This study addresses the deficiencies in the assumptions of the results in Chen and Yang, 2017 [1] due to the lack of uniformity. We first show the missing hypothesis by presenting a counterexample. Then we prove why they are wrong in that form and show the errors in the proof of the main result of [1]. Next, we compare the assumptions and related results of [1] with similar works in the literature. Lastly, we give suggestions to complement the shortcomings of the hypotheses and thus correct them. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

This study examines the significant influence of emotional states on individuals, recognizing that people are often confronted with numerous challenges and problems in their lives. Such challenges can give rise to feelings of despair and tension, especially in those who struggle to manage them effectively. Depression, which is not just limited to adults, can also have a significant impact on children who may not fully grasp their socio-economic conditions. One of the serious consequences of unresolved emotional distress, particularly depression, is an elevated risk of suicide. Within this framework, facial recognition technology presents itself as a powerful instrument for identifying human emotions. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of facial recognition systems in detecting indicators of depression. Using the YOLOv5 algorithm and comparing it with its precursors, YOLOv4 and YOLOv7, the research conducts a simulation experiment to examine the ability of the system to precisely interpret a range of emotional states, including happiness, sadness, and anger. The research findings suggest that the YOLO algorithm, particularly in its most recent versions, displays exceptional precision in identifying and classifying intricate facial expressions, thus showcasing its potential as a beneficial device in mental health evaluations. © 2023 IEEE.

Nowadays, social media serves as a platform for sharing and receiving information. One indicator of the importance of information is its virality. Virality is an interesting topic in the world of Natural Language Processing (NLP), including the prediction of virality and identifying features that influence it. Research in this area has utilized Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) models and yielded promising results. Previous studies aimed to predict virality based on specific features. This research aims to predict virality by combining the abilities of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and BERT models. The BERT model transforms textual data into numerical and adds new features, while the CNN model excels in numerical classification. data for this study is sourced from Twitter and in Indonesian language. The proposed model demonstrates improvements compared to the model from previous research. Specifically, it shows a 7.1% increase in precision, a 9.9% increase in recall, a 3.8% increase in accuracy, and an 8.1% increase in F1-Score compared to the previous model. These findings contribute to future research on similar topics, particularly in leveraging multiple models for prediction tasks. Overall, the study provides insights into effectively utilizing the strengths of various models and combining them in prediction tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

Mental health is one of the states of well-being which enables people to cope with various things in everyday life. Despite that, mental health is often overlooked, driving the emergence of numerous mental disorders on people. Along the presence of technological advancements, there is serious game which is utilized to entertain and achieve non-game goals related to real-life issues. Due to that, serious game can be leveraged as a media put into health sectors, particularly in presenting fun therapy to people diagnosed with mental disorders. This research presents systematic literature review on publications discussing the utilization of serious game in providing fun therapy for people with mental disorders, focusing on matters like the mental disorders emphasized within, the game elements presented in each publication, and ways to evaluate the serious game. The result indicates overall well-received responses regarding the usage of serious game in serving the purpose, albeit with different ways on evaluation process based on the mental disorders each publication addressed for. © 2024 IEEE.

Emotionally-aware chatbots are chatbots that are equipped with emotional intelligence. Based on the literature, using emotional elements in chatbots can improve user engagement and believability factors. This study attempts to make a novel contribution by empirically evaluating the impact of emotion recognition models on the believability factor of chatbots. This study examines the impact of the emotions model and avatar on chatbot interactions through three implementations. Thirty-one participants volunteered to evaluate emotionally aware chatbots. The participants evaluated the interaction with the chatbot using the Godspeed Questionnaire Series (GQS). The questionnaire results are utilized to measure the effect of the emotions model on the chatbot's believability factor. The evaluation results of the experiment show that implementing the emotion recognition model on the chatbot increases its believability factors. On average, the believability measures in interaction type B (with an emotion model) are enhanced 1.71 times compared to interaction type A (a basic model). Furthermore, the believability measures in interaction type C (with an emotion model and an avatar) are enhanced 2 times more than in interaction type A (a basic model). The believability factor is also heightened by integrating a chatbot avatar into the interaction system. Using avatars in chatbots increases the believability variables of the system by 1.17 times if compared with not using avatars. © 2023 IEEE.

