Solar-driven carbon dioxide(CO_(2))conversion including photocatalytic(PC),photoelectrochemical(PEC),photovoltaic plus electrochemical(PV/EC)systems,offers a renewable and scalable way to produce fuels and high-value chemicals for environment and energy *** review summarizes the basic fundament and the recent advances in the field of solar-driven CO_(2)*** the visible-light absorption is an important strategy to improve solar energy conversion *** separation and migration of photogenerated charges carriers to surface sites and the surface catalytic processes also determine the photocatalytic *** engineering including co-catalyst loading,defect engineering,morphology control,surface modification,surface phase junction,and Z-scheme photocatalytic system construction,have become fundamental strategies to obtain high-efficiency *** to photocatalysis,these strategies have been applied to improve the conversion efficiency and Faradaic efficiency of typical PEC *** PV/EC systems,the electrode surface structure and morphology,electrolyte effects,and mass transport conditions affect the activity and selectivity of electrochemical CO_(2)***,the challenges and prospects are addressed for the development of solar-driven CO_(2)conversion system with high energy conversion efficiency,high product selectivity and stability.

A Novel Thermal Analysis Method for Tubular PM Linear Motors Based on Transfer Learning

Thermal modeling and analysis are critical for permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSMs), particularly in multiphysical analysis and motor design optimization. This article proposes a new method for thermal steady state modeling and analysis based on transfer learning (TL), which combines the thermal mechanism model with the data-driven model to achieve high-precision temperature analysis with small number of finite element analysis (FEA) samples. First, an equivalent thermal circuit (ETC) model is established for PMLSMs based on the structural parameters and heat transfer principles. Second, a hybrid model based on TL is developed: the model is pretrained by a large sample set generated from the ETC in the source field (mechanism analytical model), and then, the trained model is transferred to the target field (FEA data-driven model). The parameters of the neural network in the target field are optimized by a few FEA sample sets with higher precision to improve the prediction accuracy of the target model. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly boosts the performance of the deep neural network (DNN) model, particularly when training sets are small. The root mean square error (RMSE) of the DNN model decreases by 0.901 in the 5:5 (training/testing) dataset and 1.726 in the 2:8 dataset;and the corresponding R^{2} and maximal absolute error of motor performances are significantly decreased. The smaller the proportion of the training set, the better performance of the hybrid modeling will achieve. Furthermore, a temperature rise experiment conducted on a prototype motor validates the efficacy and precision of the proposed hybrid modeling methodology. © 2015 IEEE.

With the increase in the number of vehicles in our country, traffic accidents have become frequent. The real-time detection of dense traffic vehicles is particularly important, which can promote the development of autonomous driving and lay a good foundation for intelligent transportation. Aiming at the problems such as high vehicle overlap rate, high small target missing rate and poor real-time detection in traffic vehicle data set, a traffic vehicle target detection method based on improved YOLOv7 was proposed. Firstly, the neck network structure of the original YOLOv7 is lightweight and introduced into the GhostSlimPAN paradigm structure to reduce the number of model parameters and operation cost, and improve the accuracy of detection of small target vehicles. Then, the original loss function CIoU is improved to replusion loss function to reduce the missed and false detection rate caused by mutual occlusion between vehicles. In order to verify the effect of the improved model, the vehicle dataset was selected for testing and verification. The experimental results show that compared with the original YOLOv7 algorithm, the mAP@0.5 of the improved YOLOv7 algorithm on this dataset reaches 88.2%, which is 1.8% higher than that of the benchmark network. The improved algorithm can be applied to vehicle target detection in daily environment, providing key technical support for intelligent transportation and autonomous driving. © 2024 ACM.

This paper focuses on a navigation of a Dubins vehicle (DV) to intercept a moving target on a sphere. The uncertainty in the target motion is described by a Brownian motion model. An Itô-type stochastic differential equation for the relative motion between DV and the Brownian moving target is derived. This stochastic differential equation is used to formulate an intercept controller as a minimum time optimal controller. The properties of the controller are incorporated into the numerical computations of the controller, which by its construction can intercept a Brownian target. Our numerical simulation results show that the computed controller can intercept both stationary and moving targets on the sphere. © 2024 IEEE.

