The need for a robust indoor localization solution is mounting in the recent few year, as the IoT technology is growing fast. In this paper, we discuss existing indoor localization approaches, focusing on the signal strength fingerprint approaches, to which belongs the presented study and based on Bluetooth Low Energy signal. The proposed approach employs the Radial Basis Functions (RBF) to create model that describe the real signal strength-position relationship. The present method is fully implemented on a smart phone, namely, offline data collection, model computation and online position estimation. This allow updating the model by collecting more signal data, therefore improving the localization accuracy with small efforts. The presented results shows that updating the model effectively improves the accuracy of estimation.

This paper presents a measurement of jet-track correlations in photon-jet events, using 1.72 nb−1 of Pb+Pb data at sNN=5.02TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Events with energetic photon-jet pairs are selected, where the photon and jet are approximately back-to-back in azimuth. The angular correlation between jets and charged-particle tracks with transverse momentum (pT) in the range 0.5–2.0 GeV in the hemisphere opposite to the jet, |Δϕ(jet,track)|>π/2, is measured as a function of their relative pseudorapidity difference, |Δη(jet,track)|. In central Pb+Pb collisions, these correlations are predicted to be sensitive to the diffusion wake in the quark-gluon plasma resulting from the lost energy of high-pT partons traversing the plasma, with a characteristic modification as a function of |Δη(jet,track)|. The correlations are examined with different selections on the jet-to-photon pT ratio to select events with different degrees of energy loss. No diffusion wake signal is observed within the current sensitivity and upper limits at 95% confidence level on the diffusion wake amplitude are reported.

In the past, most farmers have taken care of their products by relying on basic observation and general knowledge. The quality of agricultural products depends on the farmer's skill and experience. Therefore, transferring knowledge of planting techniques from one generation to another is not an easy task. In recent years, the smart farm concept has been introduced. However, most current smart farming focuses on monitoring, without utilising the observed data in other ways. Therefore, the aim of this research is to propose a traceability system, summarising and presenting observed data from the smart farm. The Internet of Things (IoT) has been introduced in this research, using several sensors to detect the environmental data in the smart farm. The entire data from the results was computed and presented using a traceability system. Customers are provided with more information support, especially concerning the quality of the planting process, before buying an agricultural product by scanning a quick response (QR) code through a mobile application. This gives the customer greater confidence in the product.

Nowadays the Internet infrastructure enables the transfer of massive amounts of large data sets throughout the Web. Over this infrastructure, the risks of infringement of the owner's rights and the incapability to defend their data from attacks are important. There are several demands for novel and smart watermarking schemes to save those rights from an illegal copying of the digital products. The Digital watermarking is a technology used to protect the copyrights of the digital media. Image watermarking scheme is used to limit the chances of piracy. Various approaches were proposed to be used with an image watermarking scheme, such as wavelet transforms, principle component analysis and singular value decomposition. In this work, the proposed watermarking scheme is based on the Daubechies family wavelets, Daubechies-5 and Daubechies-7 wavelet transform. This wavelet family approach is highly robust against various types of attacks, prohibiting the piracy and authentication of the digital data. The experimental results depict that this proposed scheme allows protection at a higher level compared with other existing frameworks and schemes.

English Wikipedia as an encylopedic knowledge base has been widely applied in various researches. Unfortunately, Indonesian Wikipedia which has many different contents with the English version, is still rarely explored as knowledge base. As preliminary effort, this research aims to construct knowledge base by extracting information from infoboxes in the Indonesian Wikipedia. Extraction was carried out in two stages: selecting infobox texts from Indonesian Wikipedia dump files, and extracting relations in infoboxes. The relations and its arguments is represented as triple RDF. Our result shows that more relations can be generated from the extraction of Indonesian Wikipedia infoboxes than from other general knowledge bases, such as Yago.

Latent geometry of bipartite networks

Despite the abundance of bipartite networked systems, their organizing principles are less studied compared to unipartite networks. Bipartite networks are often analyzed after projecting them onto one of the two sets of nodes. As a result of the projection, nodes of the same set are linked together if they have at least one neighbor in common in the bipartite network. Even though these projections allow one to study bipartite networks using tools developed for unipartite networks, one-mode projections lead to significant loss of information and artificial inflation of the projected network with fully connected subgraphs. Here we pursue a different approach for analyzing bipartite systems that is based on the observation that such systems have a latent metric structure: network nodes are points in a latent metric space, while connections are more likely to form between nodes separated by shorter distances. This approach has been developed for unipartite networks, and relatively little is known about its applicability to bipartite systems. Here, we fully analyze a simple latent-geometric model of bipartite networks and show that this model explains the peculiar structural properties of many real bipartite systems, including the distributions of common neighbors and bipartite clustering. We also analyze the geometric information loss in one-mode projections in this model and propose an efficient method to infer the latent pairwise distances between nodes. Uncovering the latent geometry underlying real bipartite networks can find applications in diverse domains, ranging from constructing efficient recommender systems to understanding cell metabolism.

A search for quantum black holes in electron+jet and muon+jet invariant mass spectra is performed with 140 fb−1 of data collected by the ATLAS detector in proton-proton collisions at s=13 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. The observed invariant mass spectrum of lepton+jet pairs is consistent with Standard Model expectations. Upper limits are set at 95% confidence level on the production cross section times branching fractions for quantum black holes decaying into a lepton and a quark in a search region with invariant mass above 2.0 TeV. The resulting quantum black hole lower mass threshold limit is 9.2 TeV in the Arkani-Hamed-Dimopoulos-Dvali model, and 6.8 TeV in the Randall-Sundrum model.

As the global community becomes more interested in improving the quality of life of older people and preventing undesired events related to their health status, the development of sophisticated devices and analysis algorithms for monitoring everyday activities is necessary more than ever. Wearable devices lie among the most popular solutions from a hardware point of view, while machine learning techniques have shown to be very powerful in behavioral monitoring. Nevertheless, creating robust models from data collected unobtrusively in home environments can be challenging, especially for the vulnerable ageing population. Under that premise, we propose an activity recognition scheme for older people along with heuristic computational solutions to address the challenges due to inconsistent measurements in non-standardized environments.

The purpose of this research is to know how influence of mixture of pertamax with Tuak Nias (Tuonifaro) to fuel consumption at 125 cc engine To prove that Tuak Nias or Tuonifaro can be used as fuel mixture on motorcycle and examine how big influence of mix between Tuak Nias or Tuonifaro with Pertamax, conducting research by literature study method or literature study. Many authors use various supporting / input factors and supporting books related to the titles discussed. because Tuak Nias or tuonifaro contain low 4-5% ethanonic elements and contain 90% alcoholic elements so that the fuel easily burns easily in the combustion chamber and produces great power.
