Dengue shock syndrome (DSS) is an infectious disease that affects millions of people every year all over the world. Early detection of DSS is essential for providing effective therapy and promoting patient recovery. In this work, we proposed a method to enhance DSS detection by combining the Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) algorithm with variance (ANOVA) feature selection analysis. We used a clinical dataset that contained important information gleaned from people with dengue virus infection. The dataset used for the research was collected from patients at Syaiful Anwar Hospital and consisted of 501 instances. Of these, 401 cases were related to DSS, while the other instances were unrelated to this specific medical condition. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) evaluated the most significant factors that distinguished persons with DSS from those with other dengue diseases. After that, the XGBoost model gave the characteristics of the selected features. For evaluation, we split the data into 80% and 20% for training and testing, respectively. The experimental result showed that the created model had a high degree of performance evaluation in detecting DSS. The highest performance achieved an accuracy of 0.839, precision of 0.875, recall of 0.92, and f1-score of 0.897. Most importantly, the model could detect DSS early on, enabling more proactive therapy and faster responses for individuals at risk of developing the condition. © (2024), (Bio Tech System). The network switches in the data plane of Software Defined Networking (SDN) are empowered by an elementary process, in which enormous number of packets which resemble big volumes of data are classified into specific flows by matching them against a set of dynamic rules. This basic process accelerates the processing of data, so that instead of processing singular packets repeatedly, corresponding actions are performed on corresponding flows of packets. In this paper, first, we address limitations on a typical packet classification algorithm like Tuple Space Search (TSS). Then, we present a set of different scenarios to parallelize it on different parallel processing platforms, including Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), clusters of Central Processing Units (CPUs), and hybrid clusters. Experimental results show that the hybrid cluster provides the best platform for parallelizing packet classification algorithms, which promises the average throughput rate of 4.2 Million packets per second (Mpps). That is, the hybrid cluster produced by the integration of Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA), Message Passing Interface (MPI), and OpenMP programming model could classify 0.24 million packets per second more than the GPU cluster scheme. Such a packet classifier satisfies the required processing speed in the programmable network systems that would be used to communicate big medical data.

Software project outcomes heavily depend on natural language requirements,often causing diverse interpretations and issues like ambiguities and incomplete or faulty *** are exploring machine learning to predict software bugs,but a more precise and general approach is *** bug prediction is crucial for software evolution and user training,prompting an investigation into deep and ensemble learning ***,these studies are not generalized and efficient when extended to other ***,this paper proposed a hybrid approach combining multiple techniques to explore their effectiveness on bug identification *** methods involved feature selection,which is used to reduce the dimensionality and redundancy of features and select only the relevant ones;transfer learning is used to train and test the model on different datasets to analyze how much of the learning is passed to other datasets,and ensemble method is utilized to explore the increase in performance upon combining multiple classifiers in a *** National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA)and four Promise datasets are used in the study,showing an increase in the model’s performance by providing better Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve(AUC-ROC)values when different classifiers were *** reveals that using an amalgam of techniques such as those used in this study,feature selection,transfer learning,and ensemble methods prove helpful in optimizing the software bug prediction models and providing high-performing,useful end mode.

Deregulation of electricity markets has ushered in a new era of heightened competition, allowing for the inclusion of fresh market entrants. However, market participation bears challenges related the extremely high volatility of prices that are affected by too many interrelated factors, such as weather conditions, production, consumption, renewable production, fuel prices, unexpected socio-political and health events, etc. Therefore, the electricity market shows unexpected changes that can lead to very high (extremely high) or very low levels (negative) prices, exposing the participants to high financial risks. Given the stochastic nature of electricity energy prices, this work employs the Extreme Learning Machine in conjunction with the Bootstrap method for forecasting electricity prices for the next day. Two distinct cases are examined. In the first case, the prediction model is trained only with historical market price data, while in the second one with forecast data. The reason this is done is to see which data gives better forecasts. The methodology was applied to German and Finnish market data, 2019-2022. © 2023 IEEE.

