The gradual decommissioning of fossil fuel-driven power plants, that traditionally provide most operational flexibility in power systems, has led to more frequent grid stability issues. To compensate for the lack of flexible resources, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) in distribution networks can be employed. To facilitate the use of DERs, the aggregated flexibility in a distribution grid is commonly represented on a PQ-plane displaying the feasible active and reactive power exchange with the upstream grid. This paper proposes a fast feasible operating region mapping mechanism that utilizes a linear power flow approximation in combination with linearized generator, current, and voltage constraints to construct a high-dimensional polyhedral feasible set of DER power injections. The obtained polytope is projected onto the PQ-plane using Fourier-Motzkin Elimination to represent the aggregate network flexibility. Additionally, uncertainty in DER generation is addressed using chance-constraints. Our analysis of a modified 33-bus IEEE test system demonstrates that the proposed method obtains more accurate approximations than former geometric methods and is ten times faster than the tested optimization-based method. © 2022 IEEE.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an essential visualizing tool in the diagnosis and monitoring of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) disease. However, the neurological examinations and the MRI assessments are insufficient to provide personalized treatment to the patients due to the complexity of the disease. This study implemented an explainable artificial intelligence (AI) model with embedded rules to assess MS disease evolution. Clinical data were used including demographic and neurological measurements. Texture features were extracted from manually delineated and normalized brain MRI lesions. Statistical analysis was employed to select the statistically significant texture features and clinical data. Different models using machine learning algorithms were implemented to differentiate the subjects diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) from the subjects with progressive MS (PMS). Argumentation-based reasoning was performed by modifying the rules extracted from models with the best evaluation results. The findings indicated that the proposed explainable AI model can predict the clinical conditions of MS disease with high accuracy and provide transparent and understandable explanations with high fidelity. Future work will include further clinical data such as medications and investigate the correlation of the texture features and clinical data with the neurological impairment. The proposed model should also be evaluated on more MS *** Relevance— This method can assist clinical experts by providing explainable and interpretable diagnosis in the assessment of MS disease.

This paper presents the design, prototype implementation and validation of an intelligent, low-cost IoTbased system for the management of a shooting range that offers the capabilities of an official International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) championship layout. The system can be configured to include the most common or well-known targeting schemas, such as championship targeting system. The ARTEMIS system provides the option and allows the administrator to configure the layouts to support a number of shooting configurations, using a low-cost wireless system, significantly reducing the cost compared to existing approaches. The designed prototype combines the high-end capabilities of the official ISSF equipment, and the portability of a wireless solution. The design and development of the prototype is presented and the evaluation aims to demonstrate the portability of the system and its ability to enhance the overall shooting experience either for target practice or for recreational purposes.

An Intrusion Detection System monitors the network for any malicious attacks. It is an ideal tool for protecting extensive business networks from any kind of attack. In this paper, an Intrusion Detection System using Bagging and ranked features has been proposed. The sample datasets for training the ensemble of classifiers in the bagging approach are obtained by generating subsets of the features ranked according to their importance in the classification process. OneR algorithm has been used to rank the features. The decision tree has been used as the base classifier in the bagging approach. The proposed system was able to predict attacks with an accuracy of 99.71% with a minimal number of features and outperformed other similar approaches discussed in the literature. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2023. Intelligent traffic control requires accurate estimation of the road states and incorporation of adaptive or dynamically adjusted intelligent algorithms for making the *** this article,these issues are handled by proposing a novel framework for traffic control using vehicular communications and Internet of Things *** framework integrates Kalman filtering and *** smoothing Kalman filtering,our data fusion Kalman filter incorporates a process-aware model which makes it superior in terms of the prediction *** traditional Q-learning,our Q-learning algorithm enables adaptive state quantization by changing the threshold of separating low traffic from high traffic on the road according to the maximum number of vehicles in the junction *** evaluation,the model has been simulated on a single intersection consisting of four roads:east,west,north,and south.A comparison of the developed adaptive quantized Q-learning(AQQL)framework with state-of-the-art and greedy approaches shows the superiority of AQQL with an improvement percentage in terms of the released number of vehicles of AQQL is 5%over the greedy approach and 340%over the state-of-the-art ***,AQQL provides an effective traffic control that can be applied in today’s intelligent traffic system.
