Network Traffic Classification (NTC) is one of the most important tasks in network management. The imbalanced nature of classes on the internet presents a critical challenge in classification tasks. For example, some classes of applications are much more prevalent than others, such as HTTP. As a result, machine learning classification models do not perform well on those classes with fewer data. To address this problem, we propose a pipeline to balance the dataset and classify it using a robust and accurate embedding technique. First, we generate artificial data using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks and Kernel Density Estimation (KDE). Next, we propose replacing one-hot encoding for categorical features with a novel embedding framework based on the"Flow as a Sentence" perspective, which we name FS-Embedding. This framework treats the source and destination ports, along with the packet’s direction, as one word in a flow, then trains an embedding vector space based on these new features through the learning classification task. Finally, we compare our pipeline with the training of a Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network (CRNN) and Transformers, both with imbalanced and sampled datasets, as well as with the one-hot encoding approach. We demonstrate that the proposed augmentation pipeline, combined with FS-Embedding, increases convergence speed and leads to a significant reduction in the number of model parameters, all while maintaining the same performance in terms of accuracy. © 2025, CC BY.

Digital Marketing is a product marketing strategy using digital media and internet networks. Nowadays, digital marketing is a necessity for companies that thrive in the digital world. It greatly affects the growth of MSME (Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises) especially when it comes to increasing their sales performance by enhancing their brand awareness through various media or instruments such as a Facebook ad, Instagram advertising, Search Engine Optimization, and Search Engine Marketing. This research is aimed to measure how much impact of digital marketing utilization into Micro, Small, Medium enterprises. On the other hand, it also provides an understanding on what are the best digital marketing method to be utilized in the current situation. The method we used in this paper is quantitative. Data were collected through various questions constructed in an electronic questionnaire. This research provides a reference of digital marketing strategies for Micro, Small and Medium business owners. The result shows that digital marketing has a huge impact on the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise from increasing sales, increasing brand awareness, and gaining customers based on the data collected from both customer and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise players in Indonesia. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ChatGPT, an AI-based chatbot, offers coherent and useful replies based on analysis of large volumes of data. In this article, leading academics, scientists, distinguish researchers and engineers discuss the transformative effects of ChatGPT on modern education. This research discusses ChatGPT capabilities and its use in the education sector, identifies potential concerns and challenges. Our preliminary evaluation shows that ChatGPT perform differently in different subject areas including finance, coding, maths, and general public queries. While ChatGPT has the ability to help educators by creating instructional content, offering suggestions and acting as an online educator to learners by answering questions, transforming education through smartphones and IoT gadgets, and promoting group work, there are clear drawbacks in its use, such as the possibility of producing inaccurate or false data and circumventing duplicate content (plagiarism) detectors where originality is essential. The often reported "hallucinations" within GenerativeAI in general, and also relevant for ChatGPT, can render its use of limited benefit where accuracy is essential. What ChatGPT lacks is a stochastic measure to help provide sincere and sensitive communication with its users. Academic regulations and evaluation practices used in educational institutions need to be updated, should ChatGPT be used as a tool in education. To address the transformative effects of ChatGPT on the learning environment, educating teachers and students alike about its capabilities and limitations will be crucial. © 2023 The Authors

The advent of Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has revolutionized manufacturing and production systems, enhancing efficiency and communication through the integration of advanced technologies such as IoT devices and AI. However, this increased digitization has also led to heightened cybersecurity risks, with a notable rise in the frequency and complexity of cyber-attacks. Cyber Ranges emerges as a critical solution in addressing these challenges, offering a controlled environment for simulating cyber-attack scenarios, training cybersecurity teams, and developing robust defense strategies. The escalating demand for cybersecurity professionals has highlighted the crucial need for effective training solutions. This article presents an open-source Cyber Range constructed on container-based architecture, meticulously engineered for efficient operation with minimal resource consumption. In response to the scarcity of cybersecurity experts, this platform prioritizes extensive scalability and robust isolation between exercises, ensuring secure learning environments, and also integrates a complex developed exercise series aimed at strengthening cybersecurity learning experiences. These exercises encompass a variety of scenarios and challenges, catering to professionals at different skill levels. Each exercise replicates real-world cyber threats, offering practical, hands-on learning opportunities. Additionally, a comprehensive questionnaire accompanies these exercises, designed to gather feedback on participants' experiences.

