This paper delves into an integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system bolstered by a simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (STAR-RIS). Within this system, a base station (BS) is equipped with communication and radar capabilities, enabling it to communicate with ground terminals (GTs) and concurrently probe for echo signals from a target of interest. Moreover, to manage interference and improve communication quality, the rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) scheme is incorporated into the system. The signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) of the received sensing echo signals is a measure of sensing performance. We formulate a joint optimization problem of common rates, transmit beamforming at the BS, and passive beamforming vectors of the STAR-RIS. The objective is to maximize sensing SINR while guaranteeing the communication rate requirements for each GT. We present an iterative algorithm to address the non-convex problem by invoking Dinkelbach’s transform, semidefinite relaxation (SDR), majorization-minimization, and sequential rank-one constraint relaxation (SROCR) theories. Simulation results manifest that the performance of the studied ISAC network enhanced by the STAR-RIS and RSMA surpasses other benchmarks considerably. The results evidently indicate the superior performance improvement of the ISAC system with the proposed RSMA-based transmission strategy design and the dynamic optimization of both transmission and reflection beamforming at STAR-RIS. © 2015 IEEE.

Alleviating Performance Disparity in Adversarial Spatiotemporal Graph Learning Under Zero-Inflated Distribution

Spatiotemporal Graph Learning (SGL) under Zero-Inflated Distribution (ZID) is crucial for urban risk management tasks, including crime prediction and traffic accident profiling. However, SGL models are vulnerable to adversarial attacks, compromising their practical utility. While adversarial training (AT) has been widely used to bolster model robustness, our study finds that traditional AT exacerbates performance disparities between majority and minority classes under ZID, potentially leading to irreparable losses due to underreporting critical risk events. In this paper, we first demonstrate the smaller top-k gradients and lower separability of minority class are key factors contributing to this disparity. To address these issues, we propose MinGRE, a framework for Minority Class Gradients and Representations Enhancement. MinGRE employs a multi-dimensional attention mechanism to reweight spatiotemporal gradients, minimizing the gradient distribution discrepancies across classes. Additionally, we introduce an uncertainty-guided contrastive loss to improve the inter-class separability and intra-class compactness of minority representations with higher uncertainty. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the MinGRE framework not only significantly reduces the performance disparity across classes but also achieves enhanced robustness compared to existing baselines. This paper presents a novel method that combines cloud computing infrastructure and Reinforcement Learning (RL) algorithms to improve public safety lighting in smart cities. By dynamically adjusting lighting levels in response to real-time sensor inputs, the proposed system aims to maximize visibility while minimizing energy consumption. The cloud-based framework's RL agents continuously interact with the environment and human activity patterns to learn the best lighting policies. The system utilizes data from multiple sensors, including ambient light and motion detectors, to adjust real-time to daylight levels, weather, and pedestrian traffic variations. By integrating RL, the lighting system can adapt to changing urban dynamics and safety requirements over time, all while reducing energy waste. Compared to conventional static lighting systems, case studies and simulations show how the system can significantly improve visibility and response times while enhancing safety in various urban settings. RL algorithms can be easily deployed and managed throughout extensive smart city networks due to cloud computing network scalability and adaptability. This study advances sustainable urban infrastructure by showcasing the effectiveness of RL-based artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in public safety lighting optimization, thereby laying the groundwork for future smarter and safer cities.

The widespread adoption of emerging technologies, such as interconnected sensors and advanced automation systems, has led to rapid advancements in smart industrial environments. While industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPSs) bring efficiency and innovation to industrial processes, the security risks are also of great concern. The existing work provides many methods for data security and authentication for ICPSs. However, since the authentication status of ICPSs is changeable, the up-to-date methods can hardly meet the requirements for rapid authentication and secure data transmission. What’s more, largescale message revocation incurs significant communication and computational costs. This paper proposes a blockchain-assisted identity-based puncturable signcryption (BC-IBPSC) scheme for cloud and fog-hosted ICPSs. First, based on the concepts of puncturable encryption and signature, a novel identity-based puncturable signcryption method is presented to achieve efficient verifiable data encryption. Second, the blockchain is utilized to record all valid and punctured messages, to achieve evidence storage and traceability. The results of the analysis indicate that the scheme ensures security and operates efficiently. In addition, experiments show that the size of the signcrypted files does not affect the value of Gas consumption on the blockchain when uploading proofs. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.

