Diabetes is a metabolic disorder caused by a dysfunction in insulin secretion which leads to an increase in blood sugar levels in the body. The disease has dangerous risks for those who suffer from it, as it can lead to various complications and even death. Because of the dangerous risks associated with diabetes, early detection of the disease is important. Machine learning can help the process of diagnosing diabetes quickly and accurately because of its ability to learn and process data independently. The goal of this research is to develop a diabetes detection system using ensemble learning with a soft voting classifier. In predicting diabetes, this research uses 14 types of algorithms with the help of the PyCaret library, including extra trees classifier, random forest, light gradient boosting, machine, gradient boosting classifier, decision tree, adaboost classifier, logistic regression, linear discriminant analysis, k-neighbors classifier, quadratic discriminant analysis, naive bayes, support vector machine-linear kernel, dummy classifier, and ridge classifier. From the evaluation process, the five best algorithms are chosen with an accuracy level of 91.3%, 91.3%, 89.5%, 92.2% and 85.3 % These five algorithms are then blended using ensemble learning with a soft voting classifier. The accuracy produced by the soft voting classifier method is higher than using a single classifier, at 97.3%. © 2023 IEEE.

Sarcasm, a sort of sentiment characterized by a disparity between the apparent and intended meanings of the text, is a key component of sentiment analysis, opinion extraction, and social media analytics. However, sarcasm detection in Bangla has not received sufficient research attention yet. Moreover, there hasn't been a significant amount of study done comparing traditional and contextual word embeddings for the Bengali language. This study aims to address this gap by comparing traditional embedding by using the Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit - BiGRU model and contextual embedding by using Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers - BERT for sarcasm detection in Bangla. The collection of the dataset of Bangla text was from social media platforms, containing labelled instances - whether it provides sarcasm or non-sarcasm. Pre-trained word embeddings i.e. GloVe and FastText are used as traditional embedding for this study. By using metrics like precision, recall and F1-score, the performances for both models have been obtained. When the two traditional word embedding approaches are compared, GloVe embedding with Bi-GRU has outperformed FastText embedding with a macro-averaged F1 score of 0.9395. On the other hand, contextual word embedding using BERT has outperformed both the traditional approaches having a better macro-averaged F1 score of 0.9572 and greater class-wise performance as compared with traditional embedding for both non-sarcastic (96%) and sarcastic (96%) text detection. In our findings, contextual word embedding i.e. BERT has performed better as compared with the two traditional word embeddings for this specific Bangla sarcasm detection binary classification task. © 2023 IEEE.

The ability to identify cancer at an early stage is critical to increase the likelihood of effective treatment or stopping the progression of the disease in the body. Lung cancer is one of the most common deadly diseases and quickly kills the patient. The number of deaths caused by lung cancer surpasses those of colon, rectal, breast, and prostate cancers combined. Unfortunately, only two percent of patients with advanced lung cancer survive for five years or more. However, the survival rates are better, with 49 % of the patients surviving for five years or more, if the disease is detected early. On the other hand, in this modern era, machine learning has become one of the most reliable tools in the world for healthcare, as machine learning can learn from the data obtained and process the data that will later be used to help complete certain tasks. Therefore, in this research, machine learning or especially classification algorithms such as K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest, Logistic Regression, and XGBoost are used to identify three main symptoms that serve as markers for early detection of lung cancer. Determining the three main symptoms is done by combining the results of the feature importance score on each model using the rank-averaging method. The result is an average ranking of each feature based on its combined importance with an accuracy of 93.5 %. © 2023 IEEE.

Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by significant challenges in social interaction,communication,and repetitive *** and precise ASD detection is crucial,particularly in regions with limited diagnostic resources like *** study aims to conduct an extensive comparative analysis of various machine learning classifiers for ASD detection using facial images to identify an accurate and cost-effective solution tailored to the local *** research involves experimentation with VGG16 and MobileNet models,exploring different batch sizes,optimizers,and learning rate *** addition,the“Orange”machine learning tool is employed to evaluate classifier performance and automated image processing capabilities are utilized within the *** findings unequivocally establish VGG16 as the most effective classifier with a 5-fold cross-validation ***,VGG16,with a batch size of 2 and the Adam optimizer,trained for 100 epochs,achieves a remarkable validation accuracy of 99% and a testing accuracy of 87%.Furthermore,the model achieves an F1 score of 88%,precision of 85%,and recall of 90% on test *** validate the practical applicability of the VGG16 model with 5-fold cross-validation,the study conducts further testing on a dataset sourced fromautism centers in Pakistan,resulting in an accuracy rate of 85%.This reaffirms the model’s suitability for real-world ASD *** research offers valuable insights into classifier performance,emphasizing the potential of machine learning to deliver precise and accessible ASD diagnoses via facial image analysis.