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder caused by a dysfunction in insulin secretion which leads to an increase in blood sugar levels in the body. The disease has dangerous risks for those who suffer from it, as it can lead to various complications and even death. Because of the dangerous risks associated with diabetes, early detection of the disease is important. Machine learning can help the process of diagnosing diabetes quickly and accurately because of its ability to learn and process data independently. The goal of this research is to develop a diabetes detection system using ensemble learning with a soft voting classifier. In predicting diabetes, this research uses 14 types of algorithms with the help of the PyCaret library, including extra trees classifier, random forest, light gradient boosting, machine, gradient boosting classifier, decision tree, adaboost classifier, logistic regression, linear discriminant analysis, k-neighbors classifier, quadratic discriminant analysis, naive bayes, support vector machine-linear kernel, dummy classifier, and ridge classifier. From the evaluation process, the five best algorithms are chosen with an accuracy level of 91.3%, 91.3%, 89.5%, 92.2% and 85.3 % These five algorithms are then blended using ensemble learning with a soft voting classifier. The accuracy produced by the soft voting classifier method is higher than using a single classifier, at 97.3%. © 2023 IEEE.

Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) is a prominent web exploit that continues to pose significant security risks, even on highly ranked websites. This research focuses on identifying the underlying vulnerability, understanding the techniques employed, and proposing effective preventive measures. The hybrid method which is systematic report review method and lab-based scenarios method is conducted to identify CSRF exploitation and prevention mechanisms. Using a scenario-based testing approach, this study investigated the cause and effect of CSRF attacks, uncovering numerous techniques for exploiting this vulnerability. Based on the report review, 35 CSRF vulnerability reports from the Hacker one Bug Bounty Platform are analyzed. The result shows there is a lack of awareness and implementation of primary defenses, resulting in a high violation of end-user data integrity. The result also extensively describes some of the profound causes and effects of CSRF attacks and uncovers a broad range of techniques for exploiting this vulnerability. Furthermore, this study provides actionable recommendations to enhance system security and raise awareness among developers and users. The findings from this research serve as a valuable resource for improving security practices and mitigating CSRF attacks. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

According to research by the world health organization (WHO), approximately 0.63% of children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD commonly emerges during childhood and persists through adolescence and adulthood. Early detection of ASD is crucial as it can lead to effective interventions and improved outcomes. Machine learning and deep learning techniques have gained significant recognition for their efficacy in various fields including biomedicine and medicine. These models offer valuable tools for data interpretation in clinical diagnostics and decision-making processes. Consequently, researchers emphasize the utility of both machine learning and deep learning methods for disease screening. This study aims to leverage both machine learning and deep learning techniques to classify ASD cases using a dataset sourced from the UCI repository. The dataset encompasses pediatric cases. The classification task employed k-nearest neighbors' algorithm (k-NN), support vector machine (SVM), and convolutional neural network (CNN). Among these, CNN outperformed SVM and k-NN, achieving a remarkable accuracy of 99.71%. © 2023 IEEE.

Brain CT report generation is significant to aid physicians in diagnosing cranial diseases. Recent studies concentrate on handling the consistency between visual and textual pathological features to improve the coherence of report. However, there exist some challenges: 1) Redundant visual representing: Massive irrelevant areas in 3D scans distract models from representing salient visual contexts. 2) Shifted semantic representing: Limited medical corpus causes difficulties for models to transfer the learned textual representations to generative layers. This study introduces a Pathological Clue-driven Representation Learning (PCRL) model to build cross-modal representations based on pathological clues and naturally adapt them for accurate report generation. Specifically, we construct pathological clues from perspectives of segmented regions, pathological entities, and report themes, to fully grasp visual pathological patterns and learn cross-modal feature representations. To adapt the representations for the text generation task, we bridge the gap between representation learning and report generation by using a unified large language model (LLM) with task-tailored instructions. These crafted instructions enable the LLM to be flexibly fine-tuned across tasks and smoothly transfer the semantic representation for report generation. Experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms previous methods and achieves SoTA performance. The ability to identify cancer at an early stage is critical to increase the likelihood of effective treatment or stopping the progression of the disease in the body. Lung cancer is one of the most common deadly diseases and quickly kills the patient. The number of deaths caused by lung cancer surpasses those of colon, rectal, breast, and prostate cancers combined. Unfortunately, only two percent of patients with advanced lung cancer survive for five years or more. However, the survival rates are better, with 49 % of the patients surviving for five years or more, if the disease is detected early. On the other hand, in this modern era, machine learning has become one of the most reliable tools in the world for healthcare, as machine learning can learn from the data obtained and process the data that will later be used to help complete certain tasks. Therefore, in this research, machine learning or especially classification algorithms such as K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest, Logistic Regression, and XGBoost are used to identify three main symptoms that serve as markers for early detection of lung cancer. Determining the three main symptoms is done by combining the results of the feature importance score on each model using the rank-averaging method. The result is an average ranking of each feature based on its combined importance with an accuracy of 93.5 %. © 2023 IEEE.
