CVD continues to pose a substantial global health burden, demanding the need for the creation of precise predictive models that can aid in the timely identification and evaluation of risks. This research paper aims to provide a thorough examination of the prediction of CVD by utilizing CNN in aggregation with hyperparameter tuning techniques. This paper examines the effectiveness of three widely recognized CNN architectures, namely ResNet, VGGNet, and Xception CVD. The Tree-structured Parzen Estimator (TPE) is utilized as a method for tuning hyperparameters in order to optimize the CNN models. The study commences with a comprehensive examination of the dataset, encompassing a wide array of cardiovascular CT image data. The chosen CNN architectures serve as the fundamental framework for our predictive models. The selection of these architectures is based on their established track record in effectively addressing image analysis tasks and their capacity to accurately capture complex patterns and features present in medical images. The models undergo training using a dataset in order to acquire knowledge about distinctive features that are linked to various cardiovascular conditions. The experimental findings presented in the study indicate that the utilization of the Xception architecture, in aggregation with TPE for hyperparameter optimization, yields the most favorable predictive accuracy. Specifically, the achieved accuracy rate of 98.26% is notably remarkable. This result highlights the significance of not only choosing advanced CNN architectures but also optimizing their hyperparameters to fully exploit their potential in predicting cardiovascular disease. This establishes it as a promising tool for the early diagnosis and risk assessment of CVD. This study establishes a fundamental basis for future investigations in the advancement of precise and dependable predictive models applicable to various medical imaging contexts. © The Author(s), under exclusive license

Machine learning systems have gained tremendous attention in solving complex tasks. For instance, image classification using machine learning has multiple applications in the medical field, where different imaging modalities are used for diagnosing, detecting, and classifying diseases. This study aims to analyze different machine-learning approaches for detecting knee osteoarthritis using X-rays. We used different machine learning algorithms to classify X-ray images of the knee to various levels of osteoarthritis severity. We have solved the problem as a binary classification task, multi-class classification, and ordinal regression task. The Histogram of Oriented Gradients and Haralick Features are used for feature extraction in the binary classification task. For Binary Classification, six experiments are performed using different machine learning classifiers. Logistic regression has a maximum accuracy of 84.50%, F measure of 81%, AUC of 0.84, Mathew's Correlation Coefficient of 0.69, and Cohen's Kappa 0.66. 10-Fold cross-validation also reveals that the models' performance is consistent across all folds. Furthermore, texture and shape features are extracted for ordinal classification using the histogram of oriented gradients and dense DAISY descriptors. Finally, separate experiments are performed, and results for both descriptors are compared. Our implemented approaches have shown state-of-the-art results. © 2023 IEEE.

The microservices are continuously growing in domains of communication using cloud and AI. Access to microservice can be done using any respective cloud environment. Access microservices using cloud require multiple configurations. These configurations can be set up in Kubernetes or containerized environments to lightweight any application which increases the performance of microservices. Multiple requests can create a concurrent call, which causes slow response. Generative AI models can be used to solve concurrent calls. Generative AI used a modular approach for microservice communications with API gateway. This allows microservices to function in a variety of contexts, including cloud, edge devices, and containers. This process refers to a decentralized approach which can only be implemented in the case of microservices and provide improvement in latency along with bandwidth. © 2024 IEEE.

Accelerating local SGD for non-IID data using variance reduction

Distributed stochastic gradient descent and its variants have been widely adopted in the training of machine learning models,which apply multiple workers in *** them,local-based algorithms,including Local SGD and FedAvg,have gained much attention due to their superior properties,such as low communication cost and ***,when the data distribution on workers is non-identical,local-based algorithms would encounter a significant degradation in the convergence *** this paper,we propose Variance Reduced Local SGD(VRL-SGD)to deal with the heterogeneous *** extra communication cost,VRL-SGD can reduce the gradient variance among workers caused by the heterogeneous data,and thus it prevents local-based algorithms from slow convergence ***,we present VRL-SGD-W with an effectivewarm-up mechanism for the scenarios,where the data among workers are quite *** from eliminating the impact of such heterogeneous data,we theoretically prove that VRL-SGD achieves a linear iteration speedup with lower communication complexity even if workers access non-identical *** conduct experiments on three machine learning *** experimental results demonstrate that VRL-SGD performs impressively better than Local SGD for the heterogeneous data and VRL-SGD-W is much robust under high data variance among workers.