Incremental Land-Cover Classification in satellite image patches concerns the categorization of different types of land cover in satellite images. Land cover mapping from satellite imagery has applications in environmental observation, planning and resource management, and disaster response. Current land cover change classification paradigms involve heavily sampled and trained state vector data models, which do not have provisions for dynamic updates consequent upon variation in the cover density sizes, seasonal changes, incremental growth of urban sprawl, deforestation, and other natural calamities. Since new satellite images become available often, retraining your models from the very beginning is both time-consuming and computationally expensive. To tackle these issues, we propose a Dual-Channel Convolutional Neural Network with Attention Pooling and Sand Cat Swarm Optimization (DualCCNNet-AP+SCSO) for incremental classification of land cover in satellite imagery patches. This methodology utilizes satellite image patches from the So2Sat image patch dataset, where images are initially preprocessed with Iterative Self-Guided Image Filtering (ISGIF). After preprocessing, the Spike-Driven Transformer (SDT) method extracts key features, which are then classified through the Dual-Channel Convolutional Neural Network with Attention Pooling (DualCCNNet-AP), fine-tuned by Sand Cat Swarm Optimization (SCSO) for accurate incremental land-cover classification. The DualCCNNet-AP+SCSO method is implemented in Python. The effectiveness of the proposed method was assessed on the So2Sat image patch dataset, where it achieved an impressive 99.9% accuracy and 99.5% recall, outperforming current techniques. Based on these conclusions about classification accuracy, it demonstrated that the proposed approach enables the effective classification of the change, especially in the smallest class of the land cover in the satellite image patches. Lung cancer has been stated as one of the prevalent killers of cancer up to this present time and this clearly underlines the rationale for early diagnosis to enhance life expectancy of patients afflicted with the condition. The reasons behind the usage of the transformer and deep learning classifiers for the detection of lung cancer include accuracy, robustness along with the capability to handle and evaluate large data sets and much more. Such models can be more complex and can help to utilize multiple modalities of data to give extensive information that will be critical in ascertaining the right diagnosis at the right time. However, the existing works encounter several limitations including reliance on large annotated data, overfitting, high computation complexity, and interpretability. Third, the issue of the stability of these models’ performance when applied to actual clinical datasets is still an open question;this is an even bigger issue that will greatly reduce the actual utilization of these models in clinical practice. To tackle these, we develop a novel Cancer Nexus Synergy (CanNS), which applies of A. Swin-Transformer UNet (SwiNet) Model for segmentation, Xception-LSTM GAN (XLG) CancerNet for classification, and Devilish Levy Optimization (DevLO) for fine-tuning parameters. This paper breaks new ground in that the presented elements are incorporated in a manner that co-operatively elevates the diagnostic capabilities while at the same time being computationally light and resilient. These are SwiNet for segmented analysis, XLG CancerNet for precise classification of the cases, and DevLO that optimizes the parameters of the lung cancer detection system, making the system more sensible and efficient. The performance outcomes indicate that the CanNS framework enhances the detection’s accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity compared to the previous approaches. © The Author(s) 2025.

Singing Voice Conversion (SVC) has emerged as a significant subfield of Voice Conversion (VC), enabling the transformation of one singer’s voice into another while preserving musical elements such as melody, rhythm, and timbre. Traditional SVC methods have limitations in terms of audio quality, data requirements, and computational complexity. In this paper, we propose LHQ-SVC, a lightweight, CPU-compatible model based on the SVC framework and diffusion model, designed to reduce model size and computational demand without sacrificing performance. We incorporate features to improve inference quality, and optimize for CPU execution by using performance tuning tools and parallel computing frameworks. Our experiments demonstrate that LHQ-SVC maintains competitive performance, with significant improvements in processing speed and efficiency across different devices. The results suggest that LHQ-SVC can meet real-time performance requirements, even in resource-constrained environments.

Classical machine learning, extensively utilized across diverse domains, faces limitations in speed, efficiency, parallelism, and processing of complex datasets. In contrast, quantum machine learning algorithms offer significant advantages, including exponentially faster computations, enhanced data handling capabilities, inherent parallelism, and improved optimization for complex problems. In this study, we used the entanglement enhanced quantum kernel in a quantum support vector machine to train complex respiratory datasets. Compared to classical algorithms, our findings reveal that quantum support vector machine (QSVM) performs better with higher accuracy (45%) for complex respiratory datasets while maintaining comparable performance with linear datasets in contrast to their classical counterparts executed on a 2-qubit system. Through our study, we investigate the efficacy of the QSVM-Kernel algorithm in harnessing the enhanced dimensionality of the quantum Hilbert space for effectively training complex datasets.

RAKG:Document-level Retrieval Augmented Knowledge Graph Construction

With the rise of knowledge graph based retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques such as GraphRAG and Pike-RAG, the role of knowledge graphs in enhancing the reasoning capabilities of large language models (LLMs) has become increasingly prominent. However, traditional Knowledge Graph Construction (KGC) methods face challenges like complex entity disambiguation, rigid schema definition, and insufficient cross-document knowledge integration. This paper focuses on the task of automatic document-level knowledge graph construction. It proposes the Document-level Retrieval Augmented Knowledge Graph Construction (RAKG) framework. RAKG extracts pre-entities from text chunks and utilizes these pre-entities as queries for RAG, effectively addressing the issue of long-context forgetting in LLMs and reducing the complexity of Coreference Resolution. In contrast to conventional KGC methods, RAKG more effectively captures global information and the interconnections among disparate nodes, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the model. Additionally, we transfer the RAG evaluation framework to the KGC field and filter and evaluate the generated knowledge graphs, thereby avoiding incorrectly generated entities and relationships caused by hallucinations in LLMs. We further developed the MINE dataset by constructing standard knowledge graphs for each article and experimentally validated the performance of RAKG. The results show that RAKG achieves an accuracy of 95.91% on the MINE dataset, a 6.2 % point improvement over the current best baseline, GraphRAG (89.71%). Discrete chaotic systems based on memristors exhibit excellent dynamical properties and are more straightforward to implement in hardware, making them highly suitable for generating cryptographic keystreams. However, most existing memristor-based chaotic systems rely on a single memristor. This paper introduces a novel discrete chaotic system employing dual memristors, named the 3D memristive cubic map with dual discrete memristors (3D-MCM). The 3D-MCM system demonstrates richer and more intricate dynamical behaviors compared to its single-memristor counterparts, as verified through bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponent spectra, and complexity analyses. Notably, the system exhibits coexisting attractors, substantially enhancing its dynamical complexity. Hardware implementation of the 3D-MCM attractors confirms its feasibility for industrial applications. To illustrate the system's potential in encryption tasks, this study integrates the quaternary-based permutation and dynamic emanating diffusion (QPDED-IE) scheme for image encryption with the *** results demonstrate that the QPDED-IE scheme based on the 3D-MCM exhibits strong diffusion and confusion properties, effectively resisting cryptanalytic attacks. © 1991-2012 IEEE.