Software maintenance is the process of fixing,modifying,and improving software deliverables after they are delivered to the *** can benefit from offshore software maintenance outsourcing(OSMO)in different ways,including time savings,cost savings,and improving the software quality and *** of the hardest challenges for the OSMO vendor is to choose a suitable project among several clients’*** goal of the current study is to recommend a machine learning-based decision support system that OSMO vendors can utilize to forecast or assess the project of OSMO *** projects belong to OSMO vendors,having offices in developing countries while providing services to developed *** the current study,Extreme Learning Machine’s(ELM’s)variant called Deep Extreme Learning Machines(DELMs)is used.A novel dataset consisting of 195 projects data is proposed to train the model and to evaluate the overall efficiency of the proposed *** proposed DELM’s based model evaluations achieved 90.017%training accuracy having a value with 1.412×10^(-3) Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and 85.772%testing accuracy with 1.569×10^(-3) RMSE with five DELMs hidden *** results express that the suggested model has gained a notable recognition rate in comparison to any previous *** current study also concludes DELMs as the most applicable and useful technique for OSMO client’s project assessment.

Lightweight image super-resolution reconstruction based on mixed attention and global inductive bias network

Convolutional neural network has significantly advanced the field of image super-resolution reconstruction in recent years. The insufficient ability to model global information of hierarchical features, incomplete attention to information, and excessive parameters make some based on convolutional methods face challenges. To address these issues, this paper designs the lightweight image super-resolution reconstruction based on Mixed Attention and Global Inductive bias Network(MAGIN), which directly captures the global information of phased features from the horizontal and vertical directions respectively to produce global inductive bias information. Furthermore, the global spatial attention block is proposed, which can realize the perception of global feature space without redundant operation. To realize more comprehensive attention for features, a mixed attention block arises, which enables the network to attend to features across different dimensions: channel, spatial, and pixel levels. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the MAGIN delivers more satisfactory results than some other advanced lightweight reconstruction algorithms on several standard test datasets under the condition of considering the network’s performance, parameter and computational complexity. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Modeling Hybrid Feature-Based Phishing Websites Detection Using Machine Learning Techniques

In this paper, we mainly present a machine learning based approach to detect real-time phishing websites by taking into account URL and hyperlink based hybrid features to achieve high accuracy without relying on any third-party systems. In phishing, the attackers typically try to deceive internet users by masking a webpage as an official genuine webpage to steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, social security numbers, credit card information, etc. Anti-phishing solutions like blacklist or whitelist, heuristic, and visual similarity based methods cannot detect zero-hour phishing attacks or brand-new websites. Moreover, earlier approaches are complex and unsuitable for real-time environments due to the dependency on third-party sources, such as a search engine. Hence, detecting recently developed phishing websites in a real-time environment is a great challenge in the domain of cybersecurity. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes a hybrid feature based anti-phishing strategy that extracts features from URL and hyperlink information of client-side only. We also develop a new dataset for the purpose of conducting experiments using popular machine learning classification techniques. Our experimental result shows that the proposed phishing detection approach is more effective having higher detection accuracy of 99.17% with the XG Boost technique than traditional approaches. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2022.

Safety/mission-critical applications require high dependability of the control systems. Their state-of-the-art protection approach is a system-level lockstep. This paper compares the system-level dual and triple lockstep technique to the microarchitecture-level protection of the Hardisc RISC-V core. For a fair comparison, each system is based on the same core(s) and integrates protection against bit-flips in memory and transient faults in the bus. We propose a fault injection methodology, combining pre-synthesis simulation with synthesis data to analyse the vulnerability of a system to faults. The fault injection campaigns show that the Hardisc can withstand fault rates orders of magnitude higher than the dual-core lockstep system while preserving the same area and power consumption. It comes with a 5% frequency penalty. We have shown that system failures are more frequent once the fault rate reaches an application-specific threshold (one fault in 100 clock cycles). © 2024 IEEE.
