In this paper, we consider IRS-assisted transmissions from a multi-antenna access point (AP) to a receiver with uncertain channel information. By adjusting the magnitude of reflecting coefficients, the IRS can sustain its operations by harvesting energy from the AP's signal beamforming. Considering channel estimation errors, we model both the AP-IRS channel and the AP-IRS-receiver as a cascaded channel by norm-based uncertainty sets. This allows us to formulate a robust optimization problem to minimize the AP's transmit power, subject to the receiver's worst-case data rate requirement and the IRS's worst-case power budget constraint. Instead of using the alternating optimization (AO) method, we firstly propose a heuristic scheme to decompose the IRS's phase shift optimization and the AP's active beamforming. Based on semidefinite relaxations of the worst-case constraints, we further devise an iterative algorithm to optimize the AP's transmit beamforming and the magnitude of the IRS's reflecting coefficients efficiently by solving a set of semidefinite programs. Simulation results reveal that the AP requires a higher transmit power to deal with the channel uncertainty. Moreover, the negative effect of channel uncertainty can be alleviated by using a larger-size IRS.

Q&A driven conversational recommendation integrating multiple interest modeling

The conversational recommendation aims to provide users with recommendations in an interaction form of “System Ask-User Respond” . Existing studies rarely consider combining users’ multi-interest at the attribute level for preference modeling, and conduct inefficient conversational recommendation strategy learning, which affects the recommendation performance and conversation performance. To this end, we proposed a Q-A driven conversational recommendation method integrating multiple interest modeling. Specifically, we integrate the user’s positive and negative feedback to model a session dynamic graph, then use the signed graph convolutional network for graph representation learning, and we model multiple interest sequences based on the attention mechanism, then obtain the user interest state representation by fusing of sequence representations to solve the problem of insufficient user preference representation. Besides, we proposed a personalized decision space optimization method to narrow the range of action candidates and train the model with a multi-agent reinforcement learning method integrating hierarchical decision debiasing to solve the problem of poor conversational recommendation strategy learning effect. Experimental results on three public datasets, LastFM, Yelp, and Book, show that compared with existing conversational recommendation methods, our method demonstrates consistent performance improvement across all datasets. In addition, the results of ablation experiments verify the effectiveness of each component in our method.

Heating in the ocean has continued in 2024 in response to increased greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere,despite the transition from an El Ni?o to neutral conditions. In 2024, both global sea surface temperature(SST) and upper2000 m ocean heat content(OHC) reached unprecedented highs in the historical record. The 0–2000 m OHC in 2024exceeded that of 2023 by 16 ± 8 ZJ(1 Zetta Joules = 1021 Joules, with a 95% confidence interval)(IAP/CAS data), which is confirmed by two other data products: 18 ± 7 ZJ(CIGAR-RT reanalysis data) and 40 ± 31 ZJ(Copernicus Marine data,updated to November 2024). The Indian Ocean, tropical Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea, North Atlantic, North Pacific, and Southern Ocean also experienced record-high OHC values in 2024. The global SST continued its record-high values from2023 into the first half of 2024, and declined slightly in the second half of 2024, resulting in an annual mean of 0.61°C ±0.02°C(IAP/CAS data) above the 1981–2010 baseline, slightly higher than the 2023 annual-mean value(by 0.07°C ±0.02°C for IAP/CAS, 0.05°C ± 0.02°C for NOAA/NCEI, and 0.06°C ± 0.11°C for Copernicus Marine). The record-high values of 2024 SST and OHC continue to indicate unabated trends of global heating.

