Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurobiological developmental disorder that affects communication and social interaction. Autistic children often have difficulty communicating effectively, both verbally and nonverbally. Good verbal and nonverbal communication skills help children with autism participate in social interactions. In this paper, we present a systematic literature review focused on analyzing AR/VR/Mixed reality technologies used to improve communication skills in children with ASD based on research published over the last ten years and available in relevant scientific databases. We reviewed 22 studies showing target area communication, how AR/VR/Mixed reality is used in the context of communication skills in ASD children, user experience and accessibility, technology limitations, and findings. This systematic review of the literature shows that the majority of the communication areas targeted are verbal and nonverbal simultaneously. Overall, the use of AR/VR/Mixed reality can be an alternative to improve children’s communication. Technologies that can facilitate the different abilities and emotions of children with ASD are considered in developing AR/VR/Mixed reality in the future. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The differences of each student become a challenge for educators in delivering learning materials. More often than not, students often find it difficult to process study materials. Conventional study-based learning may not always have a profound impact on students. Consideration of interactive multimedia as a tool for student-centered learning has not been widely discussed in scientific research. In this paper, the authors investigate interactive multimedia using Kolb’s experiential learning model in improving students’ cognitive abilities. This study uses a pre-experimental method and one-group pre-and post-test design type with the research population in class XI RPL and a sample of SMK students in Bandung. The results show that the application of interactive multimedia using Kolb’s experiential learning model is effective in improving students’ cognitive abilities. On the other hand, it is found that combining abstract learning materials with interactive visuals and activities that involve students’ participation could create exceptionally positive feedback from students. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The aim of this research is to get the depiction of the ability of science teachers in planning and carrying out 4C (critical, creative, collaborative and communication) skills-oriented science teaching. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The subjects of the research were 12 science teachers (7 female and 5 male) from several junior high schools in West Bandung district of West Java province. The instrument used for data collection is the teaching plan assessment rubric and the assessment rubric of real teaching that was adapted from the assessment rubric used for the performance test of the teacher profession program. Data analysis was carried out by reviewing; gender, teaching experience and teacher education background. The results showed that: 1) most of science teachers who were the subjects of the research had low ability to plan and implement of 4C skills-oriented science teaching, 2) there was no gender bias, no teaching experience bias and no teacher's educational background bias in the ability to planing and carrying out of 4C-oriented science teaching. The low ability of the science teachers indicates the need to increase teacher competency through relevant training programs.

The current research has two aims. First, to demonstrate the utility conditional nonparametric multilevel latent class analysis (NP-MLCA) for multi-site program evaluation using an empirical dataset. Second, to investigate how classification accuracy and parameter estimation of a conditional NP-MLCA are affected by six study factors: the quality of latent class indicators, the number of latent class indicators, level-1 covariate effects, cross-level covariate effects, the number of level-2 units, and the size of level-2 units. A total of 96 conditions was examined using a simulation study. The resulting classification accuracy rates, the power and type-I error of cross-level covariate effects and contextual effects suggest that the nonparametric multilevel latent class model can be applied broadly in multilevel contexts. Kehoe has been a member of ASNE since 1974 and has authored two technical papers on U.S. and Soviet ship design practices which were published in theU.S. Naval Institute Proceedingsand theNaval Engineers Journal. Cdr. Clark Graham USNbetter known as “Corky.” graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1964 and subsequently received his Ph. D. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1969. Currently. he is assigned to the Naval Sea Systems Command as the DDGX Ship Design Manager. Previous to this assignment. he was the NAVSEA Cruiser Project Manager Representative and SUPSHIP Newport News Project Officer for Nuclear Cruisers. This paper is a report of a comparative naval architecture analysis of United States, Canadian, French, Netherlands, German, British, and Soviet Frigates. The investigation covered general arrangements, weapons and sensors, survivability, intact and damaged stability, manning and personnel support (all of which me discussed in PART I), and hull form, propulsion, speed range, sea keeping, ship size, and future growth capability (to be published in PART II). Weapons and sensors were only addressed in terms of their impact on the weight and volume of the ship. The actual military effectiveness of each Frigate was not assessed.

The research aimed to provide an overview of the integration of sustainable development education into thematic learning in elementary schools. This study used an Explanatory Sequential Mixed Method Design. Data were collected through a survey of 279 elementary school teachers in West Java and followed by a focus group discussion involving experts and teachers. The survey data collection uses a questionnaire in the form of a perception scale uploaded in the Google Form and open-ended questions. The questionnaire was used to collect information about teachers' choice of integration of sustainable development education into thematic learning. Open-ended questions were used to collect the information on integration of sustainable development education into thematic learning detail by Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The survey is analyzed statistically using descriptive statistic and one-way ANOVA in SPSS. The data collected from the FGD were analyzed qualitatively through of data triangulation. The research results: (1) ESD can be integrated into elementary school thematic learning; (2) There are 11 essential themes of ESD such as biodiversity, climate change, disaster risk reduction, cultural diversity, poverty reduction, gender quality, health promotion, sustainable lifestyle, sustainable lifestyles, prevention of water crises and sustainable urbanization and each of their elaborations into thematic learning in elementary schools; (3) There are 9 topics of thematic learning considered relevant for infusing the themes. The research concludes that it is necessary to develop of ESD-oriented thematic learning designs, develop of ESD-oriented thematic teaching materials, and ESD-oriented evaluations to develop ESD competencies such as sustainability consciousness.

Brace: USN reported for active duty in the U.S. Naval Reserve in June 1945 and upon his release from active duty in 1948 entered Chaffey Junior College Ontario Calif. from which he received his Associate Degree in Engineering in June 1949. Subsequently he attended Purdue University from which he received his BS degree in Chemical Engineering in 1951 and while on a Westinghouse Research Fellowship his MS degree in Engineering in 1952. He joined Phillips Petroleum Co. in Oklahoma as a research engineer with the Jet Fuel Research Group upon receiving the latter degree and while so serving obtained 12 patents. In January 1955 he was recalled to active duty and reported to Officers Candidate School. Newport R.I. Upon being commissioned in the U.S. Naval Reserve in May of that year he began his flight training at the Naval Air Training Command ultimately being designated a Naval Aviator and augumented into the regular Navy in 1956. He served with four carrier-based attack squadrons including three combat tours and in 1962 completed a duty assignment with the U.S. Army in South Vietnam. Other assignments include Catapult and Arresting Gear Officer USS Enterprise (CVN-65) duty on the Staff. Commander Naval Air Force. U.S. Atlantic Fleet: Assistant Chief of Staff for Material Task Force 78 during the mine countermeasure operations in North Vietnam Officer-in-Charge. Fleet Air Western Pacific Repair Activity Cubi Point P.I.: and Head. Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipments Branch Ship Installations Division. Naval Air Systems Command from 1974 to 1976 during which he had full responsibility for all shore-based and shipboard aircraft launching and recovery systems and was Acquisition Manager for the SERD Catapult Program. Capt.