Medication errors threaten patient safety considerably, underscoring the necessity for enhanced detection and prevention techniques. A prevalent classification system in hospitals relies on the standard practice of medication administration known as the Five Rights (5R). This study seeks to develop an NLP-based tool designed to expand 5R error categorization coverage and alleviate the workload of medical professionals. The proposed method focuses on Thai medical text, incorporating Thai and English vocabulary. In this investigation, we developed a supervised learning classification framework using the Universal Sentence Encoder (USE) for sentence embedding, followed by an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for model training. Additionally, we explored a zero-shot classification model employing pre-trained Large Language Models (PLMs). Our findings reveal that the supervised learning classification model provides the most favorable performance, albeit with the limitation of reliance on labeled datasets, which can be resource intensive. Conversely, the zero-shot classification framework's performance is less optimal. However, future advancements in Thai medical PLMs may improve efficacy and present a viable alternative for medical data analysis without dependence on labeled datasets. This initiative lays the groundwork for potential future applications and advantages within Thailand's medical domain. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent times, blockchain has evolved the security of traditional supply chain systems. Different issues of supply chain management like flexibility and reliability can be easily addressed using blockchain. Meat Packing Industry involves the complete process of processing, packaging and supplying the meat and its products throughout the world for human consumption. The animals used for the meat supply chain include pigs, sheep, cattle etc. Due to the enormous increase in the number of meat-eaters worldwide, its packing and timely supply are of utmost importance. The meat packing industry has revolutionized a lot by using the latest supply chain methods based on new technologies like blockchain. These include adulteration, long-term delays leading to spoilage of the product, mixing of other similar products which are lower in price etc. All these issues can be easily handled by using blockchain and IoT for meat supply chain management. Using these technologies, the challenges ranging from timely transportation of good quality meat to the best quality meat delivered to the customer can be easily addressed. In this paper, an effective blockchain and IoT-based model has been proposed which will counter the above challenges and improve the reliability and security factor. © 2024 IEEE.

Improving patient-centered care necessitates accurate documentation of care preferences, a crucial aspect often underrepresented in administrative data. Most studies apply care documentation to specific patient populations, rather than the more appropriately broad population of ‘seriously ill’ patients. This study addresses this gap, first by matching decedent patients to non-decedent counterparts by using propensity score matching, accounting for important variables like age, gender, primary diagnoses, and patient co-morbidities, and then by leveraging transformer-based machine learning models, exhibiting an improvement over traditional keyword-based search methods. We trained and fine-tuned Bio_ClinicalBERT and ClinicalLongformer models on a large dataset of patient discharge summaries, enhancing their signal-to-noise ratio by focusing on key textual aspects, thereby capturing contextually nuanced mentions of care preference documentation. These models demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity compared to industry-standard keyword-search methods, proving adept at interpreting complex clinical concepts. This study highlights the potential of transformer-based models specifically trained for clinical domain tasks. Our findings not only contribute to enhancing end-of-life communication and aligning treatment with patients’ care objectives but also pave the way for future research in this promising domain, with potential implications for improving patient care quality. ©2024 IEEE.

Colored Petri nets (CPNs) provide descriptions of the concurrent behaviors for software and hardware. Model checking based on CPNs is an effective method to simulate and verify the concurrent behavior in system design. However, the model-checking method traverses the full state space, which suffers from the state-space explosion problem. A reduced state-space generation method related to the property of concurrent systems is proposed. Specifically, we extend CPNs to define a property-related model (CPN-PR) and give a property-related analysis method whose results can be used to generate the CPN-PR model. A reduced state-space generation method is developed based on enabled binding element filtering rules. The stutter trace equivalence between the state spaces of CPN and CPN-PR has been proven by showing that the reduced state space may not change the model-checking result. A comparison experiment is conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

Virtual Reality (VR) technology is a computer simulation system that allows the creation and experience of virtual worlds. Because of its immersive, interactive, and realistic characteristics, VR is increasingly useful in educational contexts. However, due to the limitation of communication technology, problems such as high latency and vertigo of VR gradually appear in the teaching process, greatly affecting the learning experience of learners. 5G's technical advantages with high speed, low latency, and large capacity can provide the possibility for VR to better serve teaching practice activities. Thus, based on the unique advantages of 5G, this paper describes the virtual reality experiment (VRE) of the 5G service convergence course based on 5G+VR. Combined with our school's training plan for the communication major, this paper proposes the VRE teaching model. According to the results of the learning effect and learning process evaluation, the VRE teaching model can effectively improve students' enthusiasm and initiative in learning, thereby promoting the cultivation of communication professionals. © 2023 IEEE.

The Stemming Process is used to get the base word by removing the word affixes. The purpose of this study is to improve the algorithm in previous research by incorporating the Stemming Process into a morphophonemic approach for language processing based on rules (Rule Based) which is named AM Sundanese Stemmer (AMS). The AM Sundanese stemmer algorithm will utilize morpheme information to perform stemming on Sundanese words and analyze the phonemes in a word to identify the morphemes therein contained. The experimental process was carried out with 11,885 existing data and a sample of 546 words were taken to be stemmed. The test was carried out by comparing the algorithms of Nazief and Adriani, UG 18 and AMS. The test results showed that the AMS Algorithm was better than the Nazief Andriani Algorithm and the UG18 Algorithm with a high F-1 score of 87.52% and the comparison of the execution time of the AMS Stemmer Algorithm was 0.041403 seconds faster than the Nazief Andriani and UG 18 Algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.
