In many real scenarios, data are often divided into a handful of artificial super categories in terms of expert knowledge rather than the representations of images. Concretely, a superclass may contain massive and various raw categories, such as refuse sorting. Due to the lack of common semantic features, the existing classification techniques are intractable to recognize superclass without raw class labels, thus they suffer severe performance damage or require huge annotation costs. To narrow this gap, this paper proposes a superclass learning framework, called SuperClass Learning with Representation Enhancement(SCLRE), to recognize super categories by leveraging enhanced representation. Specifically, by exploiting the self-attention technique across the batch, SCLRE collapses the boundaries of those raw categories and enhances the representation of each superclass. On the enhanced representation space, a superclassaware decision boundary is then reconstructed. Theoretically, we prove that by leveraging attention techniques the generalization error of SCLRE can be bounded under superclass scenarios. Experimentally, extensive results demonstrate that SCLRE outperforms the baseline and other contrastive-based methods on CIFAR-100 datasets and four high-resolution datasets.

Bilingual lexicon induction (BLI) can transfer knowledgefrom well- to under- resourced language, and has been widelyapplied to various NLP tasks. Recent work on BLI is projection-based that learns a mapping to connect source and target embedding spaces, with the isomorphism assumption. Unfortunately, the isomorphism assumption doesn't hold gener-ally, especially in typologically distant language pairs. Moreover, without supervised signals guiding, the training will further com-plicates BLI, making the performance of unsupervised methods unsatisfactory. To broke the restrict of isomorphism, we propose a semi-supervised method for distant BLI tasks, named A Semi-supervised Bilingual Lexicon Induction method in Latent Space based on Bidirectional Adversarial Model. First, two latent spaces are learned by two autoencoders for source and target domain independently to weaken the constraint of isomorphism in the embedding spaces. Then we add a few pairs of dictionary to learn the initial mapping to connect the Latent Space. Last, based on initial mapping, Cycle-Consistency is combined with Distance constraint constraint to maintain the geometry structure of both embedding spaces stable in the learning of bi-direction mapping based on adversarial model. By conducting extensive experiments, our method gets state-of-the-art results on most language pairs, especially with significant improvements on distant language pairs. © 2021 IEEE.

YTHDF1 shapes immune-mediated hepatitis via regulating inflammatory cell recruitment and response

Severe immune responses regulate the various clinical hepatic injuries, includingautoimmune hepatitis and acute viral hepatitis. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is acrucial regulator of immunity and inflammation. However, the precise role of YTHDF1 in Tcell-mediated hepatitis remains incompletely characterized. To address this, we utilizedConcanavalin A (ConA)-induced mouse liver damage as an experimental model for T cell-mediated hepatitis. Our findings found that hepatic YTHDF1 protein rapidly decreased during ConAinduced hepatitis, and YTHDF1-deficient (Ythdf1^(-/-)) mice showed more susceptibility toConA-induced liver injury, along with an intensified inflammatory storm accompanied by aggravated hepatic inflammatory response via ERK and NF-κB pathways. Interestingly, hepatic-specific over-expression or deletion of YTHDF1 exhibited redundancy in ConA-induced liver *** in bone marrow chimeric mice confirmed the necessity of YTHDF1 in hematopoieticcells for controlling the response to ConA-induced hepatitis. Additionally, our data revealedthat YTHDF1 deletion in macrophages exacerbated the inflammatory response induced by lipopolysaccharide. In summary, our study uncovered that YTHDF1 deficiency exacerbates the immune response in ConA-induced hepatitis by modulating the expression of inflammatorymediators, highlighting the potential of YTHDF1 as a therapeutic target for clinical hepatitis.

The Master-Slave Encoder Model for Improving Patent Text Summarization: A New Approach to Combining Specifications and Claims

