Breaking barrier of binding buffer in colorimetric aptasensing of tetracycline in food fish using peroxidase mimic gold NanoZyme

Tetracycline is extensively used in aquaculture as a therapeutic agent that needs to be monitored due to food safety concerns. Aptasensing has been revealed as a suitable diagnostic platform for tetracycline sensing in food matrix due to its quick, low cost and robust nature. But, the colorimetric aptasensing of tetracycline employing the peroxidase activity of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to 3,3,5,5-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) was unsuitable until now owing to the aptamer-specific alkaline binding buffer. The present study developed a method with an optimized reaction protocol diminishing the inhibitory effect of binding buffer on the sensor probe (AuNPs-aptamer + TMB + H₂O₂). The overall peroxidase activity of the sensor probe was only inhibited by tetracycline through selective adsorption on the AuNPs-aptamer complex. The peroxidase inhibition percentage in the test range of 0.01 to 0.5 mg L^-1 tetracycline gave a logarithmic response (R², 0.99) with a detection limit of 0.017 mg L^-1 which is less than the prescribed limit (0.1 mg L^-1) set by EU and FSSAI. The developed sensing system in fish muscle showed high recovery (111–115 %) with great potential for rapid detection of tetracycline in fish muscle. © 2025 Elsevier Inc.

Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) supply power in the event of a failure, which is critical for stationary applications. Engineers, on the other hand, face challenges in sustaining peak efficiency batteries because maintenance must be done on a frequent basis. The most common solution is Battery Monitoring Systems (BMS), which are primarily designed for industrial applications and may make it difficult to efficiently interpret battery data patterns without regular monitoring. Furthermore, battery technology will be evaluated, accelerating the evolution of the BMS from a simple monitoring unit to a multi-functional integrated one. To address these challenges, the goal of this paper is to design a robust Battery Monitoring System that uses the Internet of Things (IoT) to make it smart and provide continuous service. This work contains IoT-enabled hardware that monitors current, voltage, temperature, state of charge, internal resistance, and remaining runtime of the battery. The performance of the proposed solution is rigorously verified in a real-time testbed installed at the office. In addition, this work includes a web application that allows customers to easily configure parameters and assures efficient battery monitoring. The results demonstrate precise measurement and functional state of the battery in a timely manner. The proposed method can be readily integrated into any existing industrial or commercial system to improve operational efficiency.

Arsenic poses a serious health risk to humans. Hence, a simple and robust analytical approach for monitoring arsenic levels in water and food matrixes is required. We present a simple and rapid approach for quantifying arsenate in water and fish using feroxyhyte (FeOOH) nanoparticles as a sensor probe. The FeOOH nanoparticles showed peroxidase mimetic activity oxidizing 3,5,3′5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) to a blue product (oxTMB, λmax 650 nm) in the presence of H2O2. However, arsenate's presence inhibits the peroxidase activity of FeOOH nanoparticles through binding on the catalytic active sites. Based on this principle, the presently developed method obtained a good linear response (R2, 0.99) over the range of 0.005 to 5.000 mg L−1 arsenate with 0.006 mg L−1 as the detection limit which is less than the prescribed limit (0.010 mg L−1) by WHO for drinking water. The average recoveries at different fortification levels ranged from 89.51 to 115.61 % in water and 101.11 to 106.99 % in fish muscle. The present analytical technique showed good selectivity due to pronounced peroxidase inhibition alibility (60.53–103.78 %) by arsenate than other non-target ions like PO43−, NO3−, Cr2O72−, etc. The FeOOH nanoparticles showed a promising application prospect for colorimetric detection of arsenate with a wide detection range in water and fish samples. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

The realization of certain computational problems using quantum mechanics opened up interesting new possibilities which may be better and beyond the scope of classical supercomputers. Simulation of quantum circuits on classical computers is necessary to analyze the properties of superposition and entanglement. Here, we used the SDKs of optimized libraries and tools of cuQuantum for accelerating quantum computing workflows on FP64 and TF32 based accelerated system for performance analysis. In this paper, the performance of quantum algorithms (Shor's algorithm, Quantum Fourier Transformation, and Sycamore circuit), implemented by the CIRQ simulator, is analyzed on the PARAM HPC-AI system. Execution time and relative speed up for CPU only and accelerators having multiple precision capability enabled run is discussed in detail on PARAM Siddhi-AI system. The graphs are plotted to give a real-Time analysis of the quantum circuit algorithms with the increase in the number of qubits. For Shor's algorithm, Quantum Fourier Transformation, and Sycamore circuit, the maximum speed up, between CPU only and GPU enabled run, is observed as 143x, 115x, and 104x for 30, 32, and 32 qubits respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