STREAMING PIANO TRANSCRIPTION BASED ON CONSISTENT ONSET AND OFFSET DECODING WITH SUSTAIN PEDAL DETECTION

This paper describes a streaming audio-to-MIDI transcription method that can sequentially translate a piano recording into a sequence of note-on and note-off events. The sequence-to-sequence learning nature of this task may call for using a Transformer model, which has been used for offline transcription and could be extended for streaming transcription with a causal restriction of the attention mechanism. We assume that the decoder of this model suffers from the performance limitation. Although time-frequency features useful for onset detection are considerably different from those for offset detection, the single decoder is trained to output a mixed sequence of onset and offset events without guarantee of the correspondence between the onset and offset events of the same note. To overcome this limitation, we propose a streaming encoder-decoder model that uses a convolutional encoder aggregating local acoustic features, followed by an autoregressive transformer decoder detecting a variable number of onset events and another decoder detecting the offset events of the active pitches with validation of the sustain pedal at each time frame. Experiments using the MAESTRO dataset showed that the proposed streaming method performed comparably with or even better than the state-of-the-art offline methods while significantly reducing the computational cost. This paper introduces a new method for managing fire hydrants that uses a monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and a Naive Bayes Classifier (NBC) for predictive maintenance. Water pressure, flow rate, and the physical state of fire hydrants are among the essential factors for the proposed system continually collecting data using an IoT sensor network. The system analyzes real-time data using NBC. These predictive capabilities reduce the potential of hydrant breakdowns during emergencies through preventive maintenance potential. It introduces a reliable IoT infrastructure for fire hydrant monitoring, improving the acquired data's granularity and timeliness. NBC provides a powerful instrument for early problem detection, significantly improving maintenance effectiveness. Since the technology is compatible with existing fire department procedures, it can easily integrate into current operational processes. Better public safety, more efficient use of resources, and more dependable fire hydrants are potential outcomes of responsive and proactive data-driven maintenance techniques. The findings improve overall fire safety and operational efficiency, with a 25% decrease in maintenance expenditures and a 40% increase in issue detection accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Emotion recognition is a topic of vital importance in the world of Big Data. The accurate classification, analysis and interpretation of emotional content is highly desired in a wide spectrum of applications. In this work we examine the performance of Deep Learning models for an emotion recognition task. These models can also be applied to any classification task as well as text-related tasks in general. We examine the performance of deep learning methods in textual emotion recognition under different feature selection parameters such as one-hot-enconding, custom word2vec and more. An experimental study was designed and various deep learning methods were evaluated in publicly available datasets. The results are quite interesting and indicate the advantages of each method and each examined training approach. © 2021 IEEE.

Within the realm of computer vision, the detection of defects holds significant importance for industrial production and quality assurance. However, current object detection methods encounter notable challenges when tasked with defect detection, including high inter-class similarity and substantial intra-class variability. These challenges restrict the performance of conventional approaches, leading to imprecise defect detection and localization. In response to these limitations, this study proposes a novel real-time, end-to-end defect detection approach based on a single-stage detection algorithm. Our method introduces several innovations to address these challenges and significantly enhance defect detection capabilities. Firstly, we develop a pioneering cross-layer feature aggregation method, enabling the network to effectively capture intricate defect patterns and improve its adaptability to defect detection tasks. Additionally, we introduce an attention-enhanced decoupled head, which prioritizes critical features while optimizing computational efficiency. Through comprehensive testing on the NEU-DET defect detection dataset, our approach demonstrates remarkable performance gains over conventional object detection methods. Notably, our method achieves an impressive detection speed of 68 FPS while surpassing existing methods in terms of detection accuracy. These results highlight the practical significance of our approach, meeting the stringent requirements of industrial production for both accuracy and speed. Furthermore, the efficacy and robustness of our method are further validated using the GC10-DET dataset, underscoring its potential for real-world applications across diverse industrial settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

User Experience (UX), as a theoretical and practical field of research, is based on the theory of Human computer Interaction (HCI), studies systems, products, and services in the field of (mainly) Information technology (IT), and aims at user satisfaction and better, more pleasant and more efficient interaction with systems. The popularity of Mobile Device Applications (MDAs) in the last decade has introduced new interaction environments and thus the need to formulate, develop and adapt to them, theories, and methods of UX. We present UX as a theoretical and practical framework and record its methodology - both the general one for various systems so far, and the specific one for Mobile Device Applications and more specifically for those that project cultural content in conventional ways and through augmentation. As part of the research, high-fidelity prototypes were designed and were tested during a user survey (usability test, questionnaire) for extracting conclusions to improve the design of the application. © 2022 IEEE.

Asia stands out as a priority for urgent biodiversity conservation due to its large protected areas(PAs)and threatened *** the 21st century,both the highlands and lowlands of Asia have been experiencing the dramatic human ***,the threat degree of human expansion to biodiversity is poorly ***,the threat degree of human expansion to biodiversity over 2000 to 2020 in Asia at the continental(Asia),national(48 Asian countries),and hotspot(6,502 Asian terrestrial PAs established before 2000)scales is investigated by integrating multiple large-scale *** results show that human expansion poses widespread threat to biodiversity in Asia,especially in Southeast Asia,with Malaysia,Cambodia,and Vietnam having the largest threat degrees(~1.5 to 1.7 times of the Asian average level).Human expansion in highlands induces higher threats to biodiversity than that in lowlands in one-third Asian countries(most Southeast Asian countries).The regions with threats to biodiversity are present in~75%terrestrial PAs(including 4,866 PAs in 26 countries),and human expansion in PAs triggers higher threat degrees to biodiversity than that in *** findings provide novel insight for the Sustainable Development Goal 15(SDG-15 Life on Land)and suggest that human expansion in Southeast Asian countries and PAs might hinder the realization of *** reduce the threat degree,Asian developing countries should accelerate economic transformation,and the developed countries in the world should reduce the demands for commodity trade in Southeast Asian countries(i.e.,trade leading to the loss of wildlife habitats)to alleviate human expansion,especially in PAs and highlands.
