Applications designed utilizing Microservices Architecture (MSA) provide the desirable trait of good maintainability. To ensure optimal maintainability, it is important to provide services that are suitable and adhere to prescribed rules. Multiple aspects must be taken into account while designing services to ensure optimal maintainability. The objective of this study is to examine the elements that impact the capacity to sustain and improve maintainability in service design, ultimately resulting in an application that possesses strong maintainability. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) will be utilized to identify variables and strategies for their enhancement, by examining pertinent publications on the subject. After examining 45 publications, the study discovered 8 elements and 14 solutions that can enhance the highlighted parameters throughout the services design process. The outcomes of this systematic literature review (SLR) are anticipated to give valuable insights to application developers, empowering them to generate service designs that exhibit commendable maintainability for the developed applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Addressing multiple criteria and parameter issues in computer modelling presents a significant challenge. Several factors including data types, parameter behaviours, and purposes, must be taken into account to enhance computer modelling capability;particularly in evaluation cases. Through the utilization of a multi-criteria and method approach, a decision model was effectively developed to assess a case of environmental sustainability level of a building. One method operated in the study is the curve method for handling membership function form in realizing fuzzy logic. This innovative model demonstrates superior performance. It achieves an impressive accuracy rate of 96%, surpassing the previous model that employed a trapezoidal approach to describe fuzzy membership functions hy 1%. © 2023 IEEE.

Cancer, also known as malignant neoplasm, is a complex and potentially fatal disease characterized by uncontrolled and abnormal cell growth in the body. The main problems with microarray cancer studies are the high curse of dimensionality and small sample size caused by redundant and irrelevant genes. To deal with the number of features that exceed the amount of data, this research purposed double filtering method Lasso-GA, Lasso is used to select the features based on feature correlation while Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize the most important features with accuracy traditional machine learning as its fitness function. The results show how effective the suggested method is;in breast cancer, the linear SVC model achieves excellent accuracy (0.93), precision (0.94), recall (0.94), and F1 score (0.94), while in lung cancer, the linear SVC, random forest, and logistic regression models perform well (accuracy: 0.95, precision: 0.92, recall: 1, F1 score: 0.95). Logistic regression is the most effective method for bladder cancer, with an accuracy of 0.82, precision of 0.77, recall of 1, and F1 score of 0.87. © 2023 IEEE.

Analyzing the impact of fuel price increases in Indonesia is crucial for making informed strategic decisions. This paper presents a smart fuzzy decision model aimed at predicting changes in household spending in response to fuel price fluctuations. The model utilizes fuzzy logic as its main method, enabling it to capture the intricate relationships between household spending and fuel prices. In addition, the proposed model incorporates various factors that can potentially influence household spending. By simulating prediction results under different fuel price increments ranging from 0% to 30%, the model provides valuable insights for policymaking concerning fuel pricing and offers strategies to mitigate the impact of fuel price fluctuations on household welfare. © 2023 IEEE.

The agricultural activities in the Vocational School of Agricultural Engineering (ESTVA) in Timor-Leste requires large quantities of water with high availability for the production and cultivation of plants. However, the crop results sometimes decrease due to challenges problem faced by the management of the water resources. This study aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT) based automatic control system to control water supply and maintain soil moisture conditions effectively. The evaluation of manual and automatic irrigation systems during the 21 days trial shows that the automatic system provides stable utilization of water with watering frequency of 274 occurs only in 12 days, with an amount of total watering of 35.3 L. Meanwhile, the manual system uses up to 49.8 L of water, which is 14.5 L more than the water spent by the automatic system. The results of the evaluation also indicate that automatic system obtains the average moisture value of 509 with a standard deviation of 63, which is smaller than the manual system that obtains an average moisture value of 559 and a significant standard deviation of 126. From these results, the automatic system is more effective in maintaining the soil moisture level and yet requires less water compared to the manual watering system. Furthermore, the quality and productivity of the growth of mustard seedlings with automatic system prove that the seeds are more stable and feasible to continue transplanting since the automatic system produces 12 more mustard trees compared to the manual system. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Recent advances in Large Language Models (LLMs) have been changing the paradigm of Recommender Systems (RS). However, when items in the recommendation scenarios contain rich textual information, such as product descriptions in online shopping or news headlines on social media, LLMs require longer texts to comprehensively depict the historical user behavior sequence. This poses significant challenges to LLM-based recommenders, such as over-length limitations, extensive time and space overheads, and suboptimal model performance. To this end, in this paper, we design a novel framework for harnessing Large Language Models for Text-Rich Sequential Recommendation (LLM-TRSR). Specifically, we first propose to segment the user historical behaviors and subsequently employ an LLM-based summarizer for summarizing these user behavior blocks. Particularly, drawing inspiration from the successful application of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) models in user modeling, we introduce two unique summarization techniques in this paper, respectively hierarchical summarization and recurrent summarization. Then, we construct a prompt text encompassing the user preference summary, recent user interactions, and candidate item information into an LLM-based recommender, which is subsequently fine-tuned using Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) techniques to yield our final recommendation model. We also use Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) for Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT). We conduct experiments on two public datasets, and the results clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. © 2024 ACM.

