The presence of noise in images is one of the challenges that complicate image processing. Numerous methods have been proposed to mitigate the impact of noise on denoising image performance. However, the application of CNN for denoising image performance optimization in the presence of noise is still a new area of research. In this paper, the configuration of kernel size and number of layers will be investigated in image denoising using CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks), specifically, in U-Net architecture. The images used are from BSD500 which consists of 500 natural images. Then, the hyperparameters will be evaluated in terms of many factors, such as mean absolute error (MAE) score and model fit to show its influence. The results show that the average score for MAE is 0.11 based on the model and variation of both kernel size and layer size, with the highest score found at kernel size=2 and layer size=64. The results show that to get a fit model, the experience should use epoch number 10. It shows that the influence of kernel size has a negative influence on MAE whereas layer size has a beneficial effect on model fit. However, there is an optimal point beyond which denoising results can decrease. To achieve better results, future researchers can compare it with other denoising models to ensure our findings. © 2023 IEEE.

Trust plays an essential role in an individual's decision-making. Traditional trust prediction models rely on pairwise correlations to infer potential relationships between users. However, in the real world, interactions between users are usually complicated rather than pairwise only. Hypergraphs offer a flexible approach to modeling these complex high-order correlations (not just pairwise connections), since hypergraphs can leverage hyperedeges to link more than two nodes. However, most hypergraph-based methods are generic and cannot be well applied to the trust prediction task. In this paper, we propose an Adaptive Hypergraph Network for Trust Prediction (AHNTP), a novel approach that improves trust prediction accuracy by using higher-order correlations. AHNTP utilizes Motif-based PageRank to capture high-order social influence information. In addition, it constructs hypergroups from both node-level and structure-level attributes to incorporate complex correlation information. Furthermore, AHNTP leverages adaptive hypergraph Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) layers and multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) to generate comprehensive user embeddings, facilitating trust relationship prediction. To enhance model generalization and robustness, we introduce a novel supervised contrastive learning loss for optimization. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of our model over the state-of-the-art approaches in terms of trust prediction accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Modern retail businesses face a significant challenge with the inefficiency of manually changing price labels on shelves. This manual process not only consumes valuable time and resources but also increases the likelihood of errors, leading to potential inaccuracies in pricing and a less streamlined shopping experience for customers. The proposed solution is the implementation of an Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system that automatically displays the prices of goods on retail business shelves. This system connects a website (front end and back end) to e-paper via a Wi-Fi network and microcontroller, allowing retail business owners to update prices more easily. Additionally, buyers can search for desired items through the website. The results are the time to send data from the website to the e-paper, namely, to know the performance of the e-paper used. The average time required from 10 attempts to send data from the website to the e-paper is 20.935 seconds. Since the data is connected to the server and will be updated automatically, using this system will be more efficient than manually changing the price label, although it takes time to transfer data from the website to the e-paper. © 2024 IEEE.

Users are able to connect with one another via web-based internet technologies through social media platforms like Twitter. On these platforms, hate speech has become a troubling problem, when people or groups are targeted because of characteristics like color, ethnicity, gender, nationality, religion, or organization. Such information is spreading quickly as a result of the practice of using hate speech to gain fast notoriety. 80% of cybercrime prosecutions in Indonesia involve hate speech and defamation on social media, despite the fact that there are regulations like the UU ITE Law, Chapter 28, Number 2, that forbid inciting hatred or enmity on the basis of race, religion, or ethnicity. This research paper explores a novel approach to audio-based toxic language classification in the Indonesian language, leveraging key techniques including Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM), speech recognition, and natural language processing. The study focuses on identifying toxic language using a balanced dataset of 5000 entries, equally divided between toxic and non-toxic categories. This dataset was compiled from diverse sources such as NusaCrowd, Kaggle, and others, and was subsequently cleansed of emojis and symbols to maintain a plain text environment. Utilizing audio-based content analysis, the methodology involved the transcription and classification of audio data, yielding an accuracy of 95.2%, precision of 96.4%, recall of 93.2% and F1 score of 94.8% in the detection of toxic speech. The implications of this research extend beyond the academic sphere of toxic language detection, holding significant real-world application potential in areas such as content moderation for Indonesian social media platforms and toxic language detection in customer service interactions. Recently, deep neural networks have triumphed over a large variety of human activity recognition (HAR) applications on resource-constrained mobile devices. However, most existing works are static and ignore the fact that the computational budget usually changes drastically across various devices, which prevent real-world HAR deployment. It still remains a major challenge: how to adaptively and instantly tradeoff accuracy and latency at runtime for on-device activity inference using time series sensor data? To address this issue, this article introduces a new collaborative learning scheme by training a set of subnetworks executed at varying network widths when fueled with different sensor input resolutions as data augmentation, which can instantly switch on-the-fly at different width-resolution configurations for flexible and dynamic activity inference under varying resource budgets. Particularly, it offers a promising performance-boosting solution by utilizing self-distillation to transfer the unique knowledge among multiple width-resolution configuration, which can capture stronger feature representations for activity recognition. Extensive experiments and ablation studies on three public HAR benchmark datasets validate the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach. A real implementation is evaluated on a mobile device. This discovery opens up the possibility to directly access accuracy-latency spectrum of deep learning models in versatile real-world HAR deployments. © 2020 IEEE.

This research delves into the precise classification of handwritten numerical data using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model. A pivotal preprocessing step, namely resizing the dataset images to a consistent dimension, is implemented. This preprocessing enhancement contributes significantly to achieving an impressive classification accuracy of 89.22%. By standardizing image sizes, this crucial preprocessing step ensures uniformity across the dataset, empowering the CNN model to effectively categorize diverse handwritten numbers within the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) Indonesia dataset in 2004. The study underscores the substantial impact of this preprocessing technique in facilitating the CNN model's robust performance, showcasing its potential in interpreting intricate numerical or weather-related information with a notable accuracy rate of 89.22%. © 2023 IEEE.

Industrial process plants use emergency shutdown valves(ESDVs)as safety barriers to protect against hazardous events,bringing the plant to a safe state when potential danger is *** ESDVs are used extensively in offshore oil and gas processing plants and have been mandated in the design of such systems from national and international standards and *** paper has used actual ESDV operating data from four mid/late life oil and gas production platforms in the North Sea to research operational relationships that are of interest to those responsible for the technical management and operation of *** first of the two relationships is between the closure time(CT)of the ESDV and the time it remains in the open position,prior to the close *** has been hypothesised that the CT of the ESDV is affected by the length of time that it has been open prior to being closed(Time since the last stroke).In addition to the general analysis of the data series,two sub-categories were created to further investigate this possible relationship for CT and these are“above mean”and“below mean”.The correlations(Pearson's based)resulting from this analysis are in the“weak”and“very weak”*** second relationship investigated was the effect of very frequent closures to assess if this improves the *** operational records for six subjects were analysed to find closures that occurred within a 24 h period of each ***,no discriminating trend was apparent where CT was impacted positively or negatively by the frequent closure *** was concluded that the variance of ESDV closure time cannot be influenced by the technical management of the ESDV in terms of scheduling the operation of the ESDV.
