SN38 *** exquisite design,SN38-SS-BAlc18 NPs integrated prominent properties in selfassembly capability,specific activation and biocompatibility,resolving the challenges of irinotecan and SN38,ultimately demonstrating excellent anti-tumor *** exploration enriched the design theory of prodrug nanoassemblies that can effectively balance safety and colorectal anti-tumor efficacy.

Municipal solid waste(MSW)is an important destination for abandoned *** the waste disposal process,large plastic debris is broken down into microplastics(MPs)and released into the ***,current research only focuses on landfill leachates,and the occurrence of MPs in other leachates has not been ***,herein,the abundance and characteristics of MPs in three types of leachates,namely,landfill leachate,residual waste leachate,and household food waste leachate,were studied,all leachates were collected from the largest waste disposal center in *** results showed that the average MP abundances in the different types of leachates ranged from(129±54)to(1288±184)MP particles per liter(particlesL1)and the household food waste leachate exhibited the highest MP abundance(p<0.05).Polyethylene(PE)and fragments were the dominant polymer type and shape in MPs,*** characteristic polymer types of MPs in individual leachates were ***,the conditional fragmentation model indicated that the landfilling process considerably affected the size distribution of MPs in leachates,leading to a higher percentage(>80%)of small MPs(20–100 lm)in landfill leachates compared to other *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first study discussing the sources of MPs in different leachates,which is important for MP pollution control during MSW disposal.

This paper investigates the influence of the distance between the ground plane and a coupled meander microstrip line on its characteristics in the frequency and time domains. It is shown that at a distance of 2.5 mm the ground plane has no impact on the characteristics in both domains. The structure with a ground plane has the greatest influence at a distance of 0.5 mm from the line, resulting in a decrease in the average values of | S11| by 1.5 dB and an increase in the average values of | S21| and | S41| by 1 and 3 dB, respectively. Electromagnetic modeling of the investigated structure was carried out in the frequency range from 0 to 20 GHz using COMSOL Multiphysics. N-norms were employed for a more detailed assessment of the time-domain response. The analysis of the N-norms showed that increases in the distance to the ground structure do not affect the N1 values. The structure with a distance to the ground plane of 0.5 mm possesses the maximum N2-5 values. © 2024 IEEE.

A data selection method for matrix effects and uncertainty reduction for laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Severe matrix effects and high signal uncertainty are two key bottlenecks for the quantitative performance and wide applications of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS).Based on the understanding that the superposition of both matrix effects and signal uncertainty directly affects plasma parameters and further influences spectral intensity and LIBS quantification performance,a data selection method based on plasma temperature matching(DSPTM)was proposed to reduce both matrix effects and signal *** selecting spectra with smaller plasma temperature differences for all samples,the proposed method was able to build up the quantification model to rely more on spectra with smaller matrix effects and signal uncertainty,therefore improving final quantification *** applied to quantitative analysis of the zinc content in brass alloys,it was found that both accuracy and precision were improved using either a univariate model or multiple linear regression(MLR).More specifically,for the univariate model,the root-mean-square error of prediction(RMSEP),the determination coefficients(R^(2))and relative standard derivation(RSD)were improved from 3.30%,0.864 and 18.8%to 1.06%,0.986 and 13.5%,respectively;while for MLR,RMSEP,R^(2)and RSD were improved from 3.22%,0.871 and 26.2%to 1.07%,0.986 and 17.4%,*** results prove that DSPTM can be used as an effective method to reduce matrix effects and improve repeatability by selecting reliable data.

To monitor industrial processes properly, soft-sensors are widely used to predict significant but difficult-to-measure quality variables. However, the prediction performances of traditional data-driven soft-sensors are usually unacceptable once suffering from high-nonlinear, high-dimension, and imblance data issues. Therefore, a semisupervised soft-sensor, which is learned by a just-in-time method with structure entropy clustering (SS-JITL-SEC), is proposed aiming to improve prediction performance with a simpler way. Inspired by a divide and conquer strategy, a novel SEC method is proposed to achieve several clusters and then to translate the highly complex and nonlinear modeling problems into simple and linear ones. Moreover, the training dataset is extended through a mixed SS labeling approach. Finally, dissimilarity-based JITL works together with the resulting clustering subdatasets to formulate a local adaptive prediction model. Two datasets from different types of wastewater treatment plants are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed soft-sensor. The results show that the SS-JITL-SEC soft-sensor can achieve better prediction performance than other standard counterparts, and even for effective process monitoring with the resulted residuals. © 2020 IEEE.

This article investigates the distributed predefined-time (PT) fault-tolerant control for nonlinear multiagent systems (NNMSs) with nonaffine faults. A novel distributed PT control scheme is proposed based on a new PT theorem. The switching functions are introduced into distributed control signals to avoid the singularity problem. The second-order filter technology is designed to solve "explosion of complexity" issues. The newly designed PT compensation signals are utilized to eliminate filter errors. The proposed distributed PT controller based on local information can guarantee that all signals of the closed-loop system are PT bounded, and consensus errors of NNMSs can be enforced to a small region around the origin within a predefined time. Compared with the finite/fixed time, the predefined time is an exact value given in advance, which remains constant regardless of initial states and control parameters. Finally, two comparative simulations are provided to demonstrate the presented strategy. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper proposes a New Modulation Hysteresis control block for a three phase four wire Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) for currents harmonics compensation generated by Compact Fluorescents Lamps (CFLs). This study employs the PQ power control strategy. The performance of the SAPF is evaluated under both simple hysteresis controller and under the new modulation hysteresis controller conditions using the Matlab/Simulink platform. The findings simulation results demonstrate that the proposed new technique can improve the power quality of the main, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) optimization, which also confirms the effectiveness of the approach. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

A quantitative relationship between safety issues and dendritic lithium(Li) has been rarely investigated yet. Herein the thermal stability of Li deposits with distinct surface area against non-aqueous electrolyte in pouch-type Li metal batteries is probed. The thermal runaway temperatures of Li metal batteries obtained by accelerating rate calorimeter are reduced from 211 ℃ for Li foil to 111 ℃ for cycled *** initial exothermic temperature is reduced from 194 ℃ for routine Li foil to 142 ℃ for 49.5 m~2g^(-1) dendrite. Li with different specific surface areas can regulate the reaction routes during the temperature range from 50 to 300 ℃. The mass percent of Li foil and highly dendritic Li reacting with ethylene carbonate is higher than that of moderately dendritic Li. This contribution can strengthen the understanding of the thermal runaway mechanism and shed fresh light on the rational design of safe Li metal batteries.