Electrical energy is one of the most important human needs. Almost all human work requires electrical energy. Lack of electricity may hinder human activities. Therefore, it is important to maintain the availability of the electrical energy. This paper explores a way to reduce waste of electricity use through the implementation of the Internet of things (IoT). We introduce an IoT system that expands the function of the internet that allows us to control household appliances properly and efficiently, enabling us to monitor the cost of usage every month. The proposed system is implemented at the Campus Academy computer Management and Informatics (AMKI) Ketapang to control and monitor lights in the computer Laboratory and Terrace Campus. This system utilizes Raspberry Pi 3, LDR sensors, Relays, and software like PHP and Raspbian Linux. The insurance industry faces a significant challenge concerning insurance claims, particularly due to the prevalence of fraudulent insurance claims. To address this issue, one potential solution is the implementation of a computer-based decision model. This research presents a fuzzy decision model based on object-oriented method development. The study involves seven stages (i.e. case analyzing, parameter analyzing, objects-parameters linking, detail object relation constructing, parameter exchange analyzing, OOFDM constructing, and model verifying and validating), with an object-oriented approach serving as the foundational method for constructing the model, and fuzzy logic as the primary method for assessing claim risks in proposing the best decision. The model has the capability to simulate insurance claims and offers objective decisions based on 19,611 claims data, categorizing them into two decision categories: acceptance and pending. © 2023 IEEE.

The idea of the traditional histogram shifting technique is to hide a message within the cover-image pixel distribution. However, the embedding capacity is limited by the peak point occurrences. To solve this problem, many reversible data hiding (RDH) techniques are developed to combine pixel prediction and histogram shifting to increase the embedding payload. In this paper, a RDH scheme based on chessboard prediction and pixel partitioning is proposed for enhancing the hiding payload. Pixel partitioning is used to separate a pixel into two parts: most significant bit and least significant bit. Then, the chessboard predictor is adopted to generate prediction errors and separate the pixels. Thereafter, histogram shifting is applied to embed the secret messages into prediction errors. Due to the high similarity of adjacent pixels in an image, the generated prediction errors are highly close to zero, resulting in a large embedding space. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method has superior performance in embedding capacity with acceptable image visual quality compared to existing schemes since it adopts the adaptive adjustment strategy to achieve this improved balance. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Containerization has become a popular approach in application development in applications development and deployment, many benefits we can get such as improved scalability, portability, and resource efficiency. Container-based applications, utilizing technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, have transformed the packaging, deployment, and management of software from the desktop environment to the cloud platform. In this context, software metrics approach plays a good role in evaluating the characteristics and performance of container-based applications, ensuring that developers and operators are on the same page. This article explores the importance of software metrics in optimizing the software lifecycle of container-based applications, addressing the unique challenges they present, and highlighting the potential benefits of leveraging metrics to improve performance and efficiency. Our finding Performance Metrics and Availability Metrics is the most metrics that the most measure by applications owner, relevant studies and industry practices, this study aims to provide insights and recommendations to effectively measure and optimize region-based software systems. © 2023 IEEE.