Agriculture, the backbone of many economies, faces challenges like lack of information, outdated practices, and limited access to technology, hindering farmer productivity. This work proposes a user-friendly, multilingual platform leveraging Generative AI to address farmers' diverse needs. The platform encompasses various features to enhance agricultural practices. An LLM-powered Government Scheme Advisor functions as a multilingual chatbot offering intelligent guidance on government agricultural schemes and subsidies. The Disease Detection module utilizes AI technology for real-time identification and treatment recommendations, minimizing crop diseases and yield losses. The Soil Testing Centre feature locates nearby soil testing centers, providing essential information based on geographical data to assist farmers in optimizing soil quality. A Crop Recommendation feature employs Machine Learning algorithms to offer personalized crop recommendations, considering various factors and aiding informed decision-making. The Crop Planning Tool, with its intuitive user interface, simplifies planning planting schedules and managing resources. Additionally, the platform includes an MSP Center Locator to find nearby Minimum Support Price (MSP) centers based on location. By integrating these innovative solutions, this platform bridges the gap between conventional agricultural techniques and contemporary technology, equipping farmers with the resources and expertise essential for advancing productivity and sustainability. The difficulty with dynamic and heterogeneous natured edge computing environments is resource provisioning. Reinforcement Learning (RL) can be promising to solve the problems of resource allocation under conditions of dynamics and complexity. This research work presents a novel DDPG-based (Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient) approach for optimizing the dynamics of resource allocation in edge computing environments by exploiting the CRAWDAD KAIST-WIBRO dataset for the proposed model. This approach implements a neural network that learns the optimal policies of allocations with dynamism towards new changes in workloads and resource availabilities. In order to test the performance of this method, conducted several simulations over real-world workload and resource data, mapping the parameters like rewards and variation in episodes. The simulation results indicate that proposed approach performs superior compared to traditional heuristic-based approaches as well as other RL algorithms for resource usage, response time, and energy efficiency. This proposed approach permits optimized resource utilization along with quality of service, of paramount importance in executing complex and demanding applications at the edge computing environment. © 2025 IEEE.

This article describes the architecture of software services that provide registration of small boat data to build maritime safety. The proposed system architecture which so-called SIMKAPEL aims to support small boat registration for maritime safety. It is developed from a conventional service-oriented architecture (SOA) with an open standard for data interoperability between elements. The goal of this research is to implement and evaluate the proposed architecture to support small boat registration and e-certification. Several parts of the architecture have been implemented as a platform that provides core services and data sources to be used by Ministry of Transportation, Directorate General of Sea Transportation, and other government agencies. Finally, the proposed SIMKAPEL platform with the SOA architecture is evaluated for its benefits to users through the expert opinion survey to measure its efficiency. The analysis results showed that SOA-based SIMKAPEL is feasible to use as a boat e-certification system. Furthermore, experiment results provide three parameters (e.g., maritime safety, namely, cargo/passengers, boat safety facilities, and maritime safety systems) with efficiency values of 42%, 46%, and 42%, respectively. The parameter with the highest efficiency shows a big effect on the level of safety of the boat and passengers. Thus, the parameters that need to be prioritized and need boat owners’ attention are cargo/passenger, boat safety equipment, and maritime safety system. © 2023, The Author(s).

In offshore aquaculture operations, personnel equipped with diving gear are often necessary to inspect the underwater net cages for damage, particularly on the sea floor. This manual inspection process is time-consuming and complex. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a computer vision solution for identifying damage in underwater net cages to address the inefficiencies and challenges of traditional manual inspections. The proposed scheme utilizes a high-performance multi-branch computational architecture designed based on ShuffleNet architecture to detect net cage damage more efficiently. Experimental results demonstrate that this work performs well on the ImageNet ILSVRC-2010 dataset and achieves an accuracy of 88.54% in underwater net damage detection. © 2024 IEEE.

The creation of digital content and the easy accessibility of information have led to a surge in academic and textual plagiarism. Plagiarism detection in multiple languages is essential to maintain the integrity of academic and literary works. In the context of the Urdu language, there is a growing need for effective plagiarism detection methods that are tailored to its unique linguistic characteristics. Existing Urdu plagiarism detection tools often rely on external sources or lack robustness in handling intrinsic forms of plagiarism, where the copied content is slightly modified or paraphrased. This research aims to bridge this gap by developing an intrinsic plagiarism detection system for the Urdu language, using a combination of machine learning, ensemble learning and Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP). Furthermore, to train and evaluate our plagiarism detection models, we manually curate a corpus comprising a substantial collection of 1807 documents in Urdu. This corpus forms the foundation of our research, enabling us to develop and fine-tune our detection algorithms to effectively identify instances of intrinsic plagiarism in Urdu text. To comprehensively assess the unique stylistic fingerprints of documents, we employ a diverse set of word based stylometry features. This multifaceted approach enhances our ability to pinpoint instances of plagiarism in a robust manner. This research contributes to the ongoing efforts to combat plagiarism and uphold the integrity of written content, particularly in the context of the Urdu language, while also showcasing the effectiveness of different word based stylometry features in addressing this critical issue. © 2023 IEEE.
