This paper presents a generation system based on the induction generator for wind energy application. The induction generator is connected to single-phase grid through an ac-dc-ac single-phase to three-phase converter. The single-phase converter is composed of two parallel single-phase half-bridge converters. Suitable modelling, including the circulation current, and control strategy are developed. The control of generator is based on the field oriented control. A pulse width-modulation (PWM) technique using a single and double carriers PWM is presented. Proposed topology permits to improve the harmonic distortion. Beside, it can reduce the power losses in the converter. Finally, simulation and experimental results are presented.

This paper presents three-phase converter topologies for four-wire systems. The converters are series connected by three-phase transformers with accessible neutral. They possess a common dc-link, which is the power supply of the system, and two or more converters, where one of them is connected directly to the ac system, and the others cascaded through three-phase transformers. The three-phase transformers have turn ratios that are calculated in order to maximize the number of levels produced by the inverters. The Level-Shifted Pulse Width Modulation technique is developed for two and three cascaded converters, and a control system is used to set the electrical grid currents on desired values. Simulation and experimental results are exposed for configurations with two cascaded converters, each one with either three or four legs.

This paper proposes a hybrid multilevel topology for Open-End stator Winding (OEW) induction motor drive based on Modular Multilevel Cascade Inverter (MMCI) with Double-Star Chopper-Cells (DSCC) and 2-Level Voltage Source Inverter (2L-VSI). An efficient Voltage Reference Technique is proposed to generate the pole voltages of both inverters. As a result, the DSCC inverter is commanded in high-switching frequency, while the 2L-VSI operates at the fundamental frequency. A voltage-balancing control of the floating DC capacitors of the DSCC is presented to ensure the energy balance. At last, to investigate the proposed system and control strategy, experimental results are presented.

An unidirectional three-phase to three-phase dc-link converter is proposed, in this paper. It is composed of three unidirectional ac-dc-ac three-leg converters with a shared-leg. The three-leg converter is composed of a non-controlled leg, two controlled legs and a dc-link. A suitable model and control strategy of the systems, including a synchronization method, are proposed. The synchronization method, associated with the PWM strategy allow the grid currents and load voltages have the same phase angle of the input converter voltages. This method ensures sinusoidal grid currents and mitigate the zero-crossing distortions normally caused by the use of diodes. Simulation and experimental results are also presented for validation purposes.

This paper presents a shunt active power filter based on the concept of open-end winding (OEW) transformers. The proposed configuration is constituted of two converters with three legs each series connected throughout a three-phase OEW transformer. Model PWM strategy and control scheme are presented as well. The main advantage of the proposed system lies on the multi-level waveform generation, which allows reduction of either harmonic distortions or switching losses. This proposed topology is suitable for medium voltage (MV) distribution systems. Simulation and experimental results validate the theoretical study.

This paper is about modeling and control of a XY positioning table. It is described the construction and instrumentation of a double axis positioning system. It is developed a general electromechanical model, followed by the identification of simplified models for control purposes. Annual global energy consumption growth is around 1.3% with forecasts until 2040. Photovoltaic systems became a suitable alternative to nuclear and fossil energy generation. In order to support this technology’s dissemination, we develop and evaluate an automated formal synthesis approach that assists in decision-making for off-grid systems. Our proposed approach, called PVz, is based on a variant of the counterexample-guided inductive synthesis;it has a multi-core feature, which can obtain the optimal sizing of photovoltaic systems focusing on Life Cycle Cost analysis. Given the electrical needs of a home, we seek a set of electrical equipment with the best possible combination of devices that meet the specified requirements. We calculate all costs related to maintenance over 20 years. The results presented are based on seven case studies;some of them are real ones from the Amazon region in Brazil. The same case studies were solved by a commercial optimization tool. Our technique and the commercial tool results were validated with popular simulation software to perform a fair comparison. Furthermore, we analyze some topics such as run-time, optimal solution, and configuration of the resulting systems. We claim that our technique is advantageous compared to the existing approaches in the literature. © 2021, CC BY-NC-SA.

Power policies are widely applied at computer systems such as desktops, notebooks, and smartphones. For example, the timeout policy to turn off the display. A power management policy must be tested by measuring the power consumption of an experimental platform running workloads. Such tests must be fast enough to feedback the development process with valuable information about the power policy performance. In this work, we have presented a methodology for estimating computer systems power consumption for time scaled experiments. Using the proposed methodology, we have reduced the overall time for developing a power management policy.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a pervasive developmental disorder that will affect children in terms of interpersonal communication, social interaction, and imaginative levels in play. Many therapies to help the motor neuron performance is one of them Pretend Play. Pretend Play is a therapy that invites children in playing to demonstrate something else and tell how to use objects that are considered in the child's imagination. However, in the era of highly developed technology, many fields have used the Augmented Reality method as a visualization of various aspects. With this method researchers will present the therapeutic visualization of the block to 3D transportation tool that is useful for strengthening motor nerves and visual strength of the child. The system can run well during marker detection, marker movement, and 3D object display with the accuracy of precision angle and distance between virtual world with real world reach 100% with angle 0 at distance 31 cm and the maximum distance from the marker is 46 cm and the maximum angle is 30. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

An unidirectional single-phase three-wire rectifier is proposed in this paper. Such a proposed topology is composed of a non-controlled leg, two controlled legs and a capacitor bank. A suitable model and control strategy of the system, including a synchronization method, are proposed as well. The synchronization method, associated with the PWM strategy, imposes the grid currents to have the same phase angle of the generated voltages by rectifier. This method ensures sinusoidal grid currents and mitigate the zero-crossover distortions normally caused by the use of diodes. A comprehensive comparison with two conventional configurations is also presented in this paper. Simulation and experimental results are also presented for validation purposes.