In order to solve the problem of insufficient generation quality caused by traditional patent text abstract generation models only originating from patent specifications, the problem of new terminology OOV caused by rapid patent updates, and the problem of information redundancy caused by insufficient consideration of the high professionalism, accuracy, and uniqueness of patent texts, we proposes a patent text abstract generation model (MSEA) based on a master-slave encoder architecture;Firstly, the MSEA model designs a master-slave encoder, which combines the instructions in the patent text with the claims as input, and fully explores the characteristics and details between the two through the master-slave encoder;Then, the model enhances the consideration of new technical terms in the input sequence based on the pointer network, and further enhances the correlation with the input text by re weighing the "remembered" and "for-gotten" parts of the input sequence from the encoder;Finally, an enhanced repetition suppression mechanism for patent text was introduced to ensure accurate and non redundant abstracts generated. On a publicly available patent text dataset, compared to the state-of-the-art model, Improved Multi-Head Attention Mechanism (IMHAM), the MSEA model achieves an improvement of 0.006, 0.005, and 0.005 in Rouge-1, Rouge-2, and Rouge-L scores, respectively. MSEA leverages the characteristics of patent texts to effectively enhance the quality of patent text generation, demonstrating its advancement and effectiveness in the experiments. Online education has become increasingly significant for university students and faculty, especially in the context of the modern remote education landscape. However, the inherent space-time separation in online education can create communication delays between teachers and students, making it challenging to monitor students' behaviors effectively. In an effort to understand the connection between students' online engagement and their learning performance, data annotation has been implemented to address the issue of accurately representing students' learning behaviors. Taking the online teaching data of Shanghai Normal University platform as the research object, the primary online education problem is explored through data mining, which includes correlation analysis, Gini importance ranking, and principal component analysis (PCA). Then, constructing the learning performance prediction model using random forest (RF) based on PCA by comparing various machine learning algorithms. As a consequence, the most influential online learning behaviors are course duration time, document learning time, test average score, and video completion rate. The overall classification accuracy of the learning performance prediction model is 87.45%, and the highest prediction accuracy for a single category is 96.52%. © 2020 IEEE.

In multi-label learning, each instance is associated with a set of labels simultaneously. Most existing studies assume that the set of labels for each instance is complete. However, it is generally difficult to obtain all the relevant labels of each instance, and only a partial or even empty set of relevant labels is available, which is called semi-supervised multi-label learning with missing labels. To tackle this problem, we propose a novel framework that considers label correlations and instance correlations to recover the missing labels and utilizes a large amount of unlabeled data simultaneously to improve the classification performance. Specifically, a new supplementary label matrix is firstly obtained by learning the label correlation. Secondly, considering each class label may be decided by some specific characteristics of its own, a label-specific data representation is hence learned for each class label. Thirdly, instance correlations are utilized not only to recover the missing labels, but also to propagate the supervision information from labeled instances to unlabeled ones. In addition, a united objective function is designed to facilitate the above processing and an accelerated proximal gradient method is adopted to solve the optimization problem. Finally, extensive experimental results conducted on several benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method compared to competing ones.

Large scale artificial intelligence (AI) models possess excellent capabilities in semantic representation and understanding, making them particularly well-suited for semantic encoding and decoding. However, the substantial scale of these AI models imposes unacceptable computational resources and communication delays. To address this issue, we propose a semantic communication scheme based on robust knowledge distillation (RKD-SC) for large scale model enabled semantic communications. In the considered system, a transmitter extracts the features of the source image for robust transmission and accurate image classification at the receiver. To effectively utilize the superior capability of large scale model while make the cost affordable, we first transfer knowledge from a large scale model to a smaller scale model to serve as the semantic encoder. Then, to enhance the robustness of the system against channel noise, we propose a channel-aware autoencoder (CAA) based on the Transformer architecture. Experimental results show that the encoder of proposed RKD-SC system can achieve over 93.3% of the performance of a large scale model while compressing 96.67% number of parameters. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) poses diagnostic challenges due to its varied manifestations and the absence of the specific biological test. To improve the auxiliary diagnosis of ASD, this work proposes a novel deep learning framework called BWA-GCN, which capitalizes on the strengths of Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN), Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) networks, and attention mechanisms. The advantage of this model is by incorporating BiLSTM for the significant temporal feature extraction and GCN for the spatial information aggregation. The attention mechanisms are adopted in this model to enhance the precision of ASD classification. Extensive experiments based on the ABIDE dataset with CC200 and AAL brain atlas prove the good performance of this model, with the accuracy of 70.92% on the CC200 atlas and 68.72% on the AAL atlas. This research contributes a new method to the research of ASD classification, shedding light on the spatial-temporal dynamics of fMRI time-series data in ASD diagnosis.

The role of sea surface temperature(SST)variability in the pre-monsoonal(April to July)intraseasonal oscillation(ISO)over the South China Sea(SCS)is investigated using the Community Earth System Model Version 2(CESM2).An Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project(AMIP)simulation forced by daily sea surface temperatures(SSTs)derived from a parallel coupled general circulation model(CGCM)run was compared with observations and the mother coupled *** the coupled model,the SST warming leads the peak convection about 1/4 period as in *** paralell uncoupled model fails to simulate this phase relationship,implying the importance of air-sea coupling in reproducing realistic *** to the near-quadrature phase relationship between SST and precipitation ISOs during the ISO events,it is difficult to distinguish the active/passive role of SST from observations *** correlation in intraseasonal precipitation between the daily SST-forced AMIP and mother CGCM runs indicates that SST plays a role in driving the atmospheric ISO.
