We demonstrate Fourier synthesis of RN-like multiple coherent anti-Stokes Raman-scattering signals in a KTaO 3 single crystal at room temperature. Isolated pulses with 13-fs duration and 520-690-nm wavelength range are generated without any active chirp compensator.

A multi-modal sensor, with which was possible to simultaneously measure pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature, was fabricated. The pH sensor, EC sensor, and temperature sensor were integrated using compatible complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) logic technology on a small Si chip (area, 25 mm 2 ). Simultaneous measurements of pH, EC and temperature were demonstrated, and the sensor was used successfully to measure three different kinds of signal from the sensors with a pH 4.01 buffering solution. In another measurement, the sensor was possible to be inserted in soil, and used to successfully measure EC in real time for 6 days.

In this report, the effect on the separation efficiency of the density of square micropillars in semi-packed gas chromatography columns are investigated. Two columns with the same pillar arrangement but different pillar density were experimentally characterized and simulated. The experimental results show that the high pillar density column is 1.2 times superior to the low pillar density column with respect to the separation efficiency. Good consistency between simulated and observed band broadening of the peaks was found.