This work formulates the feedback control strategies for vehicles to reach a goal point amongst a field of dynamic risk regions. Whereas previous work has considered deterministic versions of this problem, we consider the scenario in the context of uncertainty. This uncertainty could be due to unknown wind or other external disturbances. The risk regions’ dynamics are tightly coupled to the state of the vehicle and as a result the task of navigating through a field dynamically changes as the vehicle traverses through it. Rather than using a nonlinear program solver, the approach taken here is one of formulating the problem as a stochastic optimal control problem wherein a feedback control law is derived. This feedback control law allows a single or multiple vehicles to reach the desired goal location efficiently and with minimal risk incursion. When inside a risk region, there is a probability rate of the vehicle being neutralized. The stochastic dynamical system is modeled as a hybrid system, i.e., regime switching diffusion. The hybrid system is comprised of continuous spatial dynamics and discrete operational states corresponding to "normal" and "neutralized". The optimal control problem is discretized into a field of vehicle states and control. Using Value Iteration, the control signal at each discrete location is optimized, providing a feedback control strategy over the field. Pushing artificial intelligence(AI) from central cloud to network edge has reached board consensus in both industry and academia for materializing the vision of artificial intelligence of things(AIoT) in the sixth-generation(6G) era. This gives rise to an emerging research area known as edge intelligence, which concerns the distillation of human-like intelligence from the vast amount of data scattered at the wireless network edge. Typically, realizing edge intelligence corresponds to the processes of sensing, communication,and computation, which are coupled ingredients for data generation, exchanging, and processing, ***, conventional wireless networks design the three mentioned ingredients separately in a task-agnostic manner, which leads to difficulties in accommodating the stringent demands of ultra-low latency, ultra-high reliability, and high capacity in emerging AI applications like auto-driving and metaverse. This thus prompts a new design paradigm of seamlessly integrated sensing, communication, and computation(ISCC) in a taskoriented manner, which comprehensively accounts for the use of the data in downstream AI tasks. In view of its growing interest, this study provides a timely overview of ISCC for edge intelligence by introducing its basic concept, design challenges, and enabling techniques, surveying the state-of-the-art advancements, and shedding light on the road ahead.

In Software-Defined Networks(SDNs),determining how to efficiently achieve Quality of Service(QoS)-aware routing is challenging but critical for significantly improving the performance of a network,where the metrics of QoS can be defined as,for example,average latency,packet loss ratio,and *** SDN controller can use network statistics and a Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL)method to resolve this *** this paper,we formulate dynamic routing in an SDN as a Markov decision process and propose a DRL algorithm called the Asynchronous Advantage Actor-Critic QoS-aware Routing Optimization Mechanism(AQROM)to determine routing strategies that balance the traffic loads in the *** can improve the QoS of the network and reduce the training time via dynamic routing strategy updates;that is,the reward function can be dynamically and promptly altered based on the optimization objective regardless of the network topology and traffic *** can be considered as one-step optimization and a black-box routing mechanism in high-dimensional input and output sets for both discrete and continuous states,and actions with respect to the operations in the *** simulations were conducted using OMNeT++and the results demonstrated that AQROM 1)achieved much faster and stable convergence than the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient(DDPG)and Advantage Actor-Critic(A2C),2)incurred a lower packet loss ratio and latency than Open Shortest Path First(OSPF),DDPG,and A2C,and 3)resulted in higher and more stable throughput than OSPF,DDPG,and A2C.

Owing to the invisibility characteristics of the interiors of concrete structures, nondestructive testing technologies are commonly employed to detect internal damage. Electromagnetic flaw detection technology, as a prominent nondestructive testing method, offers capabilities of strong penetration and precise imaging. However, the output images produced by this detection technology are usually reliant on subjective human judgment, and existing automatic detection algorithms have limitations in terms of accuracy. To enhance the accuracy of electromagnetic flaw detection images, this paper proposes improved YOLOv7 based detection method. First of all, the ACBlock convolution module is introduced to replace the original 3×3 convolution kernel for alleviating the loss of edge feature information caused by the sampling operation of the backbone network MP module. Next, in order to have more focus on the semantic features of small targets, a global attention mechanism (GAMAttention) is incorporated into the algorithm. Then, the FReLU activation function is adopted to enhance the algorithm sensitivity to image space. Finally, experiments are conducted on a self-created concrete flaw detection image dataset to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm. The results show that the mean Average Precision (mAP) value achieved by the improved algorithm is 95.85%. which has a significant improvement of 13.89% in comparison with the pre-improved YOLOv7 algorithm and surpasses other algorithms in the same domain. These findings represent that the proposed algorithm effectively enhances the accuracy of concrete electromagnetic flaw detection image detection. © 2024 ACM.

The rising demand for reliable, high-bandwidth satellite communications in far-reach areas drives the integration of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites into future 6G networks. In this paper, we investigate the deployment of reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) technology and rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) within LEO satellite systems to improve communication quality and system capacity. We derive closed-form expressions for outage probability (OP) and reliable throughput that validate the theoretical advantages of these technologies under various signal-to-noise ratio conditions. Numerical results demonstrate that, compared with traditional space division multiple access (SDMA) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) approaches, our RSMA and RIS-integrated framework significantly can reduce OP and enhance reliable throughput with an appropriate power-splitting factor, showcasing its superiority in RIS-enabled satellite communication scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.