Ontology revision aims to seamlessly incorporate a new ontology into an existing ontology and plays a crucial role in tasks such as ontology evolution, ontology maintenance, and ontology alignment. Similar to repair single ontologies, resolving logical incoherence in the task of ontology revision is also important and meaningful, because incoherence is a main potential factor to cause inconsistency and reasoning with an inconsistent ontology will obtain meaningless answers. To deal with this problem, various ontology revision approaches have been proposed to define revision operators and design ranking strategies for axioms in an ontology. However, they rarely consider axiom semantics which provides important information to differentiate axioms. In addition, pre-trained models can be utilized to encode axiom semantics, and have been widely applied in many natural language processing tasks and ontology-related ones in recent years. Therefore, in this paper, we study how to apply pre-trained models to revise ontologies. We first define four scoring functions to rank axioms based on a pre-trained model by considering various information from an ontology. Based on the functions, an ontology revision algorithm is then proposed to deal with unsatisfiable concepts at once. To improve efficiency, an adapted revision algorithm is designed to deal with unsatisfiable concepts group by group. We conduct experiments over 19 ontology pairs and compare our algorithms and scoring functions with existing ones. According to the experiments, our algorithms could achieve promising performance. The adapted revision algorithm could improve the efficiency largely, and at most about 90% of the time could be saved for some ontology pairs. Some of our scoring functions like reliableOnt cos could help a revision algorithm obtain better results in many cases, especially for those challenging ontology pairs like OM8. Motivated by the advancing computational capacity of distributed end-user equipment (UE), as well as the increasing concerns about sharing private data, there has been considerable recent interest in machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) that can be processed on distributed UEs. Specifically, in this paradigm, parts of a ML process are outsourced to multiple distributed UEs. Then the processed information is aggregated on a certain level at a central server, which turns a centralized ML process into a distributed one, and brings about significant benefits. However, this new distributed ML paradigm raises new risks of privacy and security issues. In this paper, we provide a survey on the emerging security and privacy risks of distributed ML from a unique perspective of information exchange levels, which are defined according to the key steps of a ML process, i.e.: i) the level of pre-processed data, ii) the level of learning models, iii) the level of extracted knowledge and, iv) the level of intermediate results. We explore and analyze the potential of threats for each information exchange level based on an overview of the current state-of-the-art attack mechanisms, and then discuss the possible defense methods against such threats. Finally, we complete the survey by providing an outlook on the challenges and possible directions for future research in this critical area. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Social Internet of Things (SloT), as a new carrier of integration of social and Internet of Things, applies the research results of social networks from different aspects of the Internet of Things. Different types of connected intelligent objects interact socially, compared with random data access between them, access control technology is more stringent. This paper integrates social attributes into attributebased access control of Internet of Things, initializes relational attribute tags, and labels social interest attributes for different objects, then quantifes tag similarity and implements initial access control authorization, integrates social attributes into game theory to dynamically adjust access control policies, so the adaptive finegrained division of access control under the Social Internet of Things is effectively realized. The experimental results show that our method can not only effectively carry out initial authorization according to tag similarity, but also further adaptively adjust the permission policy according to social attributes, and further meet the finegrained partition requirements of access control, which is ensure the effective implementation of access control under the Social Internet of things. © 2021. The major work is to retrieve the surface soil moisture under crop cover in this paper. This paper proposes an improved GA-BP model called as DEFS-GA-BP model. This model is proposed to retrieve the surface soil moisture distribution using Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 remote sensing data. After extracting nine polarization features and one roughness parameter from Sentinel-1 data, five vegetation indexes from Sentinel-2 data. The differential evolution feature selection (DEFS) algorithm is applied to select the optimal feature subset. By using the genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the node weights, the back propagation (BP) neural network is trained using the optimal feature subset and then used to generate the surface soil moisture distribution. The results of inversion algorithm indicate that the proposed DEFS-GA-BP model has a better inversion precision than GA-BP model, and demonstrates its application potential in surface soil moisture inversion. © 2020 Institution of engineering and technology. By using the principle of sensor data consistency and combining the kalman filter algorithm with the bayesian algorithm, the accuracy of the algorithm is significantly improved under the condition of large data volume and complex system. An adaptive multi-sensor data consistency algorithm based on node credibility proposes the internal correlation between the sensor credibility and the data values it provides, and the final data fusion results are obtained by fusion of the optimized data through the sensor credibility. The advantages of this algorithm include: (1) the data is optimized by kalman filter, which reduces the influence of the data provided by the sensor with low reliability on the fusion result;(2) bayesian algorithm is adopted to calculate the correct probability of data values and the reliability of the sensor, which overcomes the inherent uncertainty of the sensor and improves the accuracy of data fusion. The results show that compared with the traditional data consistency algorithm, this algorithm can further improve the accuracy of fusion results and reduce the position error. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Because of the short length of documents describing Web services on the Internet, the traditional modeling method is not ideal, which affects the clustering effect of Web services. To this end, we propose a word-embedded topic model, which can effectively solve the problem of data sparsity. A method based on embedded words and topic models. Firstly, Wikipedia is used as an external corpus to extend API service document, and LF-LDA model is used to model its topic distribution. The corpus data is extracted from Wikipedia by wikiextractor, and the corpus is trained with Word2vec tool. The data comes from its word vector model. Use the trained Wikipedia Word Vector Model to extend API service description documents. In the extended API service documents, LF-LDA topic modeling technology is used to mine the implicit topic information and determine the optimal number of topics, so as to accurately measure the semantic similarity between API service documents. Finally, K-means algorithm is used to cluster Web services, and the validity of this method is verified by the real data of API services on the basis of programmability. The experimental results show that this method has better accuracy, recall rate and F value than the traditional Web service clustering method based on topic model algorithm. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