Climate change directly affects public health as it significantly influences the emergence and spread of epidemics. Factors such as temperature, precipitation majorly impact and promote the growth of prevalent diseases transmitted by vectors and water-borne diseases as seen from historical and contemporary evidence. We will see in this research work the correlation of various diseases like dengue, cholera, acute diarrheal disease and malaria with temperature for example dengue and malaria have a good correlation with temperature and cholera on the other hand usually outbreaks with anomalies with precipitation showing a good correlation with the precipitation factor. Collection of high quality data has become a must to be able to foster the growth of climate health models in understanding and predicting disease outbreaks due to climate variability. Innovative developments in weather and climate science, especially through AI-enabled numerical weather prediction, AI-NWP, boost confidence in forecasting key variables such as temperature and precipitation. However, a major obstacle to the integration of climate models with health prediction systems lies in the inaccessibility of comprehensive, publicly accessible health datasets for various diseases. Such data sets, especially on granular spatial and temporal scales, are crucial to advance climate health research and model development. In this paper we present the first weekly district-wise dataset for major epidemics spanning across India from 2009 to 2022. The data utilized in this study has been sourced from the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme(IDSP),a publically available database maintained by the Government of India. This dataset, named "EpiClim: India’s Epidemic-Climate Dataset", bridges the gap by providing detailed insights into health data tailored for climate-health modeling. Consumer Electronic Devices have become an open network model because of the infusion of the Internet of Things (IoT) and other communication technologies such as 5G/6G. Though these devices have provided the high-end sophistication even to common person, but it has proved its darker side by triggering more security breaches and privacy problems. Hence, securing and authenticating these Internet enabled consumer devices has become a probable issue to be solved for safer and secured communication. Therefore, this paper presents a novel fusion of Web 3.0-based Blockchain (WBC) and Deep learning (DL) technique for securing consumer electronic devices in an IoT ecosystem. The proposed framework k(MTD-BCAM) is devised into two components: Multiple-Threat Detection(MTD) and Access Management Mechanism(AMM). In the first component, a DL model is applied for threat detection, whereas WBC is meant for an efficient authentication process. Furthermore, a novel residual fast-gated recurrent neural network is proposed. To reduce the complexity, the komodo Mlipir optimization (KMO) approach is used to tune the hyper-parameters of the network. The comprehensive experimental outcome study of the proposed approach employs NSL-KDD datasets in which the distinct metrics of both DL and Blockchain (BC) are measured and analyzed. Results demonstrated the superior accuracy of the model by achieving 99.78% with less computational time and higher transaction speed. Additionally, the statistical validation and security strength of the model are also analyzed and examined with the varied state-of-art models. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.

Background: Public health is seriously threatened by transmission of zoonotic infection through the food chain. Factors like increasing population, deforestation, high demand for animal protein, and trade of sub-clinically infected animals are the main causes of the spread of infections from asymptomatic animals to humans. Despite several national programs like Swatch Bharat Abhiyan (The Clean India Mission), prevention of open defecation and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), the incidence of diarrhoeal diseases remains high in India. There is an urgent need to understand the route of the spread of zoonotic infections so that related preventive action can be taken to protect the health of the people. Objective: The purpose of this review is to overview the current threats of zoonotic food-borne infections to humans, challenges, and propose possible solutions to improve the public health system. Methods: Published literatures on ‘foodborne and zoonotic infections’, ‘foodborne outbreak’, ‘zoonotic pathogens’, ‘food animals’, ‘AMR’, and ‘one health’ were reviewed in depth. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis (SWOT) was used to assess the problem's depth and find possible solutions. Result: SWOT analysis showed that different national and international programs supporting One Health initiative are the strengths, whereas poor awareness related to animal health issues, insufficient number of veterinary hospitals and excellence centers for diagnosis, and research are the weaknesses. International and National funding opportunities, and policy support for one health initiative remains a long-term vision. The other factors such as cross-boundary food animal trades, a huge number of undiagnosed cases of sub-clinically infected food animals and unreported outbreaks are the potential threats that need timely action through well-designed surveillance and monitoring. Prospecting for oil and gas resources poses the problem of determining the geological structure of the earth's crust from indirect measurements. Seismic migration is an acoustic image reconstruction technique based on the inversion of the scalar wave equation. Extensive computation is necessary before reliable information can be extracted from large sets of recorded data. In this paper a collection of ''industrial'' migration techniques, each giving rise to a data parallel algorithm, is outlined. Computer simulations on synthetic seismic data illustrate the problem and the approach.

The Pessimistic commit protocol specifies set of rules which guarantee that every single transaction in a mobile database environment is executed to its completion or none of its operations are performed. To show the effectiveness of pessimistic commit protocols, a generic simulator is designed and implemented to demonstrate how the transactions are committed and how the data consistency is maintained when the transactions are executed concurrently. Further the constraints imposed by mobile database environments like mobility, blocking of data items etc. are effectively handled. The simulator is tested for efficiency for all timeout based strategies proposed in the literature. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
